🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

The factory cigarette light is used for the brake buddy, but it shuts off after 15mins. We had an additional cigarette lighter wired in to the battery. The issue is the brake buddy drains the Jeep battery and when you get to your destination the battery is dead. So then we had a Genisis dual battery with G button installed. We still needed to use a jump box to get it started. I have Nothing good to say about the Genisis dual battery system, my shop worked with the tech from Genisis to get dual battery system working correctly. It's been back to the shop several times, it's still broken. But I purchased another Jeep - 392 and did 40's, long arm, ECT. You couldn't pay me to install another Genisis dual battery system. Complete Junk.
Why not just power it from an Aux and set it to turn on and off with ignition?

I too use the Brake Buddy in my Jeeps when towing, an older Classic model. I found that if I have the engine running during the initial start-up and test, then I don't have any battery issues as it doesn't run often. For those of you that are running your battery down, perhaps it is not set properly causing the brake to apply too often and run down the battery.

With regards to the power to the unit, I have a longer cord that will run from the rear cargo power outlet to the Brake Buddy. Fuse F43 can be installed in two different ways so that you have ignition power or constant power, so I set mine up for constant power. According to the owner's manual:
1 — F43 Fuse 20A Yellow Rear Power Outlet
(battery powered at all times)
2 — F45 Fuse 20A Yellow Rear Power Outlet
(powered when the ignition switch is in the ON/RUN or ACC position)

I have seen options to connect the tow electrical system to the toad using the 7pin connection. Lots of DIY solutions on Good Sam forums. There are kits available and For what it’s worth I belive brake buddy also sells a kit to keep juice flowing to the toad.

So I cut off the crash cans (see the thread in Exterior Mods), installed the tailgate table, and threw up some flag graphics in honor of the Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day...

By the way, Jeep really has this thing figured out. The OEM table is a really solid and simple install. Best of all NO DRILLING METAL (like the Bronco table- just made me cringe). Nuts are factor installed. Four holes in plastic, a couple aluminum spacers and it's in.

Repaired the Coverking headliner in the hardtop and put it back on today.
Soft top stored till spring.

BTW, if you order the Coverking, do yourself a favor and do the install with a spray contact adhesive. I used the gorilla glue brand as it has an adjustable nozzle with precise spray.
I was skeptical of the double sided tape they provide. It didn’t last 1 season and the headliner lost adhesion and started sagging.

Stock image for those who ask what the coverking headliner looks like.

Where did you get the shallow covers for the crash can mod? Do you have a part number/source? Thanks! Like the color of your rig!

I have the exact same tray, but added a 5th mounting point in the middle on top to an existing hole. I also added a 1/2 thick foam pad to keep everything quiet. Haven't had one issue with it.

I just posted a "Spread the Light" thread looking for this type of inspiration. What models are the fogs and off road lights? Looks so good! And how is visibility? Do the fogs have a DRL feature, or just on/off? What about the off road lights?
The lights are Baja Designs LP4 attached to an aux switch. Very powerful, not DOT friendly in any way. The fogs are DOT compliant Squadron R by Baja designs. Much more useful than oem. I believe I can use the squadrons with the Taser to set them as the DRLs. They are wired to the stock fog light/switch.

Looks sweet , did you replace the driveshaft ? I know people on this forum usually do , I'm just not sure if it's a must ? Anyone have an answer I would be grateful for explanation.
I was told that with my particular setup I would not need to replace stove shafts. The outfitter here is well versed and I trust their advice. No vibration or issues at this point.

This is from the MetalCloak website. Really depends on what lift and shock length you choose.
