Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

I had an AEV lift on my JKU. My dealer installed it and I was under the impression it didn't affect any warranty at all due to it being done that way. But also, dealers have some say in what is covered and what is not based on their opinion of course.

@392OVRLND and @KungFu392

Please knock it off. This is a valuable forum for people who love their rare, expensive, powerful Jeeps. We have all done something right in life to get here. Be happy with what you have. If you need to continue this I suggest a DM.

This is why I’ve been sitting on the side lines as an observer to this form for the past few month, darn shame..
So have you decided not to buy a 392 now that you've seen a couple of disagreements on the forum? I sure hope not because they sure are fun! If so, you must be new to the internet. :ROFLMAO: Everything will be OK. I promise. :)

I was literally about to send it on a "welcome to the internet" comment...

I guess you're not ALL bad. Just 99.9% bad. :ROFLMAO:

Well... don't get too comfortable, according to @Viking Jeeper, we're both pretty bad. :ROFLMAO:

And trust me... I get way worse. ;) I haven't even had anything to drink yet! This exchange has been pretty mild and technically, it wasn't really off-topic, but I guess the softer skinned members might be getting a little "uncomfortable" by a little spirited debate. Makes me wonder how people actually handle driving the beasts we're all here talking about!

Like with any thing Limited, people will always want them down the road, that maybe couldn't obtain one right now. It's worth MSRP 100%, $10K markup, not sure. Look at the Raptor R, they have been going for $160K+, when MSRP is $111K and some change.
Good "investment" - no. You want a good investment, buy Berkshire Hathaway shares. It's a vehicle and a depreciating asset. In 30 years - maybe, but those Berkshire shares are almost guaranteed.

Don’t let things like this deter you. We are all guilty of getting a little over passionate about some stuff occasionally. To me forums are like TV stations. Sometimes you want to see a happy story, sometimes a sad one, but occasionally you want to see mud wrasslin’ and that just happens to be part of this channel right now. 😂

Talk of resale value reminds me of toys sealed in original packaging. Don't know about you but I don't have a lot of great memories of MIB GI Joes. My best Joes had missing hair, broken kung fu grip fingers, and more scars than they started with.
or you're afraid to bang your hot GF because you want to keep it tight for the next guy...

Jachi, you haven’t been to the JL wrangler forums or the B6G forums, have you? ;):)

I got this directed at me on another forum:

”Go troll elsewhere...if you want people to pat you on the back and brown nose your smug a$$”

:sneaky::LOL:

Got done getting upset at this type of internet stuff way back in the early 2000s when I posted on video game boards. I’m sure you can all imagine the rabid pointless arguments that get started among video game geeks. Lmao. One of the best ones was going to the Nintendo forum and telling them that playstation was for men and Nintendo was for kiddies. Oh the memories.

In terms of the AEV package, I’m wondering if a bunch of people selected it on their build at the same time right around 1 EST. Since they weren’t ‘sold out’ they were able to be selected. Then all of us put our orders in during that first half hour or so. So now they have a butt ton of VONs with the AEV upfit charge attached.

My order went in at 1:12 EST. We started right at 1 EST and I was standing with the dealer/manager going through everything. I don’t think we could have gotten it in much faster tbh *shrug*.

I’m wondering if a bunch of the AEVs went to people who actually work at dealers.

It just seems so odd that we’re left hanging on the AEV (for the people who tried for it). But like I said earlier, I won’t be crying myself to sleep about it. I was so peeved that I couldn’t get a 10A so this makes up for it and I’m cool with the non AEV. I really don’t like any of the AEV wheels as much as the XR ones either (which I don’t like as much as the non XR wheels).

Now assuming I don’t get an AEV build, do I do it eventually. Probably not, but hmmm.

Getting back on the track in regards to the 20th Anniversary edition…

Does anyone know with certainty whether the “20th Anniv. Rubicon 392 suspension” as listed in the 27T package is truly a 1/2” lift compared to a standard 392 XR, or is it possible that this is actually a slightly shorter/softer spring than the standard 392 XR has, and that the 20th Anniv. could actually sit slightly lower than a standard 392 XR?

In which case the 1/2” lift referenced would contrast the 20th Anniv. to a standard non-392 Rubicon.

I doubt the latter is the case, but just wanting to get the input of others.

And not to deviate from my other question, but is it just me, or are these pictures of the 20th Anniv. shown on the Jeep website on a granite crystal metallic Wrangler, or is this actually Sting Gray and my eyes just deceive me?

The original concert vehicle was in granite crystal metallic as I recall.

I wanted to go back to the upper body graphic. When I was going through the order bank I was avoiding all the mopar add on crap that we can get after market, but I did add the upper graphic again (don’t like the lower graphic, but love the upper). Below is the pic of mine on my current 392.

Can get it after market though. Also, if you get the upper graphic (and I assume lower) from the factory, it does not show up on the half doors.

Yah, this got me as well. I REALLY wanted GCM on this thing and am a bit bummed we couldn’t get it. My 75A was GCM and I loved it. Depending on the light, it could take on hues of gray, bronze, purple, or black. Such a cool paint job.

If they were being honest with what we could get, I’m guessing it‘s Sting. Every color looks metallic on the Jeep website...blue is actually purple, purple is actually green, flat is actually metallic, stripe is actually polka dot, etc. Worst color renditions ever.

When JLs first came out I saw ocean blue online and fell in love. Then I saw it irl and vomited in my mouth (not personal to anyone with an OBM jeep, just my opinion).

If my half doors don’t match, I may just say fug it and wrap the whole thing in as close to GCM as I can find.

Congratulations on being the 679567587th armchair automotive engineer to comment on the lights blocking airflow.

Air moves like a fluid, not a gas or a solid. Check out a book on fluid dynamics. Here's a hint... water moves like... a fluid. If you could drive the Jeep underwater, would you bet money that the bumper and lights would significantly reduce the amount of water that got through the grille? I'm a betting man, and I wouldn't touch that bet.

AEV did a shitload of aerodynamic testing on the bumper and lights to ensure there were no issues.

Oh, and that hood scoop is functional, too, ya know?
Go crawl back under your rock, I personally think the AEV front bumper is hideous. But to each his own, I’m one hundred percent positive that there plenty things about my Jeep that people think is ridiculous. I was making a joke that clearly offended you and your shitty cocky personality. This thread isn’t talking about one persons Jeep so I can give my opinion about what I think. I’ve been on this forum longer than most and one hundred percent of my post offend no one persons Jeep. Keep your negative bullshit to yourself or get off this forum. Damn….reminds me of my 16year old cocky son. Think before you text douche bag

Well on another note my dealer called me yesterday and told me mine that I ordered in July should be delivered the 20-28 yay!!! and ask me if I wanted to order a 20A I guess he thinks since this is my second Jeep from them in 7 months I would say yes lol. I thought about it but declined for a few reasons. Would be basically the same Jeep I’m about to have delivered but with some stickers and badges and the red interior which is not for me. I would also feel weird about modding it since it’s a special edition. I definitely wouldn’t do the AEV thing I like a few of their parts but not the package. Part of the fun for me is building it myself the way I want.

Congrats to all who got their orders in! Can’t wait to see them pics in 2024 lol

Edit

If it would have been exactly like the teased “show” 20A without AEV involved and the same price as the AEV option I would have ordered. .

Hey, they said they’ll start showing up in quarter 2 to dealers. Though they didn’t say which year...so Q2 of 2024 probably.

I’d be ok with that. I gotta get my current 392 paid off before I get this other one. Man I want to keep both of them, but I just can’t justify it.

Also, speaking of options, I don’t remember, when I was looking at the order bank, my eyes skipped over all the options preceded by the word “Mopar”, but was the doors off mirror kit available? I’m surprised a little that didn’t show up on the 20A. Is that available aftermarket?

🤣 will it still be a 20A if it gets bumped to a 2024 model how they did with some 2022’s 🤔 it actually makes sense now why the stopped the XR saving parts and fueling craving. It’s a weird coincidence that it seems like a bunch of 392 XRs went into production right before the 20A announcement. Like ok we’ve got the parts for them build the others lol.

Totally. You’d think they’d be able to somehow keep track on how many parts they need at any given time, but it certainly does seem like they recently said “Ok, here’s what we need for the 20As, now we know we have the parts available for the rest of these other XRs we ‘promised’ people.
