What did you do to your Jeep 392 today? 🛠️

Finally got around to installing Tazer Mini yesterday. Very straight forward install. Added SGW Extension cable, however I had very little issue removing factory plugs from SGW. Trick for me was, make sure tab on plug is pressed firmly with index finger, you can feel it move, and gently pull on wires with small finger from other hand. Still configuring settings.

For those who don't use a Tazer, I found a video that shows how to disable the audible seatbelt ding, if driving with belt unfastened, ie. off-road.
Procedure....With engine OFF, seatbelt connected, foot off brake, position ignition to Run position, then quickly connect/disconnect seatbelt 4 times (leaving connected the last time), return ignition to OFF, disconnect seatbelt. This disables seatbelt audible ding, still shows warning in EVIC. However you don't hear it.

Also discovered the AutoPark feature, that slams transmission into PARK, if moving forward at speeds less than 1.7 mph, with foot on brake and you open or have driver door open.
There are two situations that disengage AutoPark, without use of Tazer...
1. Seatbelt is off.
2. Driver door harness is disconnected.
Thanks for the annoying seatbelt fix!

Trade + cash for some brand new stock XR wheels/tires.
Didn’t have time to remove spacers but will tomorrow.

Anyone out there want to sell a 5 set 25 bolt trim rings? Long shot, but oh well.

Nice. Looks good I’m leaning towards those skids as well.. just kinda wanted ARB diff covers. But those skids do cover diff fins nicely .what oil pan skid do you have?
thanks.

Thanks. If you stay with the stock covers you will need the shim plates as well. I'm using a M.O.R.E. aluminum engine skid. Fully covers everything including the cats. PITA to install though.

Thanks 10-4 on extra shim plate. I think with those skids you don’t really need a diff cover .

Installed Dana Spicer Dana 44 Advantek diff covers front and rear.

Installed Redline hood struts today. Very easy mod to install. Why did I wait 11 months do this? I bent the bracket instead of cutting a notch in it.

we finally got the Next venture Rock sliders installed by local welder that did a fantastic job a few weeks ago. It’s been too yucky in seattle area to take good pictures since then. But thought I would add a few now and better pictures later. Love them and even though the XR jeep is on 35s, I can still get in and out of jeep with no issues! (I’m 5 ft ’1” tall) we love them!

Right. First time I pulled in garage, I happened to open drive door to look for clearance and the Jeep slammed into Park. "D" was flashing in my gear select, and I had to move shifter into Park, then back to D and close door to finish pulling in. Tazer is supposed to disable this AutoPark feature.
But for those without a Tazer, AutoPark will not engage if seatbelt is off or driver door harness is disconnected (doors removed).
AutoPark was the first thing I disabled with the Tazer! Then the horn honk when you get out with key.

First mods on the new 392 XR:

Winch Install / End Cap Removal
Installed a Warn Zeon 10-S and a Factor 55 flat link. I actually had the rope guard as well, but I could not get those damn rivets in to save my life, so I left that off for now. I had originally planned to go with the platinum, but I decided I'd rather have the wired remote and physical disconnect lever than deal with the battery discharge issues on the handheld remote. I do think I'll eventually change out my fairlead to a black one.

Grab Handle Install
These were super cheap amazon specials, and I don't love them, but they get the job done for now. I'll eventually change them out.

Fire Extinguisher Install
My kids got me the mount for Christmas. It works pretty well. This is the Badass Moto Fire Extinguisher Mount. It is definitely secure and doesn't make a sound or move.

I also used the opportunity to reorganize all my recovery gear. I still have much more to do, but this is a decent start. Next up (in roughly this order):

  1. Name decal (already ordered, just waiting for it to arrive)
  2. Lights (probably a-pillar or on a winch guard)
  3. On-Board Air (can't decide between power tank or arb dual compressor)
  4. Comm Systems (GMRS & 2m/70cm rig). Until this, I'll be using my handheld radios.
  5. Bestop Trektop Ultra
By the time all of that is installed, I will have had a chance to wheel this quite a lot, so I'll have a better idea of how I want to go with suspension/tires. Most likely, I'll throw some 37s on there, beadlock rings for the stock wheels, and a lift of some sort, but I'm not in a huge hurry because I love the stance of the XR package now w/ the 35s.

I have to assume the NOCO is an AC-DC charger so you are plugging that into the 110 VAC outlet in back seat? How will that interact with the BCDC 1225?
