🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

Took it on the obstacle course at Jeep Beach today. I honestly don't know what I'm doing with it, never really took my TJ off road outside of some sand trails, but it ate up the course. Pretty easy when you can just hit the gas and it climbs anything. Probably went too fast over the tires but it just bounced over them. Only issue was I went over the seesaw too fast and the logs popped up as I exited and slammed into my bumper. The bumper itself was fine but the logs caught on the plastic plate insert and ripped it out completely so I rode home with no tag at all lol. Going to order a new one, looks like it just pops in.

The plastic insert for the license plate does pop in and out. Here's the part number -

Thanks! I thought that was it but thanks for confirming. Calling dealer this morning to see if they have one bc everywhere I looked online is sold out.

At least your halfway done once the correct ones get here. Would love to see pics of this once done if ya don't mind... I feel it's gonna look and feel killer paired with that 392 sound!
Still waiting for them to ship the correct one out. I’ll definitely take some pics once I get it done though.

I did some electrical work and installed new lights plus an Anderson plug to be able to charge my batteries in my teardrop while towing, also a new stubby antenna too. Busy weekend. :)
A-pillar: Morimoto 4-banger amber combo pattern (Aux3)
Rear bumper: removed red reflectors and installed Baja Designs pods with the wide beam pattern (Aux 2)

All work great!

Looking great!

I noticed you have a lot of heat discoloration on your muffler, as others have reported but mine still looks brand new. Wonder what's up with that.

I dont know for sure but doesn't your 7 pin trailer wiring harness have constant power for charging the battery in your trailer? Maybe not enough amps?

Yes, the 7-pin is worthless for charging. I could drive all day and still wouldn't get a full charge. I run Lithium batteries and installed the Victron 30amp charger. Fully charged in 3hrs!
I don't know why the discoloration and every now and then I get a smell like something is burning. Can't reproduce it for the dealership and no other issues so far, so that is just the way it looks for now, I guess. Maybe I should install the muffler skid plate so no-one can tell? LOL!

I did, rock hard to hide it

Ordered HEMI emblems, short antenna, amp power running boards. Building custom brackets to tow behind motorhome.
Plan to paint or powder coat bead lock rings to match red or the gold like the tow hooks. Haven’t decided
May I ask what hemi emblems your ordered?

I finally started removing the gold from the Jeep. It started growing on me but I think it will eventually all come off. BTW, the Incredible Hulk is not dead, he is installing and torquing rear tow hooks at the Jeep factory.

Hey - I would be very interested in seeing your tow brackets for behind the MH. I used to tow my JK behind ours and I'm looking for options for the 392. I don't like the way the current aftermarket selection is from Roadmaster and BlueOx. Thx!

Just a thought on the heat discoloration.................Peak muffler temps would be dramatically affected by exhaust flow and temperature through muffler. Running engine hard for prolonged periods of times, like multiple hard pulls to 60 or 80, running 1/4 mile, dyno, long steep hills, pulling trailer uphill.............you get the idea.........all of this would spike muffler temps. Also running engine in quiet mode would send more exhaust through muffler. Perhaps people with the discoloration could comment on driving style and exhaust button usage. I haven't noticed on mine, but that kind of thing doesn't generally bother me. I don't think mine has the discoloration. I drive in loud mode all the time, and am actually easy on the 392 most of the time. I don't drive like a baboon, but do stand on it when passing other cars and sometimes just for the fun of it.

@Anayanation Auto: YT - to add on to what @Viking Jeeper posted for the link to the skid plate; the picture in the link does not show a 392 dual exhaust, but that is the correct skid plate. I know, because he sent the link to me and I ended up getting one for my 392. The folks at Rock Hard are very good at responding to questions as well.
