Huge NoLimitz Feature Release (Beta)

Mine died after sitting overnight with 24.1.5 beta firmware. Z was great at providing quick instructions how to restore my vehicle by returning to stock. I reinstalled the Tazer JL Mini and that seems fine. But Now my updater tool does not see the NoLimitz module. I click on 'read firmware' and it returns a blank. I try to perform a refresh and it very briefly displays an error so fast I cannot read it. Z is closed for the evening as they should be. Any ideas how to force the NoLimitz to be recognized? It is out of the vehicle, plugged into my windows laptop, and it does have a solid red light.

I think mine died too, the battery was around 11.9v but luckily it's brand new and the Jeep still started.

I can't duplicate your error because ... the email they've sent misses the beta file😂

Your Jeep battery was down to 11.9V? Mine started immediately after I removed the modules. I was lucky.

Honestly, my only goal is to disable MDS. I’m actually hesitant to turn off all the torque management. I don’t want to be replacing everything in a year. But I would like to give it a little rev over 4k RPM. That would be fun.

Mine started immediately too, I assume because my battery is less than 2 months old.

Same here. Disabling MDS is (was) my main reason for the NoLimitz, but once other features are available I've started becoming feature greedy :)

Have you guys tried revving in N using the latest update 24.1.6 yet?
I asked them about it on Friday.

Here is the response:

"not yet, but our engineer is working on it but nothing yet to announce on the Wrangler 392 and increasing the rev limit".

I guess they've got it done...

Just curious which firmware version that is?
I guess that's the question given @ParadigmDawg comment. The latest so far is 24.1.6 to my knowledge.
Weird because I received that response yesterday afternoon post installing the latest update.
Maybe they're just measuring twice before the make it available. I haven't updated mine with either of the latest updates yet.

I'm at .6

Like others, all I expect the nolimitz to do is:
1. Disable MDS
2. Enable RWD (or 2wd high)
3. Update the speed limit to 110.
AND, Play nice with the new Tazer and not break my new 392, lol.

All those other options are neat but will have little use to me (at least at this point), my big thing is trouble free operation,
and since my Jeep is not a daily driver I don't want something that will eat my battery or even worse leave wifey stranded.
Hopefully those kind of problems are strictly limited to the Beta releases.

My Nolimitz is on it way, I don't know what will be loaded into it when it arrives. I need to become familiar with how to update if necessary. I would like to make sure it is on the last stable firmware versions.

I applaud and thank all those who participate in Beta's to help improve this product, your actions are really appreciated to those of us who are just users and not pioneers! Kudos to you!

As usual, all suggestions or recommendations are encouraged! thanks

Item #2 is done by the Tazer which it sounds like you have as well

We got in my Jeep this evening to go to dinner and it wouldn’t start after entering the code and was making a weird noise. Turned it off and tried again and all of the error lights started coming on. I removed the NoLimitz and hooked it up to my computer and it wouldn’t read the current firmware. I tried to install the new firmware 24.1.6 I just received (was planning on doing it tomorrow) and I just said error so I think the No Limitz is bricked.

It stated right up and lights went away once the NoLimitz was removed but but the check engine light is still on but I assume it will go out on it’s own or I’ll clear it.

I emailed the same to Z support

I had the same experience with version 24.1.5. I don’t think we’re the only ones, as they commented something like, 'Sorry you’ve experienced this too.' I’ve tried unsuccessfully to update to 24.1.6, but I keep getting a timeout error. I’m using a Mac Silicon notebook and am unsure if others have had this update issue. I informed Z-Auto, and they’ll replace my NoLimitz unit to check if it’s faulty or damaged.

BTW, I've cleared all the codes with my Tazer.

Glad I’m not the only one 🤣 I did freak out a little at first but figured that’s probably what it was. I hope to get a new one soon as I like all features but that one

Agreed, I like it too, but this feels a bit more like an alpha release, not beta :)
