Power Steering HOT Warning?

Not sure what you mean by "disappearing gas on my gauge issue". Do you mean the gas tank level, per the gas gauge, is going down without driving it?
I know you addressed your question to to "Mike in moss beach" but here is what I have experienced with "disappearing gas". When I'm parked in the garage on flat ground, I back in, with the gas gauge reading between 1/4 to 3/8s full all is well. When I pull forward on to the driveway that has a slight downward slope and leave the Jeep there for a few minutes the low fuel warning comes on and the level indicated on the fuel gauge is either barely visible or even with the bottom of the gauge's range. I suspect that the fuel sending unit is in the rear of the gas tank and the fuel moves away from it thus providing a very low reading. My concern is when off roading and headed downhill for an extended period that the Jeep may actully be starved for fuel at some point as generally the fuel pump and the sending unit are co-located.

***sigh***
I know we all accept that new vehicles have gremlins, but man I wish Jeep would up their QA just a notch. Posts like these are too frequent for an $80k vehicle.
You have to keep in mind that it's still a Jeep... not a BMW or MB. This same identical vehicle from a luxury car company would easily be $150-$200k. I wish they didn't have any problems either (mine has been in the shop for 15 days now for them to try and figure out why the rear diff is locked after changing to 4.56 gears)... but it is what it is.

Are the various 392's mentioned in this thread a 2021's? Just curious if the first year blues are playing themselves out. I also wonder if FCA is aware of the fuel issue.

To close out this issue. Took the Jeep to a dealer and the ECU module gave voltage errors. They did some exploring and it turns out that the steering module and other systems are all in one unit...which has a ground wire hooked somewhere on the frame. They said that the bolt holding the ground wire came loose over time (which explains the progressively come/go issue of power steering going out). The bolt was not making contact or was gone the lack of ground caused the error. They reestablished the ground for the steering module and it seems OK. Granted a little looser in feedback...maybe from having to crank of the wheel without PS to get the car home and to the dealer. So there you have it. No power steering or an Hot Power Steering message. Check your steering module ground. But now, my hazards randomly turn on......JOY!!!!
Thanks for posting this up @Furrzeta - my Jeep had the power steering issue plus a whole entire list of electrical related issues - I was able to pass along the info that you posted to my dealer and it gave them a quick direction on the fix. Apparently, the loose ground caused an arc in the electrical system that fried the alternator as well - hope to get the Jeep back soon!

Took mine into the dealer told them about the ground issue etc cus power steering light kept coming on (total three times) randomly and I video taped it . They said fuse 31 was blown and replaced it. Haven’t had it happen since and I just drove 800 miles nearly non stop from North Carolina to florida again

7994 miles, and PS system hot came on. Under acceleration, getting a little sideways. Was -9° when it happened. Went off after about 10 minutes. No noticeable changes with steering. Haven’t checked e fluid yet.
as for fuel, I’ve noticed that issue as well. Usually after sitting on an incline/decline. The motor hasn’t turned off. I’m thinking if that happens, the pump isn’t getting fuel. Given the elongated fuel cell, this isn’t a surprise.

I just had mines happened to me as well but I just need to top off p/s fluid, its under the min

No issue here but the other day I topped off the fluid to the middle of MAX/MIN. It was below MIN cold.
Now when the engine is hot, the level is right at MAX mark. Just a peace of mind.

Did the same to coolant due to low level.

Mine just turned 3,430 miles, and the "Power Steering System Hot...." came up... I'm glad you found the answer. Cheers!

Do you think the same weakling person that puts the fuses in is also in charge of tightening that ground?
Also I wonder how many 1000’s of gallons of various fluids they are saving by just filling everything to a minimum level?

Any chance you know where this ground is located?
A pic perhaps?

I've had the power steering hot light several times. Power steering pump started leaking fluid and is currently at the dealer for replacement of the power steering pump again. This will be pump #3. The first pump I had replaced didn't even last 250 miles before leaking. I feel like the pump is getting hot which caused the seals to start leaking. I put a power steering cooler on before the pump started leaking but still got the power steering hot light. Makes me think its the heat off the engine heating up the power steering case. I might try installing a heat shield between the engine and the power steering pump.

I feel bad you are suffering with these issues. This is not something that is affecting mine or a lot of others so I highly doubt it’s a design issue.

What size tires are you running? What do you air down to?

Power Steering System Hot comes on mines very intermittently, but only happens when I'm flooring down the highway, and the light turns off when I come to a stop and the light might not come on again till maybe a week, sometimes even a month after. does anyone know where the ground cable is located for the p/s pump or what ever ground cable gets loose?

I think it's funny that in one of the 2024 review video's (sorry I do not remember what one it was) the guy is in the middle of his review and says something like "Power steering hot... that's not good"

Just watched that video on Truck King channel titled “2024 Jeep Wrangler in-Depth Review” at 12:10 mark.
