JEEP ISSUES

So I got a kind of an update from the Dealer. It’s in a holding pattern right now. It’s actually been escalated to Engineering. They think it’s a one off meaning no one else has ever had this problem and they have no fix for the solution as of right now, they think it might be software related so they may have to rewrite some software could take a week could take till 2027
JFC

If you're willing to wait, I'd at least expect them to give you a loaner during that time. Or ask for a trade-in on something you want.

Not sure what I would do , not sure I want another jeep or fca product at all , they gave me a loaner finally , but I made they very aware this is not a Lic for everyone to dragged their feet , told them they have till end of sept , or I’m taking the jeep back and getting a lemon law lawyer

So the tier 3 engineer is having him the test the camera feed cable to the rear. It’s a low-voltage differential signal that can wreak havoc on other modules like the heated seat. They think it might be shorted . we’ll see they also said it was the radio the heated seat module ,the camera control module. Parts cannon

Round 5 now they they think it’s a bad radio again .to date they have replaced the radio , heat seat module , camera module twice , software update
Camera feed cable , now they want to do the radio again

I still think they should have identified a component or circuit issue during the pin out test. Otherwise, its a common mode issue, like the CAN Bus junction block.

Update still at the dealer , they r waiting for a radio , this will be the second one . Been at the dealer since august 26th

I have to admit, this one scares the crap out of me for longevity and it makes me wonder what happens 7 or 8 years from now when Jeep has moved on to another UConnect version. If they can fix an issue like this now what does the future have in store for us?

They r now saying engineers may want to chance the whole body wiring harness . Its endless. That being said Thursday will be 30 days out of service at that point its lemon law

This is totally insane,

The engineers need to get their butts on a plane NOW and either fix the problem for good or Jeep owes you a brand new vehicle or a buy back. It's obvious the tech's at the dealership don't have the knowledge or expertise to fix your problem. You have been more than accommodating and given them the benefit of the doubt.

It's time for Jeep Management to either step up or open their wallet.

I think time has come for an attorney! No more nice guy on your part.

At this point, I don’t understand why they don’t buy it back. Fix it, then sell it. A whole body wire harness seems extreme.

Yes , they would need to rip the whole jeep apart to replace that , which is another guess at best , when is enough, enough. They have replaced the heat seat module , camera module twice , radio and screen twice , rear camera was swapped out , camera cable was swapped , software was updated on the heat seat module . It’s been there since august 26 , sept 24 will be 30 days . I’m not authorizing the harness to be replaced at this moment, I want to see what the lawyer says thru , jeep denied one buyback a week ago . The dealer made a comment yesterday, about the 30 days almost being up .im positive the techs and the dealership r getting their diagnostic remedy’s from engineering, engineering seems to be throwing the parts cannon at it as well .

I'm so sorry. I'm following this thread like a hawk though hoping they make right by you.

So now guess what module they want to replace the BCM . I mentioned that module 27 days ago I believe you mentioned it to me. an engineer flew in today, looked everything over said the wiring looks fine blah blah blah, and said the BCM

Fantastic, now we might be getting somewhere! Keeping our fingers crossed!
