Problems with the 392 Rubicon

Okay, how 'bout this?
Picked up me new 392 on May 12. On June 2nd while off-road, I hit a boulder and damaged the front axle.
When I took it to the dealer for repair, I was told the parts were on backorder and it would be at least 30 days. On Wednesday, July 14th, FCA told the dealer that shipment is anticipated in September.
The dealer has been wonderful, but I have filed a case with customer care

If you have a new 392 don't break it.

If anyone knows a way to cut through the red tape, please comment

I e had my 392 for a month and a half and loved. Today at the beach the front tires quit pulling… left with 2wd and buried. Had lights on saying service shifter and the following codes U0102 and U0001. Finally got four wheel drive back working and made it off the beach. Took it to the dealer tonight for them to look at Tomorrow. Seems totally electrical hopefully not a big problem.

It's still a baby. It's learning how to play in the sand. Lol.

If they tell you they couldn't find a problem, go back to the sand, close to a recovery spot, and try to replicate the issue.

Heres a link to the cold start noise, the more I think about it the more I believe it is exhaust related. As the engine warms the noise is gone. I also believe it is pre-catalytic converter.

Update on the Jeep. The codes that popped up were related to a transfer case control module. The dealer cleared the codes and all is back to normal. Drove back on the beach yesterday with no issues. Even got it up to 50 on the sand this thing is an animal

I’ve noticed mine has the same noise on cold start. Almost sounds like a squealing belt but like you, think it’s exhaust related. Keep me posted on what dealer tells you. I’ll take mine in at some point but no hurry as it goes away pretty quickly in the heat of summer.

Agreed. I complained to my Jeep advisor as well as the dealership. I want to know which employee lives 8 miles from the dealership...

The sound at start up that sounds like a squeaking belt is actually the downpipe and cat expanding as they heat up. The sound goes away after about 90 seconds. This is common on the 6.4L and is the nature of the beast. This has been discussed over and over again across different forums and in numerous FB groups. Multiple employees at Toledo who build them confirmed that is the noise being heard as well.

Wow!!! Your's sounds a lot worse than mine! The sound I have is more like a very faint serpentine belt noise but it is comming from the middle of the Jeep.

Is anyone having problems with the backup "park assist sensors"? My passenger side rear is going off all the time. I have cleaned the sensor with no change. Seemed like it started having a problem when I installed 35" tires, so thinking somehow it is seeing the bigger tire, but the sensors in the rear bumper directly below the oversized spare are not going off and nether is the left side sensor. I'm thinking I have a sensor problem but thought I would ask if others have seen this problem.....

Yes, this is a problem but most of the time its the drivers side. They are working on it I am sure.

Id say i am the exception, not a vehicle Ive owned has this amount of noise, from mercury racing power, bbc builds, lsx builds, turbos etc... I now have 3 case numbers opened, Ive yet to hear another 6.4 with this amount of noise. Which by the way no one has even turned a bolt to inspect, just visualized and heard.

Took my Jeep to the dealership last week to have the Intermitent Starter Recall case opened up and had them address the squealling noise as well. I received the sme feedback... common cat noise on 392s. However, My 2012 GC 6.4 SRT never made such a noise (are the 6.4s different than the 392s ?). Also the noise coming from my Rubicon does not subside after a short period of time, It remains constant even after driving 70 or so miles like my trip to the dealership. It was making the noise when I pulled into the service area as it was when I first started it.
