2026 Jeep Wrangler Moab 392

It's around the 1500-1800 rpm range, open or closed. I had it with stock exhaust, upgraded to AWE switchpath for more aggressive tone and hoped the drone would be less but it's even boomier.
Here's a thread on it
Thanks, I will check it out.

Curious to see if the Moab suffers from the exhaust drone some of us '24 MY + are impacted with.
I cant see how the guts of this vehicle would change and therefore I would fully expect a complete carryover of systems. BTW, I believe all years have some level of that issue but my 2021 has never had any issues with it.

Yeah I would agree. It's a mystery to me why some of us experience it and others don't. My severity can vary on the day too. 🤷‍♂️

And my '24 has absolutely no drone no matter how you drive it.

I'm of the opinion that it's a "user" issue not a Jeep issue.
You saying my ears are too sensitive?
They might be, although my music is always turned up to 11, so I don't know... 🤘

Thats been said before. I have never been bothered by any noises with mine but some people are really annoyed by theirs. Not sure how they can be different.

Like my dad says, sometimes it's the arrow and sometimes it's the Indian.

Didn't realize how subjective my comment would be. Not going to bring that one up again.

It’s all good, but you have to realize that most people are buying the 392 because of the V8 and the harmonious sounds it brings. Any drone sound is just consequential to having that beautiful V8 in my opinion.

That being said, my wife has let me know she’s not a fan of the noise lol. She also doesn’t like having to climb up into the cab and thinks the seats are way too hard. That’s why I bought her her own daily luxury car. 😁

Don't confuse my comment with complaint. I love everything about this rig, including the harmonious sounds it brings. Excited to see more people get their hands on a beautiful V8.

That's funny, my wife stole my 392 (and always drives it with the loud button on) and made me get a TRX... 😅🍻

Some level of drone is not unexpected, but the affected 392s with this drone problem are entirely Next Level Drone. In fact, my dealership shop foreman diagnosed this drone on his work order as "loud and untolerable". I'm no stranger to V8 motors, and I have louder V8s, without resonators, and none of them exhibit this brutal drone. Again, Jeep's own shop foreman opined in writing that this level of drone is not tolerable. I surmise he knows a thing or two about what is expected and within tolerance levels for drone.

Also, MRT's assessment (see the drone thread I created) also supports the affected vehicles drone at a level that's not acceptable.

So, if you don't have the drone, thank goodness, but if you do, it's a real problem. The only "user" mitigation strategy is to ensure you stay out of the drone range by manually shifting. Otherwise, it still holds the gear in either normal or off-road +, and builds that massive resonance....

FYI, I have email Jeep's CEO, Bob Broderdorf, asking for a telephone call, and I have forwarded him the Dealer's work order with the shop foreman's diagnosis. I sent him our forum link to the Drone thread. No reply. Eight emails sent, beginning in August 2025....

No offense but I wouldn't start holding my breath that the CEO of Jeep is going to respond directly via Phone! to emails about an issue that may or may not be affecting >1% of owners. 🍻

No offense taken. It’s at least worth a try to advocate for those of us affected by this drone problem.

It is a shame that we all live so far apart, I would love to give someone experiencing the drone a ride in mine and then they could show me how their 392 sounds.

I know I already hijacked the thread with my comment on drone (sorry), but to keep it from going on more I recommend drone talk head over to that thread.
