🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

I got my Teraflex tailgate hinge reinforcement yesterday and I should have time to install today. That thing is HEAVY. Funny thing is the answer to more weight is more weight.

It is a rock and I think was the heaviest package out of all of the parts I’ve ordered so far other than the winch. Curious how the install goes for you. My shop said it took them a while to align everything, and they had half the back torn apart to install it. Good luck and send some pics when you’re done!

I've been working on it while ATT was here running fiber for internet. Pretty smooth so far, I'm about to start the alignment process.

If you have not finished and have not applied the stickers on the inside of the tub hold off and drive it a bit. Then go back and re torque the bolts. I drove around for a week then checked everything again and they had settled in a bit and did require tightening. Still haven’t applied the stickers.

Hehehehe. Unfortunately I live in Mn. It will be a bit till the top comes off. I had to try it out. I choose not to drive it in the salt. So it sits and awaits April or May.

Good advice, I do have that subwoofer panel rolling around back there.

Finally finished up the JK and got started on the 392. Added front and rear Maximus 3 shackle mounts. Painted them with bed liner to get a textured finish kinda like the bumper. Also got the Maximus 3 winch filler plates. I used riv nuts to bolt them down, Maximus suggested threading a factory hole. Also removed the factory tow hooks and bed lined them as well.




I also got a start on installing my air compressor. I was going to mount it under the passenger seat but I didn’t like how much it stuck out the back. I do like the way some companies mount them behind the rear seat but I couldn’t find a mount I liked. So I orders some molle panels from Built Right Industries and made a few bends and I think it’s going to work out well. I have some gusset plates to cut out and a mount to secure it to the inside of the fender behind the carpet but the concept is there. Plan on running 2 gauge cable from the battery to the compressor to save on amp load.



Also got the mounts made for air chucks to mount under the front seats for easy access for tire inflation and a mount for my commercial two way radio under the drivers seat.

Installed the Diode Hitch Mount light this afternoon. Overall very easy to install, used it tonight and it definitely added additional light when reversing.

I mounted 2 pair of Rigid 4inch 360s on the cowls. It’s their first round series. I used GoRhino double mount. As per another thread on here I bought some M6 80mm bolts and also some 1 inch rubber washers to protect the paint under the mount. 2 of the lights beam are spot pattern and the other 2 are driving pattern. They have backlighting as well, mine are red. Used the Aux switches #1 for all 4 beams for now and #3 for the back lighting. I was worried the mounts wouldn’t be very sturdy but they are actually very sturdy and well made. No vibration at all this morning at 85 mph. Very very bright, seem to throw more light than my light bar on my JK. I ordered straight from Rigid but they didn’t have exactly what I ordered so they reached out to some of their 3rd party venders to fill my order. They look really good in person

Not a huge rigid fan but those are some really nice lights Of course I ran across this thread after purchasing Mopar lights for the same spot.

Installed my rugged ridge sill protectors, a grille on my Kicker subwoofer, and found spots for my noco jump starter as well as my “oh shizit” tow strap. I call it that because if a cotton headed ninniemugger like myself ever needs to pull that out, we are all in serious trouble.

It's the factory emblem from the 19-22 Challenger 392 black badge package. Best price was from QuirkParts on eBay, they're a FCA dealership in MA.

AAL made their own bracket to work with the Synergy quick release. I was thinking about fabricating the bracket on my own as a fun project, but ended up giving up that idea and bought the set.
