@WhiteBronze392 Build

LOL I didn’t read correctly. I was thinking of the hoops so disregard what I said. 😅

I do have to say you and Ted have me shooting for Clayton springs and Fox shocks in the future. I am waiting for the big ballers who will opt for the 3.0’s and see how that will ride.
Lol I was confused.

As for the 3.0’s I did talk to Nick the owner of Apollo Optics who I have bought nearly everything with since my Raptor and he told me that I would not notice any difference between the 2.5 and 3.0 unless I was doing higher speed desert whoop and jump stuff. The advantage of the 3.0 larger body and finned reservoirs are reducing heat buildup from that type of wheeling to keep the fluid temps stable. Honestly I was relieved as I didn’t want to spend $6k on shocks but trust him enough I would have done it if he would have recommended them. He’s in Texas and outfits Baja type stuff. He also recommended Fox over King for the same reasons. Obviously both of these options were more $ so he could have easily pushed me to spend more.

Not saying don’t do 3.0 if you want I’m sure they will be awesome and look it for sure just from my research not sure if the difference will be as noticeable as the $ unless that’s the type stuff you do

Ah, that makes sense as who wants to spend extra if they don’t have to? I may do the springs first and see where I am from there. Mopar LCA’s are going in and then Fox ATS I believe. I have to go through your build thread and Ted’s to see what else I’m missing for must have mods. Thanks again to you and @Ted392 for paving the way for the rest of us!

Many here appear to love the Clayton spring/Fox 2.5 combo. Sounds very attractive in that the combo yields a great ride. very interested in that but worried the springs will ride too hard.

That is subjective of course but I absolutely do not think they do

I agree with @WhiteBronze392

The more I drive the 392 after Clayton coils and with my 2.5 Fox's, the happier I am. I had 3k mile on it before the coils and what difference for me to positive. At 4k miles now.
I learned a lot on this forum. Glad I'm able to provide input to others,,,by spending money! Lol

I agree, this setup not too harsh IMO. I’m much happier with it by far than the stock XR coils/shocks. Understand why you’re being cautious, but my gut is the only reaction you’ll have after installing is “why did I hesitate.”

Installed the BD fogs today and bought a bracket for the Warn interrupt solenoid. BD XL80s will be here tomorrow so will wire them , the interrupt kit and clean up all the mess of lighting wiring I have under the hood and reinstall the skid. I was expecting them to be a little more Amber and thought they may have changed something on the updated version but from what I’ve seen online it’s similar.

Drove it for the first time since winch install and if the front dropped it didn’t by much maybe 1/4” but nothing noticeable fortunately.

Before I work on mine tomorrow gonna help the friend who bought my 2022 V6 install some AMP steps. I am also going to talk to him about putting my takeoff front springs and all four shocks on his. That V6 had a lot of rake to it and is about 1” lower in front that my 392 was stock. It has plastic bumpers and I read they have different springs from metal bumpers optioned with the XR package so they would probably put it level. I am never planning on selling mine and don’t see any way I would reinstall them so they will just be sitting in my garage collecting dust.

Thoughts on this? May put it too high in front due to the less weight of the V6? I don’t wanna help him install them then remove them 🤣 not a fan of the Carolina squat

Nice looking 392! It seems to have The Corona though. Or at least the premium version of it. Lol

Got tired of waiting on FedEx with the XL80s so went ahead and cleaned up and shortened all of the rest of the lighting and installed the power interrupt (yes I scratched it 🥲) Will wire them tomorrow. Going to tie the XL80s and squadron A pillars to Aux 1, LP6 are on Aux 2, rear S2 are on Aux 3 and winch is on Aux 4. Figured there wouldn’t be a reason I would not want the bumper mounted ambers and a pillar ambers on at the same time anyway and I was out of aux switches.

Also now have sting half doors maybe someday I’ll actually have white ones @Ted392 🤣

@WhiteBronze392 and @Ted392 I’m curious if either of you considered making any changes to the front sway bar end links? I know you put the extension on the rear (I can’t do that because of my Rusty’s Muffler Skid install), but how about the front. I’m wondering with extra length/travel from the Clayton Coils and Fox Shocks if we might have an inversion risk with the stock links when the front sway bar is disconnected. Any thoughts?

I'm away from my 392 so and I don't have a picture to show. I believe I was not worried about inversion when I checked both front and rear.

Yeah I have thought about the Clayton ones from their 2.5” kit. I still have not installed the rear extension gotta get bolts. I am going to assess when I do the droop test

I unfortunately can’t do the rear extensions because of how the muffler skid is attached. Looking at the sway bar angles at ride height and doing some basic flex in the garage I think there is possible risk with these coils and additional shock travel lengths of a possible inversion issue. Hard to say for certain but looks pretty close eyeballing it. I’m thinking about putting on the front and rear links from the Mopar 2” lift kit. I checked them out and they add 1.5” of length to front and rear (7.5” and 11” total new length respectively), which I think will give it better geometry.

Good idea I hadn’t thought of them. Are they as cheap as the LCAs?

Yeah, looks to be about $100ish for the full set. Part numbers are 68306981AB (Front) and 68306982AA (Rear).
Awesome thanks. Weirdly I have kinda liked keeping the suspension looking” OEM unless I wanted to go all out on aftermarket track bars, controls arms etc. I’m weird about stuff matching 🤣
