Busted coolant hose (little one under alternator)

Mishimoto just released a larger all aluminum radiator for the Eco Diesel JL, I’m hoping one isn’t too far behind for the 392.

go the replacement part in and swapped on the silicone hose, hopefully ill never have to use it.

(yes I know the logo is upside down, no I cant swap it around its on there too tightly, yes its going to bug me for the rest of time)
Is that hose from Napa or Amazon?

Just my two cents: I ran two Mishimoto radiators on my JK over the years. They look fantastic and feel very well built, but both eventually developed leaks, and they didn't drop my coolant temps at all—no real cooling improvement.

Some experienced guys in my Jeep group kept saying the stock OEM radiator is actually better for off-roading because its plastic end tanks and aluminum core allow a bit of flex under heavy vibration and twisting. I brushed it off at first, but they were spot on. The rigid aftermarket design just doesn't hold up as well in rough terrain.

What actually made a noticeable difference in cooling was better airflow: I added dual pusher fans in front of the radiator. That helped a ton on the trail, where natural airflow is minimal and the ECM-controlled OEM fan doesn't always run at full speed when you're crawling.

Even those "dust-proof" pusher fans crapped out eventually. In the end, the biggest game-changer was installing an RPM Extreme EZ-PWM module. It tweaks the fan trigger thresholds so the stock fan kicks in harder and sooner, plus it adds a manual full-speed override switch. That's what finally tamed the heat.

I'm considering doing the same on my 392, but the module requires splicing into some wires, which the dealer could spot. So I'll hold off until the warranty expires to avoid any headaches.

about 27, 500miles on it. repair the 1st time was 250 last week. hose was replaced with OEM parts and bust yesterday evening back in the shop last night this morning they say its the same hose and to think about the head gasket. IDK
It’s not a head gasket issue. That is a braided coolant hose which should easily handle the pressure. What has most likely happened is when the manufacturer formed this hose into such a tight 90, they didn’t jam it onto the forming pin far enough. The inside of that curve should look like it’s bunched up or wrinkled, otherwise, the outer diameter hose wall will not have enough material and will be thin and stressed to the point of rupture. A common problem with formed hoses.

I tried to order the stock one 68481171ac Tasca but they canceled the order saying it was on national backorder. So I tried my local dealer who also said its on back order but I paid a "premium shipping fee" for when it comes "off" back order and I got it in 2 days. Ended up being $56.

I really think it’s because it goes from 5/8 to 3/8 and it’s a 90 really choking the flow . I replaced mine at 12 k both looks good inside .just my two cents.

saw this today, Ill be buying one as a trail spare.

Nice find… good replacement option

Good idea. Just purchased one for a backup.

The only concern I have is the change in hose clamps. Constant tension clamps (the OEM original) are better suited for coolant hoses than the worm screw type included with the silicone hose.

that is a good point, once i get the hose in ill try and find some on the zamazon and share once found

Everything Mishimoto is premium quality, I have been using their Silicone hose on my H2 Hummer for nearly 15 years, they look as good as the day I put them on. I am absolutely sure this would be far better then the Mopar replacement hose (that has been updated at least 3 times so far)

I accidently duplicated my order and while calling to cancel the duplicate i told the rep that a full hose kit would be nice, and with a replacement bridge price too out of metal (the plastic that bolts on top of the radiator)

A full hose set would be really nice, and prob the only vehicle I've owned where it prob would be a major benefit/upgrade.

And the price of a full set of hoses ?
