Huge NoLimitz Feature Release (Beta)

Ebycreek, considering your knowledge an expertise with the ZAutomotive products now I am seriously considering sending back the NoLimitz module, I recently purchased specifically for the security issue and MDS delete. Its hardly worth it when I look at the problems it seems to be causing.

And now it looks like you may have a bricked radio. I think I will just have the dealership install the TSB to block cloning and just forget the MDS for now, I will keep the Tazer even though there are some features that don't work with the 24/25 but send back the NoLimitz even though I really hate to do that. Sorry, am not interested in becoming a beta tester.

I hope you get your radio sorted out without a dealership visit or even worse having to replace it.

Update, I removed the Tazer wasn't able to unmarry it as you can't get to the menu. I then removed the NoLimtz and now the jeep starts. I called the dealer with my radio information and they sent me the radio anti-theft code. This requires the part number and serial number information from the label on top of the radio head unit. Had to pull the radio head unit out to get this. Only took about 15 minutes as you are halfway there when you are removing the NoLimtz unit.

Thanks for the update, that does it for me, radio removal on a 24/25 is much more difficult and I won't take a chance on having the same problem with the NoLimitz. I will have the dealer install the fob clone TSB and forget the MDS for now.

Perhaps in the future and once the product is tried true and perfected I might consider the NoLimitz for the MDS disable. ZAutomotive really rushed this product evident by a total re-write. I do wish they had taken a bluetooth approach to control the product.

Not wanting to be totally negative, I applaud ZAutomotive's effort to release a ground breaking product, but better beta testing needs to be done by them and not by the end customer especially if your Jeep is your only means of transportation.

I don't also want to give Jeep any excuse to red flag my warranty because of something they probably frown upon to begin with.

You do know that the old firmware is stable, and disables MDS without all the extra features?

Is anybody able to get the NoLimtz software to read the version when clicking on the Read Version Button? It shows the version when I click on the file to update it but after that I can never confirm the file version using the Read Version Button.

Works for me.

Well, I went back and did some additional digging trying both version of the ZAutomotive programs, and different computers equipped with different USB ports (2.0, 3.0,3.1) on both Windows 7, 10 and 11 x64 Operating systems. My results are identicle to EbyCreeks, Read Version button does not return a firmware value just blank.

I think my NoLimits is also bad is less then a 30 days old and was never installed, opened a request with Doetch to return it for refund. Apparently it is bad too. I will report back.

I received a replacement for my NoLimtz and the replacement reads the version when clicking on the Read Version Button? So apparently my NoLimtz had quit working.

Well that's good, so the brand new one I brought was bad to begin with since I could never read the version!
I'm sure glad I sent it back before the 30 period refund period expired.

I ended up removing mine before GSMJI as I didn’t want to take the chance of any issues on the trip since the exhaust button continued to have a mind of its own lol. I may reinstall and try again or wait for the next beta update

So glad you Beta tester are here and on top of things with the ZAutomotive products, if it wasn't for your efforts and due diligence I think some of these issues would not be addressed or resolved. No doubt the squeaky wheel gets the oil!

We all know for the most part there are a number of things that do not work on the Tazer JL Mini. There have been no new releases since May of last year.

The Nolimitz has been on Beta 24.1.6. for a number of months now. Maybe the forum can document all of the issues for both products and put them on a sticky? Any Thoughts Moderator?

I’m jumping back in with the testing of the NoLimtz Beta software today. Apparently I’m a slow learner. This will be used with the Tazer installed.

I don't think I would call you a slow learner but a trail blazer much like your 392 and major asset to the cause! Good luck buddy!

P.S. an another subject, where did you steal the switched 12v ingnition source for your FAD? I was going to use a AUX switch.

F52 cigarette lighter. I had it hooked to the Aux switch for awhile but seemed like a waste of a switch. It’s needs to be powered whenever the ignition is turned on. This way you never forget to power it on. Plus if your battery gets low the Aux switches don’t work until the battery gets charged up.

Chris Norris they work together. You enter the menu differently. I’m talking about the NoLimitz beta firmware here, the one with the menu with lots of options…
What doesn’t work well together is if you use button remap on the Tazer; you’ll have trouble getting to the NoLimitz menu. The fix for now is to turn off button remapping.
I’m working on a Tazer update that will fix that, and add a couple more features that work between the two devices.
