Busted coolant hose (little one under alternator)

I'm pretty sure that part number, 6841171AC, includes the upper hose....I don't know why it's not one piece....

Looks like many of the coolant hoses are sold as an assembly. I ordered the 6841171AC and it came with both the upper / lower hose sections with a reducer between them and something I appreciated - new clamps in the 'latched open, ready to install & release' position.

My jeep has been sitting for over a week now and the dealer tells me there is no ETA on the factory part. They will not use a non OEM part and do the work under warranty. Cluster F.

Here’s the part. Added it to my bag for road side repair when mine finally decides to fail
Just replaced this hose at 63k miles due to this thread. Thank you to those who brought this up as mine was bulging significantly.

FWIW this is a pretty difficult trail repair unless you carry a hose clamp removal tool. The bottom clamp near the oil cooler is very difficult to access even with the proper tools.
I'd recommend a high quality clamp removal tool - with the force I had to apply its unlikely an HF one would have survived.
The one below is from Matco, which I borrowed. Now I own one.

Mine burst at 50k miles also. I replaced it with oem and keep a spare with me, but I’d rather upgrade it.

Is the Mopar part new and improved? Would a gates single hose for 27$ be better. What did Jeep charge for the new hose. Thanks
Nada looks just like the one that’s currently on my 22’

I don’t have a lot of experience with automotive hoses (I know, I’m setting myself up for comments about “hoses” here ) but just how much does this end have to expand during installation? Given the size of the included clamp it looks like the elasticity designed into the hose may be a source of of the problem.

I ordered this hose off of Amazon. It looks heavy duty will probably have to use a larger clamp, but this one looks like it would last for the long haul quite a bit thicker than the stock and they’re supposed to handle 120 psi and is made of silicone.

Is the 5/8 the one we need? Thanks!

I believe so. Will need to be cut a bit but someone in reviews mentioned this being a proactive fix for the 392.

Great! I'll get it ordered. For that price it's cheap insurance. I'll grab a few clamps too. Thanks again!

I saw a post today on a 392 Facebook group where someone replace part of it with brass
