Huge NoLimitz Feature Release (Beta)

I married my Tazer and did all the settings for Atlas TC & tire size. Then I disconnected the Tazer without um-marring it. I then installed the No-Limitz and everything seems to work fine. It appears that the problems arise when trying to access the live functions of the Tazer with the No-Limitz connected or trying to access the No-Limitz menu with the Tazer connected. They should work together but as of now this seems to be a work around.

Great post, Ebycreek, that's a great work around until ZAutomotive gets those unruly software ducks in a row, lol

Is my understanding that all the Tazer settings will be lost with it disconnected. Can you confirm otherwise?

Also, according to Scott:

[..]you can use them both [Tazer + NoLimitz] together but make sure to check the button remaps on cruise +, cruise - and RES and make sure they are set to none. It looks like there could be some default button remaps on these. Make sure the pinlock feature is disabled in the Tazer too. Then you should have a good experience using the beta firmware on the no limitz 24.1.6 firmware.[..]

Received an official confirmation re: Tazer disconnect and its settings:

Tire size is a Vehicle Setting, which will stay.

Hood Alarm is a Live Feature, which will not[....]

I did not lose settings when disconnecting tazer. I have it hooked up now, but do think it is draining battery...got the aux switches temporarily unavailable this morning for the first time since replacing battery... Might disconnect tazer and just ;live without live functions. Turning MDS off and sport mode has definitely decreased my fuel economy, but will monitor this.

Rather disappointed to have to disconnect the tazer and lose the live functions. Also, turning the MDS off has dropped fuel economy from 13 to 11.5. Will monitor that.

Part of me (that like's messing with stuff) just wants to get a supercharger and tune....another part (that just wants things to work and not have to mess with them) wants to take no limitz off, put tazer back on and just enjoy it the way it was........

I averaged 9.4 mpg on my trip last week. Almost all highway.

Yes, MDS off. It's always been around 10.5, since I put on the 40s
Thanks. I disconnected taser yesterday. Just went back out and plugged it back in. Was able to access menu in run position with engine off. Tire size was stock 34.something. Thats probably why fuel economy lower than expected. Changed it back to 36.94. That will help. I know that it should probably be 36.5 for the ko2 but 36.94 is going to make speedo read a little high (just a tiny bit) and help keep me from speeding :) My fuel economy estimates might be inflated by 1/3 mpg or so.... I'm gonna run it like this and not access menu until I get some guidance from z.....If it messes up again, probably going to take nolimitz off until they come up with a fix.

I do wonder what ZAutomotive is doing to bypass MDS, It must be doing something more then just preventing the engine from going into that mode. I really did'nt think MDS made that kind of difference in fuel economy, something else is going on?

When I installed my NoLimits, my mileage dropped 1.7mpg. This is on 40s with 5.13s, no hot dogging it. I didn't buy it to turn off MDS, I bought it to block key cloning (which can be done now at the dealer free of charge). I turned my NoLimits off.

The Taser and NoLimits work fine together if you don't install the beta. While I am anxious to install the new features, I don't have the time to troubleshoot. I'm waiting until the final version comes out.

So the MDS seems to gives roughly about a 12% fuel savings in the real world. I would love to have the TSB for the Key cloning applied at the dealership but just going their just brings up bad memories on my 18 JLUR, lol.

I do wish I had waited a bit longer before purchasing the NoLimitz, hope this is something that's isn't going to end up being a bad purchase and just sitting in my toolbox never to be installed.

Wranglers have enough problem's without the owners inflicting more. Plus disassembling and fiddling around with fragile canbus connectors is never a great idea. lol

I ordered the No Limitz the first day of availability, solely to disable MDS. I've had zero appreciable change in MPG.... right now my average sits at 16.1, on 37s.

FWIW

I am wondering if this may be Sport mode as much as MDS? Mine has dropped about 1 MPG from 10.5-9.5 but I’m all short small roads so don’t think MDS was kicking in much anyway.

Do you guys have Sport turned on as well?

I'm not running the beta firmware, so I do not have sport mode yet.

The stable version of the NoLimitZ has MDS disabled by default. No way to turn it on or off. I saw no difference in fuel mileage.

I think I've joined the club of the bricked jeep. Battery went dead overnight. Charged battery for 12 hours and performed a load test. Battery tested bad, replaced battery. Jeep would not start and dash lit up like a Christmas tree. I assume I need to unhook everything. I can't get to the menu on the radio as it is asking for the Anti-Theft Code. Don't ever remember having that, any idea?
