Order status and Jeep chat

Any details on your buddy's options?
he got the most important one, a V8! pretty Much everything needed is stock, but has tow, hinge reinforcement for the 35s going on today. Headliner And mats.

On a 392 the XR is a not worth the wait or the money :D . But I digress.

Finally left the "gathering parts" purgatory and entered "your vehicle has been scheduled for production. The next step, the vehicle will be going into the build process."

The XR is definitely going to be worthy of the wait. 😎

If you are waiting for it let‘s hope it is. But certainly not something I would want to wait for…. Or pay extra for. As with many things in our society it is more status. I remember the “Hard Rock” and the “Red Rock” editions. It was the same with those, I bet you don’t remember those now either…

Oh yes i do remember them. When your talking 80k for a 392 what’s another 4k for the XR hell what’s another 4k for the half doors. Don’t be a hater because you missed the boat on an XR. 😂 go all in balls deep or don’t go at all is my motto. 🤑

Some models can be so rare that they kind of get forgot about because there’s not enough of them to be wanted or known about. I don’t think any of the 392s are going to be that rare. But rare enough they will hold there value if that makes sense.

You said the only thing that matters to me… he did NOT get an XR. Which explains why his was built sooner. We can agree to disagree on the “value” of it, but I’ll gladly pay the price for mine.

We are in a 392 forum, so it’s assumed that it was a 392… just like the rest of ours. 😂

Got my update from my Dealer. Jeep is built and now in KZLD status. I was told could be a delay do to truck driver shortage. Ok just like everybody else it seems.

My question is when will crypto sticker show a sticker is available?
It still only shows "build sheet found".

That update was from April 20th.

Anyone have any input?

order placed Nov-2021
D1 status March30
F status April 19
JB status April 27
KZLD status May 4

Sting Gray XR
tow pack
Black grill
trail cam
trail rail cargo mount

I was prepared to wait for weeks. I got notified my 392XR arrived at the dealer!!
even surprised the salesman, I think!

I think that all wranglers hold their value Pretty well.

To me I find it unconscionable that people would wait a extra day for an XR. People have been re-gearing wranglers since day 1. And BTW the 392 doesn’t come close to needing 4.56 for 35s. So if you are going to 37s or bigger you need 4.56s, but by then you are at the limit of the M220 D44 anyway with that power and the heavy weight of the 392. So you need d60/80s unless you are building a mall crawler.

I love the V8 I love 3.73s on 35s I love 18 mpg. I love 87 octane… troll on!!!

My 2015 Sahara Unlimited X Games edition is one that is so uncommon I just saw another one for thile first time last week! I've been through 5 unlimited, 1 Gladiator, and 1 Rubicon 4xe and the X Edition is by FAR the best vehicle I've ever owned. I have hope the 392 is good but the 4xe was such a direct build LEMON disappointment, I'm super reserved in expectations. Lol

The great part is that none of us need to care what you find "unconscionable." That's the beauty of being a troll... your opinion becomes less valuable with every post. ;) In all seriousness, though, that's the great thing about groups like this, especially for car/Jeep guys. Everybody has their purpose for the mods that they do and the way they configure their car. One package is perfect for some folks and completely wrong for others. What's cool is that FCA/Jeep gives us options like the XR package that is EXACTLY what some people want and they allow everyone else to configure their Jeep in a different way. And if you think that D44 can't handle 37s with 4:56s behind the 392, you're doing something wrong. 40s... maybe(probably) an issue under hard wheeling, but south of that with 4:56s (and a driver who knows what he/she is doing) 44s are usually going to be fine. Again, different strokes for different folks, but having that setup with a factory warranty and not having to have my Jeep down to do the mods after I get it home is worth the 5% premium to the MSRP of the Jeep itself in my opinion.

I would have gotten XR if I could have for sure. I'm just happy I got a 392 at all...well, at least got an order in at the 11th hour.

On a positive spin, I'll likely turn around and get XR on a 2023 if available or ideally a 20thA. I wasn't in a place to get a 10A back in the day, but drooled at them. If I don't get either of them, my non XR goes to AEV to make up for it. But yeah, I would definitely rather just have gotten it from the start and cool with admitting it. (y)

I was posting over on wrangler forums talking about XR on 392s. I was saying that in the 392 world you're either a have or have not. I went on to say that since my order went in at the end of April, I am currently a 'have not'. :sneaky::LOL:

LOL you’re right @KungFu392 i’m a troll.

A “Jeep” is not a “car”. And FCA doesn’t exist anymore. But I am glad you are here and you will never see any post that says anything about anyone from me. But you will get my experience and opinion which I guarantee will be different from everyone. I do what works for me and not worried about if that works for anyone else, but in the end it does work.

A d44 has a weight rating of 3500#. a modestly equipped 392 is over 3 tons…. But I am not good a math…. So add fuel and people? Then add to that this configuration of a 392 on a d44 doesn’t exist in other vehicles. The TRX has a D60…. And a 6.2. So I think specs and ratings are their for a reason. If you surpass the spec then you should say “hold my beer” before.

people wonder why things are like they are. 99 mph limit On a 392? Because there is only 1 35 tire rated to go beyond that, 315/70/17 KO2s…. So hopefully people stick with those for all XRs. Also there is an extra inch of bump stop on a XR than a reg392. That gives it about 3” of up travel for flexing…. that will be felt on road, even more so off road…. And I like fox shocks.

that is why I don’t have one. But glad people can buy whatever they want.

Yup at least we agree on some things. FWIW - the "in all seriousness" part was meant to make it clear that I was just giving you a hard time about being a Troll, so I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. ;)

And yeah, I understand that a Jeep is not a "car" which is precisely why I wrote CAR/JEEP guys... because God forbid anyone ever lump the two together, right? I happen to be both and have been for longer than probably a lot of our friends here have been alive, but as a custom shop owner, I would be the LAST person to tell someone that what they wanted wasn't right for them. I would certainly always give them the pros and cons of a different setup if necessary... similar to what you appear to do above. Only I would do it with a positive spin because hey, it's their money.

I do find it interesting that you say that "your experieince and opinion is guaranteed to be DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE." You are one unique dude, huh? Nobody has your experience? Nobody shares ANY of your opinions? You know what usually means, don't you? :) Oh, and for what it's worth, the XR is not limited at 99. But you already knew that, too, I'm sure. Which again, is the reason that the XR package is perfect for someone who is not planning to bring the Jeep home and immediately remove everything south of the frame and rebuild it from the ground up. But if that's someone's plan, I agree 100% that the XR package is not only a massive waste of money, but could result in an added delay for no good reason. I also happen to live in a place where there are plenty of posers with more money than sense who will pay a premium for an "unmolested" "rare" 392XR just because it was the absolute pinnacle of the Jeep Wrangler at the time, so I anticipate having very little trouble selling mine when the time comes to move on to the next one. :) Rock on, Crouton!
