Who's selling their 21-23 392 for a 24?

They created a solution to a problem that didn’t exist and made windshields more expensive 🫣

Yep, exactly. FM antenna is not an issue at all. If they've been looking for a poorly designed antenna actually there is one - Sirius XM. In their infinite wisdom they've decided to put it on a rollbar hence why it doesn't work with a roof top tent. One would think people use their Jeeps to go camping pretty often and satellite radio comes pretty handy in remote locations. 🤨

A catch can solved my smokey startups, so I guess agree to disagree
If you had smokey startups, the catch can did NOT "solve" anything... it just hid it. Sounds like you have excessive blowby. I would have a compression test ran.

I am not trying to high jack this thread but I guess I should have mentioned this before but it did not smoke during every start up, just randomly. Just a few weeks into ownership it was completely checked over before adding the catch can and nothing was found, not even a Hemi tick the next course of action for diagnosis was to tear into the engine but with no real obvious reason that was not advised. The service garage even replaced the PCV valve. I knew the tech who did the work and he said has seen the same thing on a few heavy duty ram trucks with the 6.4 as well. He was the one who really explained the purpose of the catch can and after reading through the tread about catch cans here and on other forums I am not seeing any more oil in the can after a certain amount of miles than anyone else. No blow by either that was my first thought and other than what is caught by the can no oil consumption. Still purrs like a kitten.

Yes, with my Gobi rack on my JKUR I lose the satellite signal. I added a second GPS/Sirius antenna to the panel between the hood and windshield. I just ran the wire through the firewall and plugged it into the radio instead of the factory one. Easy, looks like it should be there and works great.

I will have to do the same mod :)

Keeping my 22 - 392 :
- Electric seats with no memory function 👎 I wonder if this will actually raise the seat height more to fit the electric motors making seat height worse?
- New Display: I’m all for big screens but not at the expense of that round vent in front of my right hand on the steering wheel. Perfect placement for those cold winter morning 🥶. Honestly I use my phone for everything anyways with the 67-designs mount.
-New Winch with mega bumper, window antenna, red seats… Don’t need it, Don’t want it, really?!?
-The only thing I want is the floating rear end and the side curtain airbags. I am sure someone will soon figure out how to add those to an older JL.

The Mouse is right. With port injection you can get away without using a catch can, but why? It’s like my wife and the garbage disposal. She dumps everything from a dirty plate down it. I scrape all the food scraps off in the trash can then put it in the sink. Guess who does the plumbing? 🚮 All that junk has to go somewhere… why not an easy to remove receptacle? Catch Can/Trash Can.

I’d be willing to bet you will be able to buy the new full floater as a crate axle with in a few months. I can’t imagine Jeep went through the trouble of redesigning the original suspension just for the new axle, so should be a direct bolt on. Just my thoughts.

So been going back and forth with my dealer... still haven't decided if I can live with the new grille, and there's no way I can stick with HVY with that red interior, so that would mean the death of SpongeBob.

But, the FF rear is really drawing me, and I know there has been a ton of discussion on it since it didn't specifically say it was standard on the 392 at press release, but I'm all but certain (I trust my source) that towing is indeed 5,000lbs as it will definitely have the HD full-floatier.

Here's some info on options/standard equipment on the trim lines:
Yes it will have the axle, but a good source said that the towing will not be increased on the 392. Not sure why.

I thought it was determined that the tow capacity remained the same due to cooling capacity for the 392. 🤷‍♂️

Towing generates a lot of heat, and with no way to dissipate the newly added heat, it’s less than ideal.

I know in my 3500 Duramax, towing capacity really started shooting up for the L5P engine when GM made significant improvements to the cooling system for the engine.

I'm still having trouble seeing the upgrade for the 392 specifically. No towing benefit and more unsprung weight just doesn't add up to an upgrade from my viewpoint.
Maybe if you offroad it HARD AF on a regular basis and break an axle and just happen to have a spare and all the tools and know how to change it on the trail the "tuffer/more easily replaced than semi float" argument could be made but who actually does that?
And then there's that pesky front axle that could just as easily break. On a 392 the floating axle is pretty worthless to all but the 1 percent.

Heard the same.... just didn't make any sense, as the current rear end has the same towing rating, which was based solely on the rear end. So, I have to assume it'll also get the new rating, as we know there certainly isn't a limitation on the 6.4L. While Jeep has released the info that all Rubicons, including the 392, will have the FF standard, they have not explicitly said the 392 would have limitations. From what I can tell, the rumor came from a couple forum members here and on the JL site that did NOT see that the 392 would have the FFRR, so assumptions were made. So, at this point, I'm assuming it will be a 5K rating.... but only time will tell us for sure. Local dealers certainly haven't been able to answer....

So wishful thinking and eager optimism on my part.

Totally agree.... maybe that's the whole reason for the Renegade grille? They're selling it as more efficient cooling...

You ordering a 24? If so, what color?

It didn't come from random forum members, it came from Scott Blum and he confirmed several times on FB group that 2024 392 will come with FFRR but towing capacity remains the same. So most likely it's not a rumor.

I wasn’t really saying it would be a good or bad upgrade. I just figured it would be offered as a crate axle sooner or later and to those who do see that as a worthwhile upgrade but don’t want to buy a 24my could probably add the 24my fullfloat to their current 392.

Still considering… and it would be Anvil without any other considerations . Ordered a 10th Anniversary way back in late ‘12 or early ‘13 but the wife convinced me that we needed an Expedition L to haul my daughter and friends to and from competitions all over… which put me on nearly a 4-year Jeep hiatus. Totally regretted that move. So the Anvil with Red interior is my “second chance.”
Had an ‘82 CJ and an ‘87 YJ in high school and college and have had a Wrangler in my garage every year from 1992 through early 2013 and from 2016 until present ever since starting the “adulting“ thing - the Anvil with Red is my unicorn.
