It's these stories that remind me that automobiles are not built with the same level of system safety as commercial airplanes, where I spent my career. That leads my thoughts to the next concern about driving to remote places or in extreme conditions, where a breakdown would be life threatening. Just don't do it, without a layered backup plan.
