Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

I hate dealers...
Got a call to day with the trade offer for my 2021 392 when trading it in on my 20a that's on the way..... it was a joke that told me with a straight face, about 15k under valued.

So, I guess I'll be selling it outright in the next couple/few weeks.

Same here when I went to trade the 2022 fully loaded V6 with 3700 miles (clone of my 392 but with a V6) that I had purchased from them and picked up the day I ordered my 392. They ask me if id be trading it and told them if they were honest on the trade value I would but It was so laughably low I thought it was a joke. Sold it for 22k more than they offered me on trade

I'll be trading my 23 392 in with about 300 miles on it. I'll get close to 5k with my state's tax credit, so I'll accept around 5k or so less than value, but not in the realm of 15 or 20k. Ridiculous.

They are all crooks….”Shameless” especially after all of the money they made over the last few years!

Your 20A is on the way? Did you get an update from Jeep that it shipped already? Mine is still in D1 🤔

No. But I'm told it's scheduled to hit assembly on 4/11, with possible delivery in mid May. I hope that's the case as I'm planning a big trip in August and would like the time to get through the break-in and get some mods in place.

I have one in D1 too... Looks like they are all frozen in D1!

Want to hear about shameless:

I ordered a 2023 Challenger, SRT, Hellcat, Redeye, Widebody, Jailbreak on October 31, 2022. I still don't have a VIN even though it was a guaranteed order 5N9.

When the 20A allocations opened up, I called the same dealer to order a 20A (as an additional vehicle to my original order) and was told that the allocations were all taken by employees. I was eventually lucky to find another 20A allocation in a different dealership who pulled thought for me and is now in D1.

Not having my Challenger, I decided to call around when the Demon 170 allocations became available. I called dozens and dozens of dealerships searching for a good price. I was told by the dealerships that the ADM is anywhere from $100k to $200k on top of the $100k+ MSRP.

Life is funny, when I didn't have the money to buy a nice car, they were in abundance.... Now that I have the money, the dealerships do nothing but play tricks or try to steal my hard earned money!!!

You think the dealers are bad in regard to trade, try to buy a Demon 170! ADM starting at 100k!! Greed is good.

It's corruption better known as price fixing! That's what the whole Vegas meeting of the minds was about!

Ironically, many of the dealerships I called, after the allocations showed up on the Horsepower Locator, told me that they could not discuss pricing until the reps returned from Vegas. Really?

I'm generally not too interested in cars (unless they're convertible) so I didn't really have too much interest. I know my dealer is getting one. I’ll ask him about it just out of curiosity.

Of course it is price fixing. But sadly every single one of these cars will be sold, ADM be damned.
Funny how the $100k number was the go to by all the 50+ dealerships that I called. Imagine, what is the probability that 50+ dealerships have the same $100k ADM?

After 22+ years of doing federal white collar fraud, there was definitely a red flag there!

From having owned retail business most of my adult life, I can almost understand dealerships selling vehicles at MSPR. Not sure how much they really make by selling at MSRP in todays environment? Use to be 10%-12% on more expensive vehicles. A friend of mine used to work as a salesman for a dealership for 15+ years and explain Holdback money, at the time. What I do know is the cost of employees, insurance and building/property and environmental expenses. I suppose that's why service rates have risen to the point they are at.
As far as the $100k over MSPR for select specialty vehicles... I guess dealers see the same prices we are seeing at Mecum & Barrett-Jackson auctions, and want in on the profit.
Is it right??
If a guy can buy a car for $100k and quickly flip it for $100k+ profit.... this is the world we currently live in.

On the other hand....if I were wanting to order a Hellcat, I'd have issue with paying $100k over MSPR.

And they will laugh all the way to the bank.
I believe that is partially true, but not completely. With more than 2500 (possibly 3000) units to be produced there are only so many people who are willing to throw that kind of money into a car over MSRP. Keep in mind, ADM is not covered by insurance should something happen to the car!

Having said that, the economy is also not in the favor of such purchases. Yes, anyone can mortgage their homes to make this happen, but at today's interest rates, it would be a catastrophic mistake!

As for me, I'll sit in the sidelines and watch the fireworks. Once the dust settles, I'll make my move! I predict there will be plenty of inventory for those who have the wherewithal and patience!

Interesting you say that. When I bought my 2018 Demon ADM were 50k plus. But after waiting 6 months I found multiple dealers that would negotiate. Granted I ended up paying 10k in ADM, but that was better than 50k over. Alas, the Demon is no longer in the garage. Still kicking myself for that decision!

Guy ran into two 20A in Moab today.

Looks like Earl won’t look too bad with the red.
