🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

Not sure if you already had the Armorlite, but I really like it. I wouldn't have had a clue that it existed until it came with our Jeep from the factory. I'm sure the Sound Assassin will make it even better. Fun stuff!!

Hi @B.Davis - I did not have the Armorlite installed previously, I did have it sitting around in storage. I wanted to do the install of all these things at the same time as it just made sense. It is great, and works super well.

I reduced the "noise in the car by almost 20db, and can hear the family conversations now. Well worth it.

Only thing I have found is the stuff I have stored under the seats no longer stay in place, slide around a bit. Its a trade off, but one I don't mind as its so easy to keep the interior clean, and I don't have sand seeping through the floor mats anymore.

Lifts, 2 post and 4 posts and 392 are a necessity. Racedeck is good too.

My shop is divided up into several bays. The one with the four post lift is very high up to the rafters, so it's perfect for that lift. I also have a back section with a typical 10 foot overhead clearance that I think I might add a mid-lift to. Getting the 100 plus pound wheels and tire combo off of the four post is an exercise.

I'm also considering the possibility of bolting a mid/scissor lift onto the existing 4 post runways as an alternative to using the bridge jack to pick the wheels off the lift for wheel and suspension work. It'd end up being a kind of hybrid lift, but I suspect the scissor lift might be in the way when I'm working on other stuff.... so I'm leaning towards just sitting it o the floor in the rear bay to use fro swapping tires and such.

Got to experience a couple days of wheeling at VA4WDA Fall Run in Oak Ridge Estates (Arrington VA) on Friday and Saturday.

Our 392 performed well and only came back with two or three minor dings or breaks....most significant was the oem rear plate bracket pulled put the tabs

The addition of the MetalCloak skids earned every penny over the event eapecially the front diff skid. Got lucky I did not set off my airbag as my buddy and the spotter looked away as I was pulling away from a rock garden and i tagged the front diff and the truck stopped cold.

Got unpacked from the camping and wheeling and cleaned off the truck a bit but want to spend some upclose time inspecting the underneath and front linkage tomorrow

Traded the 24 Bikini for a 25 Final Edition in white. I always wanted a white Rubi 392 with painted fenders to match. Sexy! Don’t miss the Bikini at all! I do miss the Borla Attack stage III exhaust but the factory exhaust is pretty tough.

Spent the weekend doing the fender chop with AAL highline light and inner fenders. Bit of time doing the front on Sat and the rears on Sunday. Most of the time spent scratching my head looking at the puzzle pieces in the beginning, wondering how it all goes together.

Productive week, 2 projects done"
RSE Steps:
Finished up my RSE installation work with the addition of edge guards on the sharp aluminum step support. Wifey likes to wear sandels and nearly cut her foot on the edge of the support, they were really sharp on mine, filed then first and installed the edge guards. It doesn't affect the operation.
I also made some cover plates for the bottom of the steps in the rear where all the electrical connections are. Probably overkill considering RSE used weather pac connectors but when you go into reverse in the rain or mud it all goes in there so this resolves that issue.
To finish up the project I had some of the original bronze metal 1941 emblems I attached where the old RSE plates were. Really
adds nicely to the 392 Bronze look.

Also completed the Madonna cone delete. Got the new bumper covers from a non-factory winch Wrangler. Cut the old metal re-enforcement cones off and put them in my Lathe and cut them down to the correct size an Tig welded them back on. Obviously welding them back on was not necessary but I said what the hell its easy enough to do.

The new covers fit perfectly and restore that nice clean look and I won't kill my knees anymore trying to walk between the Jeep and the garage door. lol

-put some extra tape on the slider/steps
-and confirmed I have the typical flashing diff lock, so spent some lunch money at Z auto
