How do they get stolen?

The bracket most likely require the use of an extension cable. I have never understood the reason behind the extension cable. They say its so you can remove the Tazer easier if taking to a dealer but dont you need to remove the cable also, which would be the same as removing the unit itself.
You leave the extension cable installed after removing the Tazer. It gives you easier access to the connectors so you don't have to stand on your head to disconnect and re-connect it. After removing the Tazer you connect the extension cable to the connectors.

As other people have already commented: If they want it, it’s gone. There not much we can do other than making more difficult for them to steal.

I have Ravelco, use a club, dash cam, locking hood latches, full wheel locks, including on the spare. Plus a cable lock on the spare. Keep the fobs in a metal box at home, far from the 392, which is always in a locked garage and behind a large property/driveway gate. Issues get a bit more dicy when out in a public parking lot. There, the skumm-bags can possibly grab your fob code if they’re near you as you leave your ride. Thus, the security of the Ravelco and deterrent of a PIA Club. We do our best! 🙏
As far as a fob code snatch in public areas, I carry my fob in a faraday pouch and lock the doors with the power lock switch. That helps for the moment anyway. I also have a well hidden fuel pump kill so that would take time. Nothing stops a tow truck though. :(

I guess I was thinking you had to put the factory plugs in place and to do that you had to take the extension cable off.

I just did a video about the Z Automotive Tazer Pin Lock to help prevent theft:
Pretty cool video, thanks! Do you know what happens if you're running doorless as far as carjacking mode goes? Would it still activate?

That’s a great question, in that case you might have to hit the off button as you’re getting car jacked so that when they restart it they need the code. But I’m not 100% sure on this.

I agree. I would think that the extension cable would be unsecured at the end of the oem harness. The box looks like it secures the oem cable (or the extension) to the tazer though. When I get the TRX version, I'll post here.
Good Point! Thought the Tazer can be secured to the one end of the extension harness, the other end can be disconnected from the OEM end and then the OEM end could be reconnected to the other side of the OEM connection. Not sure if disconnecting the extension from the OEM Cable will defeat the the PIN lock function or not. I have the extension cable on my Jeep and am waiting on a bracket from BrawlerFab. Perhaps the instructions for the bracket might provide some insight as to how it secures the entire system not just the Tazer on to the extension cable. I can see that it would be quite effective if installed directly on to the OEM Cable ends.

The optional extension harness is intended to stay plugged into the factory security module that is not in use when your Tazer is connected to your oem harness. The extension cable is not intended to go between the tazer and oem harness although it can. With the other end of the extension cable hanging down from the factory module it makes it much easier to reconnect your factory security module to your oem harness when removing your tazer for dealer service or if you chose not to run live settings. Its purpose is so you don’t have to bend down or feel around in the blind to connect and disconnect your factory module.

I originally thought that the extension cable was to make mounting your tazer easier, but after trying to figure out why it’s so hard to disconnect from the factory security module it clicked in my head what the extension cable was for.

I can’t tell for certain but it looks like BrawlerFab’s security bracket can work without being mounted to anything. It may be a universal tazer mini compatible accessory that it’s mounting location is up to the owner. I’m not sure how many suitable locations there will be with the short length of the oem harness but I’ll definitely post a picture if I find a good mounting location.

Just a heads up to anyone running the hood alarm feature of the tazer, if your battery goes completely dead you’re in for a good scare once you connect a jump box to the battery (if your jeep was locked). And don’t keep your jump box stored under the floor in the cargo area. If your battery goes flat you can’t unlock the rear door to get to it, ask me how I know. 🤣

Thanks @Marine2146, I will revisit the amount of difficulty involved in disconnecting the extension cable from the OEM harness and then connecting the OEM harness to the factory junctions under the dash to see if there is sufficient deterrent as well as determine if a security device of some sort might be developed for that end.

I’m not familiar with the TRX set up and how difficult it’s OEM harness is to deal with as far disconnect/reconnect. However, I’m thinking that the TRX harness is easily disconnected and reconnected without an extension cable making the BrawlerFab security device the ideal solution without the possibility of a work around to defeat it, could be wrong though.

Anyone here have experience with disconnecting and reconnecting a TRX harness to install a Tazer?

They won't carjack but once if I am sitting in the drivers seat, and that will be the last time they ever carjack as well....

Have a system like this on the TRX but they don't list any Jeeps. Anyone know if this would work? Seems like a great option, especially with a locked hood to prevent access to the relay:

Yep got the Locking Hood Hasp, and the Mobilistics Remote with Starter Immobilizer...works like a champ, I can remove it and throw it in the Console while in the backwoods of Arkansas, then when I go to DFW I install it and use the Mobilistics Remote to start my jeep....get TWO remotes...it is cheap for the security it provides...install it in 3 minutes...Lock your Hood, good to go...
