Color matched fenders on this 392 AEV Level 2

I didn’t read all 9 pages.
is this what is in debate?

Not a debate but rather folks voicing their personal opinions on the execution of the 20A. Likes and dislikes of features and options. I happen to love everything about the 20A , including the new grille and interior color. While others are not as impressed. At the end of the day we’re all lucky to have the best (IMHO) iteration of the Jeep Wrangler in the 392 trim.

The fit and tolerances of the AEV bumper (one of the highest fitting bumpers on the market, due to their stamped nature) helps hide the lower lip of that grille and definitely makes it look better than it does with the factory bumper.

The dealer @Dandeery I ordered my ‘22 XR, and got a great deal for well under MSRP called me today and asked if I would be interested in ordering…..at the fine offer of $10K ADM…….definitely a no. The way I see it I can put onboard air, get a great Snap On tool kit and some stickers and I’m $25K ahead on this 20A joke

My dealer told me the same thing AEV one or 20A 392 is a 10k markup…

My local dealer where I ordered my '22XR is checking to confirm he has allocation and says he will put my name on one if he does. No talk of ADM and I paid MSRP for the '22 (price protected at the december 2021 price, so about 3-5 grand less than the same vehicle when I finally picked it up 6 months later). We'll see if he comes through for me on this one. If it's not at or below MSRP, I'll kindly pass.

Awesome. i hope it works out for you

If I can order one at MSRP and no add on, I do that right? $500 deposit and figure it out later? Lean to just keeping my 21 but I feel like a 20A at msrp would be a good investment. AEV package or no?

Why would you order this and not get the AEV package? You know you want it. I know you want it. We all know you want it.

Bc I probably wouldn't keep it. I'd rather just send my 21 to AEV honestly. I really don't like the split color seats, honestly. They should have just don't all red like the the 10A and the 392 Concept. But at $115k, idk if it'd be worth ordering to flip it.

Only 75 392's will be made with the AEV package

Only one 2023 392 XR was made that was ordered on 8/23/22 from Glendale DCJ in Sarge green, built on 12/7, sent to AEV for the JL370 Level II 20A ultimate badass conversion and picked up by me on 1/27/23.

So you think they'll be worth more than the $115k msrp? Dealer is calling me in the morning when they go live, guess we'll see. Worst that can happen is we don't get it in in time or I'm out $500 if I order it and it's not worth flipping when built.

Like with any thing Limited, people will always want them down the road, that maybe couldn't obtain one right now. It's worth MSRP 100%, $10K markup, not sure. Look at the Raptor R, they have been going for $160K+, when MSRP is $111K and some change.

A low mileage ‘23 392 20A edition will be a future collectible down the road.

Eh. Unlikely. "Down the road" is already sort of here for the 2013 10A edition... They are not holding their value any better than comparably-equipped non-10A 2013 Rubicons with similar mileage. There is no certainty that a standard 20A 392 would hold its value any better than a standard 2023 392. The 20A Level II 392? With only 75 of them being made in the 392 variant, and a significant difference from the standard 392, it is more of a possibility that they become a collectible than the non-Level II 20A 392.

The Wrangler that has best held its value is the LJ Rubicon Sahara, and there were only 1,000 units made. Every other special edition Wrangler before and after the Rubihara has not held its value as much as people thought they would at the time "down the road."

Even the Red Rock Edition JK. It was limited to 100 total units, but it was not different enough from the 2013 10A Rubicon, 2014 Rubicon X, or the 2015 Rubicon Hard Rock before it, or the 2016-18 Rubicon Recon after it. This is the same problem the 10A Edition has.

The other problem the 10A and Red Rock Editions had, beyond being more or less indistinguishable from the Rubicon X, Hard Rock, and Recon (other than stickers / emblems) was that the red leather in the 10A puts a lot of people off. Some like it, many don't. The Red Rock only came in red. Some like red jeeps, many don't.

A 20A Level II 392's only competition would be other 392s sent to AEV for the JL370 package (which is to say, not many), and the most direct competition would be 2023 392XRs sent to AEV for the JL370 package (which is to say, even fewer). Some may seek out the 20A in particular. Others may prefer an AEV JL370 due to the interior not having red leather, red seatbelts, or a red leather dash.

I, for one, am happy that my 2023 ("20A") 392XR that was sent to AEV and had the JL370 conversion (aka more complete "Level II package") has the standard grille, black leather interior, black seatbelts, and does not have a red leather dash. Could you change these things? Sure, but then their value as a collectible is negated because the most valuable collectible vehicles are those that are unmolested.

That's my thought process on it, but I'm definitely not going for the AEV package. Frankly just don't think it's worth it and long term, I think a pure Jeep (not upfitted) will hold its value with more future buyers. Of course, that could be completely wrong. I'm just not a huge AEV fan, so it's not for me.

Good analysis, but like with anything, everyone likes something different. Thankfully, two 20A 392 options. Secondary market for AEV equipped jeeps is good. They sell well on the AEV forum.
