Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

So this is interesting. This may be known already, but these are only going by sold orders and it looks like most dealers just get 2 allocations for those sold orders as far as I can tell so far.

I saw that Granger is doing MSRP, but it could be the case this time that going with a smaller dealer may be a better deal since we're going to see a lot more competition for the two allocations at the larger dealers (already know of a larger dealer that's going with 25k ADM on theirs).

It's going to be hard for dealers to make much movement on the Level II Rubicon orders, since they can only really play with the price of the Jeep itself. AEV has MAP pricing, so there likely will be little to no wiggle room on the price of the Level II package.

Only two items I wish were on mine that are from the 20A is the Mopar Rock rails and the air compressor. I like factory items that serve an aftermarket purpose. Having rails with a useable step should have been an option on the 392, I would have checked it for sure. Everything else, there is no jealousy for having the 20A over mine.
Grandmas392,
you can find a pair on Facebook Market place (they come up from time to time). I ordered on my wife's '23 Rubicon but like you couldn't get on my '23 392, when her jeep came in I liked them and they replace the current rock rails and have a minor 3 inch step. I found a pair for $450 taken off after a month on a Sept build '23 4 door wrangler. You can buy new from BAM online parts but they are about $900 and then $100 for shipping. As a pair (the 4 door ones weigh 70 lbs for pair vs. the current Rubicon Rock Rails that weigh about 54 or so pounds (a pair) so not much additional weight.

Good luck , Mopar part number is 82215165AB (Heavy Duty Rock Slider with Step Assist)

I personally want the 83 piece tool roll to keep in the 392....

Can confirm...

My very small, local dealer said only 2 per dealer.

One of our forum sponsoring vendors got back to my email and stated that they are looking for a 25k markup on all 20a orders (no thanks).

I have an appointment to go sit with the dealer owner at my local small dealer and wait for the orders to open tomorrow. If he'll let me, I might just fill both of his allotments.

It seems I'm in the minority since I like the red interior of the 20A. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit jealous of the exclusive interior color. Oh well, I guess there is always the 30A to look forward too.

A few problems with the red interior...

It shows dirt a lot easier (ask 10A owners), so it requires more maintenance.

It just doesn't work with some colors. Too much red on Firecracker Red (and the reds aren't the same shade, which would drive me nuts, personally). Too "Christmas-y" on Sarge Green. Straight up clashes with Punk'n. Would look horrific with HiVis. White, silver, black, hydro, granite, it would look okay, but I still think it's just really gauche looking, personally.

I personally also think the red dash is too much. They should have gone with the High Altitude black leather dash with the bronze stitching for the 392 variants of the 20A, if they were going to do a leather dash. Would look much more refined and less "circus clown puked on the dash."

I also think, since the 20A is either going to be offered in the 4Xe or the 392, they should have gone with black seats, black leather dash, and either light blue or bronze colored seatbelts (IF they were going to go with an accent color for the seatbelts at all). Personally, I'm not a fan of the colored seatbelts, but it would have looked a hell of a lot better than having blue or bronze exterior accents, with red seats / seatbelts / dash.

I didn't put the red accents in my TRX either, just not a fan of red especially with the Granite exterior.

I loved the 10A seats. I loved the 392 Concept red seats. I just don't love the darker red or the split black/red of the 20A.

This was beautiful imo. I lowkey still want one.

Where was the 83-piece tool roll shown / announced? I would like to see how it compares to my Step22 Panagolin Tool Roll.

The good news is, you can get them on the cheap now, since the 10A didn't do anything to bolster the resale value against other 2013 Rubicons in the long haul (which is how I predict things to go for the 20A Rubicons without the Level II AEV package).

Same on all counts except using both allotments of my local folks, though it would be tempting. heh.

I have an appointment tomorrow AM at a local place and will be waiting to hear from my other local place. As long as they're giving me MSRP, I'll be happy. 25k ADM is a bit crazy, but they'll probably get it.

I agree that red may not work with some exterior colors. That being said, red interior and white exterior is my all time favorite color combo. Again, not everyone's cup of tea. However, I've would've jumped on it if it was available.

Red interior on the Sarge Green reminds me of the vintage Coleman 200/a Christmas Lantern. Who's into vintage Coleman single mantle lanterns? :)

Thanks for the photo.

I think I'll stick with my Pangolin, unless this thing is cheap enough to make it worth buying just for the tools, and I'll transfer them to the Pangolin and leave my nicer tools in my toolboxes at home.

Good stuff to hear! I don't have a Facebook account, but the wife does. $450 is fair. I'll have her see if she can find them here. She is who wants the step option. My only requirement is I don't want something that couldn't be ordered from Jeep directly on my 392. Keeping it OEM or bust. So MOPAR or nothing. I don't like the regular plastic ones at all as an option. For the roughly $1000 to get through the dealer or via other means that has me saying no since I couldn't get it on the sticker as built. Thank you for this heads up, and if you happen to see a pair pop up you know someone who is interested and has two (y)
