🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

Inspired by you, I did the same. Had to enlarge that hole a few times to have a nice fit.

You may have done this already but if you trim some of those support ribs, that ridge will flex more and sit down in there a little better.

I did not do that, thanks for pointing it out. Will check it out.

I got rid of the grey inserts on the front grill/lights. Bothered me from day 1 along with the Jeep emblems on the sides and the 392 hood hood emblems. I had custom side badges made with matte black and gold. I got the grill insert from Just for Jeeps, it’s a Mopar paintable item. I just left it matte black. Hood emblems next, changing the grey to black. It’s the little things…RockKrawler X Factor ordered several weeks ago with Fox 2.5 DSC reservoir shocks…springs
Ben, is this the part number you used for the grill? ----> 6KM36TZZAA - I took that from the Just for Jeeps website. That black looks reaaalllly good.

Also, how hard was it to swap that out? Lot of prying? I've got Xpel on that grille currently so I don't wanna bang it up too much. Your input is appreciated!

Yes that is the part number. @Shockerracing did a pretty good video on it when he plastidipped his grill
The grill itself is super easy to take off. The mesh is next and he gives some tips on how to do it. Just keep those pieces in order so you can easily put them back on. The inserts come out next.
Yes, several clips but none as difficult as some others I’ve encountered on a Jeep. Took me less than a hour and that included re doing some lights I have mounted behind the grill.
The insert it actually paintable and comes as one piece so you will have to cut the tabs off that hold it together for shipping. I didn’t paint it, the matte black is what I was going for. Have a blanket or something down on your work space do you don’t scratch it. Easy mod

I think I am going to swap in the Mopar black satin grill and from pictures it looks like it also includes the black light surrounds. I'm pretty sure the correct part number is 82216097 but I don't think I have every seen anyone install that part.

That’s the whole grill and from the picture of the back of it it does include the all the surrounds and the mesh.

Love the look of the dash. Do you have a link or the part numbers to order
6AC241K5AA-6AC261K5AD are the part numbers

Do a little price shopping, but I think that is about what I paid for mine. Took 3 months to get here...

Installed leather dash panels. Take about 1.5 hrs. Pretty easy overall. They match well and give they keep a more upscale feel. Took 3 months to get them from Mopar Backordered. These come stock in the high altitude I believe View attachment 4820View attachment 4821

Just for the record...... 22 392's comment "classy" was not in reference to my dash.............it was when someone gave him some rather radical recommendations regarding his diet. Scroll back up and you'll find it.

Got around to installing the fender flares that are on the XR package. Pretty easy install. With the new wheels poking out a bit, I liked the look of the XR's I have seen in this forum, so I bought a set and put them on. Very happy!

I didn't care for the flares when I first saw the XR. Guess they grew on me and with 9" -12 offset wheels thought I would try them. Like them, looks good on yours too.

I put the fender flares on also. Here in PA we have a fender law. I'm running -12 offset and 13.50's, so I stick out a bit. I'm hoping my effort keeps me from getting a ticket.

Installed Curt 13392 hitch receiver. The longer version than regular one. Made in USA nice quality. But I still need a hitch extender to clear the spare tire to fit my 4-bike platform rack. It’s been working very well.

Based on other recommendations here I installed the Air Lift 1000, kit 60926. I like how it turned out. I'm hooking up the teardrop this weekend for a trip to test it out. I'm hoping it will eliminate the sag and keep my headlights from pointing up. 🤞

@PNW392 - works like a champ! I have had a couple of different trailers hooked up since I installed the same set-up. Recommendation - I use a bicycle pump to fill them. I had used my portable air compressor initially, but it filled them up so quickly past the recommended max 34 - 35 psi that the one on the driver's side popped. Air Lift sent me a replacement overnight at no charge.

PA doesn't let us have any fun. I got a used TJ a few years back with spacers and large wheels/tires. Place inspecting it made me take off the spacers and buy wider flares to cover the tires.

I installed a Roadmaster Exact Center. I ordered this back in february shortly after I got the Jeep to address wandering in steering. Since then after tightening steering box, longer lower control arms, synergy sector shaft brace and driving it, I had the steering to where I was happy with it.

This arrived a couple days ago and I put it on. Really changes the feel of the steering. Gives it a strong return to center and a very positive center position. Noticeably increased resistance when turning off center. This is awkward on long gentle curves as you are applying more force than normal. I do like it going straight down the highway as it holds straight much better. Resists wind better. Jury is still out. At first I didn't like it. Now I think I do. I called the company to ask about returning it (in case I decide I don't like it). They said not a problem. They will also swap it out at no charge for different pressure. Mine is the 140 pound version. Think I might be happier with a 110# version, but will see. Company has been good to work with so far other than taking so long to get here, but I think they have got their production worked out.

I am not the one to ask question about this, as I am still trying to figure out if I like it.
I'll answer as best as I can, but don't know how useful answers will be ;)
On other JL forums, there are whole threads about Roadmaster and Exact Center.
