Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

Also asked AEV if you could change anything, like wheels or shocks. No changes.
I just got off the phone with Joe and he said differently lol. He said options to add on or change are:

Beadlock wheels
Splash guards
Fuel Caddy
Diff covers
Bumper light bar
Backup camera
Recovery kit
8100 shocks
Any of their wheels
Interior hard top paint

He said only things not able to be added or changed was like painting the dash or painting the wheels. He did say the badging will be a little different. One on the back right rear and the passenger door will still get a plaque, it'll just be a special 20A one with a special vin on it. Biggest different is no AEV windshield banner.

Thanks for calling and sharing! I'm a little sad to hear that.

Edit: Well, maybe we could change things! I guess we'll wait and see.

For selling it in the future, it would take a good eye/invested collector to tell or even care that it was the 20th A AEV vs just some other AEV job.

The plaque on the passenger door will always be the key on an AEV build. He said this one will have a special 20A plaque to show it's one of the 150. Will that matter down the road? Idk but it's cool imo.

Agree, especially if they're numbered either straight away (like '9 of 150') or somehow through their 'VIN'.

Only two items I wish were on mine that are from the 20A is the Mopar Rock rails and the air compressor. I like factory items that serve an aftermarket purpose. Having rails with a useable step should have been an option on the 392, I would have checked it for sure. Everything else, there is no jealousy for having the 20A over mine.

New grille: No
Hood scoop decal and side vent decals: No
Steel rock rails: No, my current one is better
Tri-hoop: No
Red leather seats and dashboard: No
10 Bolts simulated ring: No
1/2" suspension lift: Yes
Price tag: No
On-board air: Nice but No

I agree on the rails. Should have been an option on the 392 (especially the 392XR). Easy enough to add later, but still frustrating to not be able to buy them from the factory at a lower price point.

If the air compressor is not an ARB Twin, I am not interested unless the tailgate controls / gauge can be tied remotely into an ARB Twin. I would think it would be hard for them to stuff even a ARB Single into the tailgate in a serviceable fashion. Maybe the compressor is remote and the controls only are on the tailgate?

Red interior! 🤮 Also not a fan of the bronze outline on the side graphics or the wheel change and if they're going to mount the 3 bar to the bumper they should have put in a winch standard. I do see they picked the best color for their advertisement model though... ;)

So this is interesting. This may be known already, but these are only going by sold orders and it looks like most dealers just get 2 allocations for those sold orders as far as I can tell so far.

I saw that Granger is doing MSRP, but it could be the case this time that going with a smaller dealer may be a better deal since we're going to see a lot more competition for the two allocations at the larger dealers (already know of a larger dealer that's going with 25k ADM on theirs).

Well i have to say finally my 2023 392 Rubicon is on the way, it may not state that its
a 20th Anniversary but in fact it is. just doesn't have the few extras. and i only paid $82000.00
loaded for mine. i save 28k give or take. i think i will be ok. and not really a fan of the Red seats or seat belts.
the rest is easy to do. just my opinion.

Nothing I need, my none XR 392 still brings a smile to my face even though it’s been parked for two months. Decals don’t do much for me, the new grill, meh. It’s not horrible and it would surely grow on me but red seats that’s a deal breaker for me. Other than that there isn’t anything on the 20A that I can’t bolt on myself and I just finished up my on board air. So I guess even if I was in the market for a new 392 I’d probably just save the money and buy a regular 392. The tool kit looks cool though, would be nice to be able to purchase those but I’ll bet that will be a limited run item as well.

I won’t be fighting the masses for a place in line, good luck to all those who do.
