🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

I installed a Warn EVO 10s winch, the Hothead Skyliner headliner for the Sky One Touch top, and added the Redline Tuning hood struts based on recommendations here in the forum. I love the headliner, and it clearly reduced noise. I hope it does the same for heat, but won’t know until tomorrow, since I put it in this evening.

The hood struts would be my favorite all time Jeep mod, if it wasn’t for the cutting involved on the bracket. The dremel tool worked, but that is not for the faint of heart. I added some flat black paint, but that won’t cover up my poor metal work skills! The rest of the install is a breeze. I would have paid an extra $20-$25 to have them provide a replacement bracket. Other than that, great addition that is practical and useful from here on out.

For the winch, I used a Quadratec winch plate and was pleasantly surprised with the fit, install, and overall quality. The winch is a little tight with the grill, but only the wires are touching. I might use some Xpel Trac Wrap to protect that portion of the grill.

It works just as stock, using the same activation both under WOT, and via the dash button. FWIW, GTHaus has the contract for Mopar to design and test exhausts and spent a ton of time tuning the exhaust specifically for the application at every level from engine performance to off-road performance. I've been running their exhausts, including full Titanium systems on all my racer and performance street builds. Fitment and mounting points etc. are all perfect every time. In the tuning community they have a long reputation of the best sounding exhausts too, and that is very apparent with this system on the 392. It has quite a bark, and gives you those tingles on the way up the rpms. And of course the burbles on let-off around town for extra credit. You notice the performance impact right away if you also let it breathe on the front end via a filter box even. (I'm running the K&N fwiw). I'm running 37's, tazer, monster pedal, exhaust and intake, and I dust my wife's stock 392 XR every time, though it's not a 1:1 comparison b/c I have steel bumpers, heavy side steps, but also spare tire delete, so no clue where the weight differences end up)

I was curious and looked at the Gthaus system. Looks like they do not have a rear muffler. They bypass resonators/small mufflers, for straight exhaust, when in Performance mode. Must be quite a bit louder system over stock?
Do you have any audio/video clips of exhaust system?

Did some driveline servicing over the weekend. Changed out the diff fluid, potted the locker sensors, installed some RuffStuff Diff covers, and topped off the transfer case (was about 1/2 quart low).

The black side pieces seem to help w cabin noise. It’s another layers of insulation over the exposed fiberglass. They also have a wood backer

they kinda look like the ones in the TRX but these are specifically for the jeep. They were supposed to go on the grill but they look too sick in the hydro vent

I can take a few more on Sunday when I get back in town. I really like the oak - adds a nice touch to the interior. I did not get the back side window pieces, and even without them both the noise and heat reduction is noticeable.

Headliner came out beautiful, love the contrast with the sarge green!

I do, somewhere in my photos on my phone. It is GLORIOUS. When WOT it is just amazing. Truly the best *sounding* exhaust of the bunch. When not WOT and valves closed (via factory dash button), it is very quiet, and really nice with burbles etc. around down on deceleration etc. Not loud though at all... on par with stock, maybe even quieter.

Took it to the dealer today. First time for issues, several ongoing, most of them intermittent. Prior service was only oil changes. The list is long:
1. Services 4 wheel drive and when posted it seems like it is in 4 wheel lock.
2. Message, rear park sense temporarily unavailable.
3. Both rear windows will not go down with either front or rear switches.
4. Rear window defrost connector detached.
5. Peeling paint on valve covers.
6. Low battery issues, tech to check charging and battery condition.
I am hoping to have it back by the weekend but that may be a little to optimistic.
Jeep Wave arranged for a rental, got a Four Runner. So far average gas mileage is no better than the 392 @ 13.8 avg mpg.

Looks good. Just ordered a set of these for mine as well. I had them on my JK prior and they are hands down the best all around AT I’ve had. Enjoy!

Really nice! Did you just update the tire size and tire pressure threshold with Tazer mini? I’ll get one when I upgrade to 37”.

BTW, do you feel any acceleration or steering difference since the new shoes are bigger and heavier?

I used the OBD JScan app along with my OBDLink MX+ and an ECRI security gateway module bypass to make the changes to the ECU. I don't have quite all the functionality the tazer offers, but it lets me accomplish the changes I need to make.

As for how the tires affect driving... yes, acceleration and stopping have been affected, and the steering feels a tad heavier, but the differences are minute. I think with a few more days of driving, I won't even be able to tell.

If you check out the charts, you’ll see MT Baja Boss A/T has good Dry stopping distance result and good snow traction/handling. However, the wet stopping distance is longer. Just something to keep in mind when you drive in rainy days.

Running the same ones on mine and used the taser mini to adjust as well.
