🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

I installed small rubber tube in gap (rock catcher) between fenders and body of Jeep. Pressed in with small plastic pry/removal tool. Seems to have worked out great. There are a couple of install videos on Youtube.
Purchased rubber tubing from Amazon.
.276" outside diameter, .206" inside diameter, 25' long.

After picking it up yesterday I installed the full Tuxmats, shorter black antenna, mopar door sill guards, removed the front bumper end pieces and swapped the 10 screw rings to my 2022 V6. I did not realize until looking at side by side pics the 392 XR wheels do have a slight bronze tint to them compared to the V6 XR. I am still trying to decide on tires for the innov8’s

Not that this has much weight but I was talking to the GM at the dealership who has a 2021 392 while awaiting final inspection and he said for sure this was the last year of the 392 but they plan on replacing the “halo” wrangler with a 500+hp hybrid

I'm interested in installing the Clayton Offroad Performance Coils. Do you have a XR 392? I was wondering if you noticed an increase in lift. If so, how much?

I’m also interested to hear how it drives with the Clayton performance coils. Looked at that last year and haven’t decided. I don’t have a winch, the stock XR springs have been working fine. Just the up travel is really limited. Was hoping this set will level the front maybe 1/2” and improve on-road performance.

Same here these are on my “list” lol

Yes its an XR. I must preface that I have the rear sets deleted and have a winch. The stock springs are way too soft offroad for my liking. The front constantly bottoms out on the smallest items <20 mph plus the stock front bumps are more for a smart car than a hemi... unless of course youre street only.

I have yet to go offroad with the new setup since they just got installed yesterday however I can say without a doubt that I can definitely feel the difference on asphalt because it now has much more of a sports car feel (firm but not stiff/harsh).

The coils have yet to settle since I have less <10 miles on them but the initial difference is ~1" in the front and ~1/2" in the rear which means the front is leveled out now. Its enough to notice the difference with the naked eye as you can see by the second photo.

All that being said, my real assessment will come once I get it offroad again but so far, Im extremely please with the new ride quality on asphalt even though I wasnt originally unhappy with it.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Sounds like the Clayton performance coils teamed up with the Metalcloak DuroSpring bump stops will be a great solution for me. I daily drive mine, every time I pass the steep bump at my son's school, it's a hard hit. The while rig bounces from one side to the other no matter how slow.

Appreciate the feedback as well. I'm going to place my order of the coils and the longer MOPAR LCAs. I've also seen reviews that the Steer Smarts Sector Shaft brace combined with an aftermarket steering stabilizer can help to further improve handling/steering response. My goal is to get the 392 to drive as well as my Bronco on-road while still retaining all of its off-road capabilities.

@EquipAndExplore chances are you probably have read through this: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/mopar-lca-swap.22474/

Tons of useful info to avoid some frustrations if you’ll be swapping the LCA by yourself.

Love the Titan 7 T-AK1 setup. This is on my very short list of mods for my BW 392 XR.
Awesome, you’ll be the second or third person in the world running em on a jeep 😄. Very uncommon, but I like em lots . I have to use a spacer - think it’s 1.75. For me - it was a decent price for a super light weight and strong (forged) off-road wheel. I daily drive mine and so I try to keep weight low where I can, especially unsprung. Also my reason for going with Artec aluminum over MC skids.

They definitely get more love from the street tuner crowd. I think the -1mm offset will work well on the factory XR 35" setup. My understanding is that the XR wheels are +12mm offset. The black looks sharp on the BW, I'm on the fence and may pull the trigger on Techna Bronze.
