Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

yeah a dual ARB would pop that 80psi gauge the first time it filled. Not sure jeep would go through the trouble of swapping out the pressure switch in the ARB just to use a low psi gauge. Would be easier to use a higher gauge. Makes me think it’s going to be a cheaper off brand compressor.

I totally agree, especially since even an ARB single wouldn't fit in that cavity within the tailgate. Granted, I also heard that it may not actually be in that cavity.

My guess is the compartment in the floor.

I saw a guy years back on a JK forum that put an ARB single behind each tail light in that corner cavity, and tied the power and air outputs together to get some decent performance in an otherwise unused space. Not sure if that'll work in the JL, but maybe. IT might also be a way to upgrade the performance of the new factory air compressor if it's underpowered.

My original plan was to go with the American Adventure Lab's ARB single mounting solution for the cubby hole below the cargo space.

A nice companion to this mounting solution is to install their Compressor Remote Kit. Key benefits are 1) it utilizes the space below the cargo area that isn't accessible when loaded with gear while still provide easy access in case you need to get to it, 2) will aid in baffling the noise of the compressor, and 3) will do a great job of protecting it from the elements. Potential con is heat build up. I know my ARB compressor gets HOT after airing up my 37s.

I went with Innovative AT under seat mount w integrated blue tooth module. Works great and has convenient access to all Wheels for simultaneous airing. Took approx 5 Minutes to air from 10psi to 35 (dual ARB compressor). Mounted underneath front passenger seat. Would recommend!

My JKUR is 10 years old now..... the hinges are fine.
I may have missed something. Have a 2007 JK and recently sold a 2020 JL and hinges on both have no rust. Other thought - if they somehow did rust, I’d replace them. No biggie. 🤷‍♂️

Did you (or for anyone else reading this who is going for the AEV upfit) see my post earlier in the thread about the AEV forms? I know you picked the AEV level II option but didn't know if your dealer knew to get the forms in. We didn't do it right away, but I figured it out on Saturday from someone on fb, called my dealer, and they got the forms in for me.

We have no idea if AEV builds are selected based on the actual order code or the forms, but I'm guessing even if it's just the option group we picked when the order went it, they'll probably just bypass an order that also doesn't have the forms turned in.

It's three forms, all filled out by your dealer, and then sent to VOIMTeam with Stellantis and JeepOrders with AEV.

After placing an order... If you/a customer receives a VON (not to be confused with the VIN) for the 20A, is it a good bet you'll get the Jeep (Or rather, it'll be built & sent to your dealership... for you)? I'm getting mixed signals from my dealership. Comments like, "Keep your Fingers Crossed", "We'll know more once it's in D1 status", etc... Feelings like something may happen and this could all fall apart.

I'm entering my VON here, https://www.jeep.com/trackyourorder.html#/landing but there's currently no information available.
If I recall correctly, my last Jeep populated in this system as soon as I got my VON. My name and address are on the POC.

Has anyone received a, "Congratulations" from Jeep's auto-generating email system? I received an email like that last go-around.

Thanks in Advance,
~justin

Mine did right away back in September

I'm wondering if there's a delay in the system due to the mass of order submissions that all came in last Friday and it's just a lot to sort thru?
This is the 21st century. It doesn’t take a human to input this.

I think I remember when I ordered mine back in August that it took a few days for something to come up. In fact I'm pretty sure nothing came up for the first few days with my VON.

Think of it this way. There are about 2500 jeep dealerships in the country (at least that's what Google says). I'm not sure if the 4000 was a mix or even split of 2000 392 and 2000 4xes. If it was an even split, assuming most dealers got two allocations, then I guess 392s could have run out so to speak, especially since 2500 > 2000. However, I think if you got your order in relatively quickly and you have a VON you should be good to go.

I know there was that thing going around that they sold out in 7 or 10 minutes. Well, things went down then, but that's because of the pricing snafu. I'm not sure when banks actually went down (or if they even have yet if a dealer still has one of their allocations left).

A VIN is basically the ticket to 'You're jeep should be built', but I think having a VON in this situation is a pretty good sign. Jeep obviously has a way to take the option away on dealer order bank screens, so I'd hope they would do that when total designated allocations run out (thus preventing someone from getting a 20A VON).

I'll be pissed if I don't get mine. I had a VON in my hand at 1:12 EST (before things apparently even went down due to the price correction), and if it makes you feel any better, nothing is coming up for me either on trackers.

Also, this is, we're to assume, a new ordering experience for most if not all dealers, so they don't entirely know for sure either. They don't want to make promises to you they don't know 100% for sure they can keep so they have to be conservative on it. They might say something similar to joe blow who walks in off the street and orders a regular 6 banger sahara or something. No guarantees until it gets a VIN and goes to D status. Even then it's not a guarantee technically, but for all intents and purposes it is.

I'm not sure any of this applies to the AEV II though. That seems to be a separate cluster altogether.

It's not the human input, per say. Though, it may take a human to sort thru any errors the system is generating. For example, and my real example. My order is in BE, "BE = edit error - coding error which must be corrected before order can be scheduled." My dealer said she expects it to go to BG next which is, "BG = order has passes edit but cannot be scheduled regardless of sold status".

The reason for my concern. My POC does not have an MSRP amount on the 27T sales code line, though it does for the color, $495. With the pricing glitch that happened when the banks opened up, I'm wondering if that is why I'm getting a BE edit error code.

Does anyone have a dollar amount on their POC relative to the 27T sales code?

My first POC had a zero on the 27t line.... that was the pricing glitch.

I had to return to the dealer and get a new POC, which now has the same VON, but has additional 20a features listed, and an $8400 price on the 27t line.

the BE edit error code was what prompted my dealer to call and fix the POC. I do not think your order will progress until the dealer fixes it.

My POC doesn't have the correct price either. When I was driving back from my dealer, I called him about something else and he said the price corrected when he looked at it again (similar to what guruman is saying). I didn't get an updated POC yet though because we're waiting to see what happens with AEV.

The compressor is housed in the tire carrier.
In my JK, I kept my recovery gear in the tire carrier. It was perfect for the strap, snatch block, flag, shackles.
Makes sense to mount a compressor there.

I wish they would list the specs of the air compressor. Hopefully it will air 4-40's in a short amount of time

Doesn't the AEV Level II come with the AEV rear bumper/tire carrier? Wonder how they'll handle that compressor?
