Ted392 Mods

So I put the 392 on the lift to change oil. I also did an inspection and found this. The drivers side parking brake cable has a large wear spot on it. I did the synergy relocation cable kit. So this is not good. I'll have to seal up the cable, worn down pretty far. Yhen I'll have to secure the cable away from the differential stud.

That doesn't look good, so that isn't the stock location?

Correct, not stock. The relocation bracket is to provide more travel on these cables. But the one rubs on the raised boss of the diff. I'll call Synergy this week to see what gives.

Dang Ted, you seemed to have taken all the precautions to prevent that and it still rubs.

So it turns out Synergy requires 2" of bumps stops above factory for rear. This would prevent the cable from touching the axle, means you also need atleast a 2" lift. I have 1". I am now informed... I'll patch up this cable and route it my way to keep it away from the threaded axle boss.

Be informed when installing this bracket kit. Or you may loose your parking brakes when you need them most!

wow that crazy its not in bold letter in the instructions

Thanks to others money spenders on here (lol),,,, I installed the rear Clayton springs and added a JKS adjustable rear track bar to recenter the axle. I left the rear 1" lift spacers in. Noticeable height change. Will measure when I get the front springs and track bar done.
With the rear drivers parking brake cable, I routed back to oem position. That cable is a bit longer than passenger side, so there is still slack at full droop.

Cant wait to see the result with the spacers. So now I need adjustable track bars? I see what you are doing lol. In all seriousness why was it off center?

I'm just burning money, lol, that's all.

As you raise the body up, the rear axle will migrate to the passenger side. On mine it was about 0.5". So I rear centered it with an adjustable track bar. Plus after markets are beefier that stock. Front is the same except it will migrate to drivers side.

Measure from a frame point to tire/rim on each side to determine difference.

Thanks did not even think about that. Now I’ve got to measure and more spending 😂 probably need to measure front to rear as well because same principle right? Height would pull the fronts back and backs forward

I would think that front to rear dimension change would be miniscule bc of the control arms.

My spring purchase put the ball back in your court, so it's your turn to spend mo-mola!
