Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

Not totally on topic with this thread, but on the 20A thread over on the JL forums, someone linked this:

Seems odd. Last year June started the 23MY. I guess I remember MYs starting in March before, but damn, that seems early.

And not to deviate from my other question, but is it just me, or are these pictures of the 20th Anniv. shown on the Jeep website on a granite crystal metallic Wrangler, or is this actually Sting Gray and my eyes just deceive me?

The original concert vehicle was in granite crystal metallic as I recall.

Doing a little more digging, it appears that the 20th Anniv. 4xe is available in GCM, while the 20th Anniv. 392 is not.

Go figure…

That would seem real odd to do a change over that early, although I believe they did that with the JK phase out JL intro. I’m very curious to see if the 20A 392 was the ‘last call’ for the Jeep 392 similar to the Dodge last call editions for the Hemi, and whether the MY24 ‘performance Jeep’ will be the 3.0TT.

🤣 will it still be a 20A if it gets bumped to a 2024 model how they did with some 2022’s 🤔 it actually makes sense now why the stopped the XR saving parts and fueling craving. It’s a weird coincidence that it seems like a bunch of 392 XRs went into production right before the 20A announcement. Like ok we’ve got the parts for them build the others lol.
FWIW, somewhere in all of the order/hype information, I saw a blurb about Jeep expecting to deliver the 20a's in Q2. That'd be nice as I have a trip to Wyoming planned for August.

That could makes sense. GCM is still available for the 4xe regular order banks but not on the 392. The odd thing is that during the reveal in Chicago yesterday they mentioned the 9 colors that the 20A was available in and GCM wasn’t there. I guess they were only talking 392s (the importanter 20A ;)).

Hmm, a cool possibility is like the Gobi XR thing, if someone had a high velocity 392 on order not scheduled yet and the dealer was somehow able to convert that order to a 392 20A. Possible unicorn. I wouldn’t want it since the red interior with HVY would be vomity, but it would still be cool if someone else pulled it off somehow.

Seeing how the ordering process went today I’m not sure how someone could make that work, but crazier things have happened. Could a dealer pull up a nonscheduled HVY order and convert it over to an order with 27T package? Admittedly I’m too ignorant of the dealer ordering process/abilities to say.

I hope so for those that ordered but that would be record time compared to current orders.. Q2 starts in 1.5 months and ends in 4.5. Average times from what I’ve seen seem to be about 7 months as of now. They may prioritize the 20A which would pi$$ off lots of people who had orders in prior but maybe that’s what the extra 10k gets

@392OVRLND and @KungFu392

Please knock it off. This is a valuable forum for people who love their rare, expensive, powerful Jeeps. We have all done something right in life to get here. Be happy with what you have. If you need to continue this I suggest a DM.
I agree 100% with this Viking……it always knocks me on my ass how wound up the pissing matches can get…….after reading all this BS about who knows most about aerodynamics and other crap…..I for one vote to have a go fund me setup to get these boys to a wind tunnel and settle it once and for all! Once they are done with their rigs in the tunnel then they can stand face forward in the tunnel and see who can piss the farthest. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Getting back on the track in regards to the 20th Anniversary edition…

Does anyone know with certainty whether the “20th Anniv. Rubicon 392 suspension” as listed in the 27T package is truly a 1/2” lift compared to a standard 392 XR, or is it possible that this is actually a slightly shorter/softer spring than the standard 392 XR has, and that the 20th Anniv. could actually sit slightly lower than a standard 392 XR?

In which case the 1/2” lift referenced would contrast the 20th Anniv. to a standard non-392 Rubicon.

I doubt the latter is the case, but just wanting to get the input of others.

It is the same lift the XR has on it. 1/2" over a standard Rubicon 392. People get confused because the XR (and, the eventual 20A which is just a 392XR with appearance package) also have ~35" versus the standard Rubicon's 33" tires, which adds ~1" of additional height, so they assume the XR (and, the eventual 20A) has more suspension lift than it actually does when they look at it against a standard Rubicon.

Where's my got dang wind tunnel you promised?

To be fair, you've posted your Jeep in every 20A discussion on the internet. Don't get me wrong, it's a great Jeep, but it's not a 20A and not relevant at all to any of the discussions.

Not relevant? It's literally the prototype for the 392 20A Level II package. Sure, it doesn't have that funny grille or that circus interior, but "not relevant at all to any of the discussions?" Puh-lease.

How much of this 20A discussion is intertwined with the Level II Package by AEV, which is essentially a standard content AEV JL370? Quite a good deal of it.

Go crawl back under your rock, I personally think the AEV front bumper is hideous. But to each his own, I’m one hundred percent positive that there plenty things about my Jeep that people think is ridiculous. I was making a joke that clearly offended you and your shitty cocky personality. This thread isn’t talking about one persons Jeep so I can give my opinion about what I think. I’ve been on this forum longer than most and one hundred percent of my post offend no one persons Jeep. Keep your negative bullshit to yourself or get off this forum. Damn….reminds me of my 16year old cocky son. Think before you text douche bag

It's cute you think I give a single, solitary shit about how long you have been on this forum (or any for that matter).

Speaking of 16-year-olds, you sound like one. "I WAS HERE FIRST, MOMMMMM!!!! WAAHHHH" :ROFLMAO:

It's not a 20A. It has the same lift and bumpers but so do a lot of other vehicles out there outfitted with the AEV kit. Those guys aren't out there posting like you have been. No offense but you've come across like a smug dick across every 392 forum since you got your Jeep delivered. You shit on any possible purchase bc your Jeep is better to you. You have a great Jeep, just chill with shoving down everyone's throats. Literally every fb post you've commented about having the prototype for 2 weeks. Like wtf lol

Dude seriously put down the drink and step away from the computer

This is me sober. Happy to have some whiskey 'round a campfire and talk shit in person, though. I'm more charming that way.

Sorry I had just enough drinks to reply. Hope everyone is having a good evening.

Hey, as long as you're not still thinking about the size of my schlong, drink up and talk shit... 😬:ROFLMAO:

Well said. I know I’m new here but I don’t even read updates on his build thread anymore because of this just roll my eyes. Long time member on the Raptor forums and reminds me of the Shelby Baja Raptor people “I paid more for aftermarket bolt-ons so I’m superior to you peasants” lol

Damn… what did I miss? Butt hurtin, name calling, sober people, drunk people, people offended of what others think about their rigs.

Press pause, I going to get some popcorn and beer. 🤣

I pissed off a few guys on another forum for saying I take my 392 off road after they were complaining about “dumb asses who spend $85k on a rig and take it off road”.

I said owning a 392 and not going off road was like having a hot girlfriend and not banging her because you’re saving her for the next guy.🤷🏻‍♂️
I think my popularity has declined on that forum.
F**k ‘em. My money, my toys. ✌🏼
