Tail gate inner 392 plate

I’ve noticed in several videos on the 392 the info plate on the vehicles being reviewed is just the standard white JL plate. But mine is the gold color and 392 specific. Curious how many of you have your 392 and what plate is on the inside of the gate.
I have standard. Love the bronze.

No, at least not to order it. I’m certain I won’t be paying for it.
Went to my dealer today. Service wrote it up but Parts says they can’t order it because there is no schematic breakdown for the door plate. Could you please post the MOPAR Part Number and the phone number of your dealer so we can dovetail off your dealer’s expertise? Thanks.

So I read some information on the JLWrangler forum and chased it down with my dealer (even though I haven’t taken delivery yet.) He confirmed what was reported: the Bronze 392 plate was a recent “Change” to the vehicle. All first few months of assembly had the standard plate and they just recently changed it to bronze. He called his first couple customers and his most recent. They all fell in line with what he was told. So I’m understanding this isn’t a “mistake” for those with the silver badge. The bronze just simply didn’t exist yet.

For all of us wanting the 392 data plate I have a bit of news. I called the parts dept where I bought mine from and he found the part and I now have the part number.
It is on back order, but the number is 68570513. I hope this helps everyone who's wanting one get theirs.

It is on back order,
Correct - also been reported as it’s a “new” part and inventory has been in correlation with new builds. It will take some time before there’s availability outside of production. A misfortunate reality to new or newly changed parts along the assembly line.

Thanks for the Part #. In the meantime, I just sent an e-mail to corporate HQ asking them how they plan to handle this.

Let us know where it goes. So far Jeep Corporate has not been open to helping my dealer get the correct plate and customer service has called me back with reasoning being different color based on the build date. When I explained the info was wrong also not just the color they said they would look into it further and report back. Not sure where it will end up right now but not getting the warm and fuzzys.

Granite crystal
Sounds like you now have two mis-stamped pennys with your Jeep.. the data plate and the incorrect dash color. My Jeep is Granite Crystal inside and out. What I understand is that all the Rubicon 392s are supposed to have granite crystal dashes and so far from those that I have seen personally that has been the case. Two of my fellow 4WD club members have 392s, one white, one red and they both have Granite Crystal dashes.

That's what I was figuring and am trying to determine where the break/change point might have occurred. The 392 data plate aside from being bronzeish also does not have the two door Jeep depicted on the plate and the fording capability is 2.5 inches higher.

Mine is granite and.... glossy! I was wrong. I swear it was matte tho.... then I went outside to check and nope! Glossy granite. Im an idiot.

I visited the dealer today to address all known issues with my 392. As far as the tailgate data plate is concerned my dealer ordered the correct part under warranty. I shared with the service writer that I would actually like to keep the incorrect plate in place for the "mis-printed penny" effect and put the replacement plate in the glovebox. He informed me that the factory will most likely require actual replacement and return of the replaced part. We’ll see how this pans out once the correct part is available. More to follow….
Well well... i hope my jeep doesnt want the wrong jl badge back bc that wont be happening. Any thoughts where to attach the 2nd 392 badge??? Are the jeepers that will insist on having both badges all want to choose a common spot?

I love the bronze so much i ordered new wheels (with at3 35s) to really play up the bronze theme. Putting them on today with black lugs. ((My hun was scared to hurt my wheels.... notice the black gloves! I had to laugh. ))

This is totally crazy. All I can think of here is that the data plate was always intended to be bronze for the 392, but perhaps the vendor was unable to supply in time for 392 production to start. So, someone at Jeep decided that in order to launch, they would go with the standard plate (with incorrect data). Jeep should accommodate by offering early 392 buyers the opportunity to get the correct plate. As Jeep has positioned the 392 as the ultimate Wrangler, that's the expectation.

Thanks for posting. I gave this number to the dealer and he asked for some letters at the end. You would think the dealer could find this out. Any help appreciated.
