Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

Just got a call from the dealer. He said my 20a is set to begin production on 4/11 and I might have it in hand by early to mid May.
Hopefully interest rates plunge just before our Jeeps arrive. 🤞 Rates just went up again like yesterday. I wouldn't mind the extra wait time if I get another 2.35 APR (as I did on my 2021). Right now, with an 800+ FICO you're looking at 6%+ rate. That equates to a huge chunk of change!

I asked my Jeep dealer what interest rates they were quoting right now and it's the same as on the jeep.com site...7.62%...give or take...

Did I see somewhere that GCM was listed initially for the 24s but is now gone (In addition to Sting being gone)?
Sure did - I have been following this as well and originally I wanted GCM on my 20A which was only available on the electrified whimp crawler - So I went with Sting and apparently Sting and GCM have now been dropped for 2024 - Games, Games and More Games by Stellantis - I believe this nonsense is all to push buyers to the 4xe as the 392 is definitely coming to end SOON. Sticking with my 20A and can’t wait for it to arrive 👍

Been talking with my dealer the last few days. Probably going to cancel my 20A x AEV order. The more I think about it, the less sense it makes for me. It's white with SOT and dual doors. Anyone here want it? Dealer is super cool, no add on, and is cool with just selling it themselves. I think it's like $118k with the AEV package but we haven't gone through all of the AEV add ons so you could pick what you want and don't want.

The AEVs are cool, but I'll never use the functionality. Yes, my 20A will be a mall crawler...but I'll be smiling while I do it. :)

The 20A will be an “extremely” capable CRAWLER - Don’t kid yourself!
I have a 2022 WL74 Hemi 5.7L 2 Row Summit Reserve loaded to the gills - That machine is my mall crawler and will never see any true crawling - For the record it does ride beautiful on the roads 👍

Edit: I don’t go to any malls - been at least 10 to 15 years since I have been at any malls when my offspring were still around and I have no plans to visit any in the future. Quite the opposite!

I've probably put way to much time into this, but I used that PDF of the new 2024 features and compared it to other previous versions I found to come up with a comparison of the XR 392, 20A 392, and the 24 392. It's probably not 100% accurate, but it should be close. See attached (be nice...I tried... :ROFLMAO: )
Nice work!!

Are you going to just keep what you have (I thought I remember that you have a 392 already) or are you going to get a 2024 instead?

Yea I have a 21 now. The math just doesn't math to sell it. It's a 21 with 12k miles. I paid $82 all in before taxes with SOT and hald doors. The AEV one is $120k. That's $40k. Granted $20k of that is AEV but there's another $20k for some stickers and red seats. I love my 21, no point in just lighting money on fire. I think I just got caught up in the excitement bc I loved the 10A so much. The baby blue with the bright red seats was just perfect. The further we get removed from the news, the less in love I am for the 20A. If I didn't have a 392, I'd have a tough call between 20A and 24.

All good @dblplay1212

The one thing about the 20A (or a 21 392 for that matter), is that if they do an all digital dash, well that’s cool, but if we hold on to these 392s, we’ll have the last wranglers with an analog dash. Sure tech is ok and I’m sure the 24 dash will be cool, but in 10 years we’ll be able to say we have the last gen with analog dash, possibly the last wranglers with manual seats too depending on what happens.

I say all the time that my 95 is one of the last wranglers with a rotary odo and I love it (And full doors with the front quarter windows, among other things). I forget if the TJs before the mid cycle refresh had a digital odo or not. I know my 04 had a digital odo. I had a 97 TJ but I forget if it was rotary or digital odo.

Either way, there is something to be said for having the ‘last’ of something as well. Not trying to convince you to keep your 20A AEV but the 20A will likely be the last analog dash. That’s pretty cool tbh imo.

I was like like well crap even though mine just got delivered should I order a 20A? My dealer gave me the option at MSRP but I wanna mod mine and feel like that would be a little sacrilegious lol plus I would have to change the red ASAP and it wouldn’t really be a 20a anymore?

Then the whole 24 hype I almost bought into but I’ve changed my mind I love mine and it’s my ride or die until I’m like mad max looking for gas when everything else is electric. I may swap the screens if an option but not a big deal.

The one thing I really like is wireless. I looked into aftermarket head units that can do it. Gonna wait to see if we can somehow retrofit the factory 5 head units though.

You can add wireless carplay or andriod auto with a simple adapter.

You made someone’s day for sure. In the end just a jeep though. You have the first year of a 392, so that’s cool too.

Check out Youtube video Alpine i509-WRA-JL Review - MUST WATCH Before You Buy
by carstereochick.. Seems she owns an install shop and tells some of the things you do loose when switching from factory headunit. Like HD camera resolution, Uconnect App features, backup lines are questionable.

You gain ability to play hi res files if you go all out and replace speakers and amps. Plus t/a and individual
speaker eq.

I was only posting this for others that seemed interested in possibly updating their 20A tech since Stellantis did a nice job at rattling most 20A buyers announcing the updated tech coming for the 2024 - Quite honestly I have NO intention of replacing the original head nor tearing down any of the factory tech on my 20A and looking forward to the proven factory setup. I already have all of the Stellantis Bells and Whistles in my WL74 2 Row Summit Reserve Hemi 5.7L and truly feel it’s not needed in the 392 and will only take the original platform away from its Roots - The newer tech can only bring unproven and added issues to the 392 keeping it at the dealerships and keeping it off the trails where it belongs exploring this beautiful country ✌️

I'm an audio nerd. Seems factory systems have definitely improved over the years, but they always seem to fall a little short. Simple fix for my 392 would be if factory would have installed a stronger sub woofer and added tweeter in dash. Terra Acoustics addressed tweeter issue, however they are a different ohms load so you do have to balance with slight fade to front. Trying to keep it as stock as possible.
