Order status and Jeep chat

Ok- For those that ordered before me...Ordered 7/12... I'm hoping yours is built soon.. Now... it's starting to feel a bit like it may happen. The wait continues...

Awesome! At least someone is getting their Jeeps built.

Interesting. I haven't had to "pound" on my dealer, I just shoot him a text and he responds in kind.
Yeah I was pretty happy with Granger having it's own thread in this forum, where Zach regularly posted a whole spreadsheet of everyone's current status codes.

That said, I'm not shocked other "random" dealers doing what dealers are known to do: suck in general :ROFLMAO:

Kind of surprised to see so many experiences from various dealers outside our forum network - for awhile this forum/thread was almost exclusively discussion around forum dealers who offer many thousands of $$$ off of MSRP (below invoice). I highly recommend anyone reading in the future to consider our forum dealers... you'll never have to worry about greasing salespeople's palms or having an ordered unit sold out from under you. Super amped with how smooth my ordering/update/delivery experience was!

Best of luck to everyone in any case!

Unfortunately, I knew nothing about this forum until I already had ordered my vehicle. Lol! I did learn a lot in the process, and in fact ordered my extended warranty through Granger, way cheaper.

I don't think Koons (where I ordered my Jeep) qualifies as a "random" dealer. Posting spreadsheets with statuses is helpful, but does absolutely nothing to speed up the build process. In fact, I have yet to see any hard evidence that anyone from any Jeep dealer was able to somehow push any builds to the front of the line. I also never had a problem with getting current build status from Koons via email (they always respond within a few hours).

Most of the dealers in this forum are frequented by people in other forums (i.e not unique to this forum), and this forum is a lot smaller than competing Wrangler-oriented forums.

Either way, I would have still ordered from Jackson Ellis at Glendale DCJR because it's a family-owned dealer (for over 50 years), he's one of the best dealers west of the Mississippi, AND he's an AEV dealer, so he can coordinate the transportation of my Jeep from the factory to AEV, avoiding rail shipping.

He's also the GM of the dealership (which his family has owned for over 50 years), and he gave me his personal cell, so I can reach him if I have a question or an issue, and he always responds same day. Granted, I met Jackson prior to ordering my 392...

If I didn't know Jackson, and I had no dealer connections prior to ordering, I'd probably have used one of the dealer's on Ratbert's list over on JLWranglerForum since I have been a member of that forum longer than this one.

Fun fact: Glendale DCJR is the dealer where the Griswolds got their iconic Wagon Queen Family Truckster

Yeah Koons is well liked here, there are several great dealers doing awesome things for this forum. As to speeding up builds - that just isn't a thing dealers can do. I ordered from Granger in January and picked up in September, but I also expected a 6+ month wait from the start. I'll get my next Jeep from them because of how well they treated me!

Of course you're 100% right that the trusted dealers in this forum aren't exclusive to us :) I think what I meant to express is this forum has grown quite a bit in the last year or so, because all the discussion "back in the day" when I ordered was mostly around the same trusted dealers.

That's great that you've got a good relationship with your dealer! Hopefully they gave you as good of a deal on pricing as the forum sponsors for your loyalty and patronage (and didn't flatten your old jeep :ROFLMAO: )

After a looooooooong wait at C / D.... I hit D1 this morning!

Just got the word the Blue Beast made it to the dealership. After 5 months and some change I will be heading down later today to see if I can close the deal. Pics will come once I get it home. Glad to join the 392 team.

Jeep has been sitting in "KZ" for 8 days now. They moved the Jeep from Ohio to their Illinois assembly plant. I think I'd be good if I knew it was on the rail. Especially with a possible strike looming. I'll be surprised if it see the Jeep this year. I have not searched the subject, but I'm sure there were folks that sat at least a month in KZ status. It is what it is. I have my JLURD that I love. I just wanted the 392 here before the end of the year for tax purposes. Crossing fingers.

And it's home................trackers started jumping around and **POOF** Delivered to dealer. Had it shipped from Iowa to MA. Now it's in my hands...but the paperwork has been slower. Still not registered. Waiting for 3rd party to finalize the out of state title and registration.

So The trackers were not accurate?

At the end there was a lot of movement from actual statuses to TBD's. It was sitting in TBD on Jeep's tracker, but JeepTracker.com showed it as delivered. Dealer called me and said it was in their lot. Was still in TBD on Jeep's website.
