🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

The parts for the suspension lift are sitting in the dining room. The high clearance fenders are at the powder coater now. I'm hoping by next week or the week after that it will all be wrapped up and finished. All I wanted to do yesterday was adjust the spare tire carrier for a 40" spare tire, but I got carried away and put all of the tires on. The shop that will be doing the suspension work for me is only 3 miles away, so I'll just drive something else until then.

Went on a night run this evening with Maryland's Jeep Club, but took no pictures. It's been so dry, my hydro blue is no dusty gray as so much dust was kicked up.

Added the HK Offroad Front Shackle Tab Kit. This will allow me to add d-rings and will be used as attachment points for my towbar when I tow the Jeep behind my RV. These are well made, very heavy duty mounts.

Does the AUTO-VOX T9PRO comes with the same kind of mount as the OEM mount? Did you need to purchase something additional?

You'll need to purchase a separate OEM bracket.

Swapped in a new battery.
Didn’t need it yet.
But hitting 3 years on the OEM this week and decided it’s best to have peace of mind that I got a fresh one.

I’ve thought about using my jeep as a toad, but I never liked the bumper rigs that had to be attached to the jeep. If you just have tabs on the front bumper that you connect to, what towbar are you using and what light kit? Super curious about how to make this work well.

I’ve thought about using my jeep as a toad, but I never liked the bumper rigs that had to be attached to the jeep. If you just have tabs on the front bumper that you connect to, what towbar are you using and what light kit? Super curious about how to make this work well.

So these very heavy duty d-rings that attach through the side light pods to the frame. HK Offroad has the option to keep the factory tow hooks on the top of the bumper or you can delete them, I deleted mine. I have a Roadmaster Blackhawk towbar that is rated at 10,000 pounds. Roadmaster also sells their Off Road Bumper Adapters (PAR-035) that adapts the ends to a 3/4" thick d-ring tab. I have used this set-up on multiple Jeeps over the years, some of the bumpers on my past Jeeps had towable d-ring mounts that I used, but always used a Roadmaster towbar attached to the d-rings.

I do, take a look at post #2,883 above (I can PM you more photos if you would like). The powder coater did a great job matching the texture and even the color. The color match doesn't look as close in the photo as the bumper is a bit dirty, but I took the end cap I removed from the bumper to him with the d-rings and he matched them well.

We use Blue Ox, JKU - we connected to tabs on front bumper, works great as long as the tabs don't break, and we never had any issues. BUT - if the JKU came flying off and kill someone because a tab broke off, then everything you have worked for is gone and you have to live knowing you killed someone. So, both JL's have the Blue Ox tow bar that fits below the factory bumper. It's faster getting the towbar from the RV connect to the Blue OX bar that connects below the front bumper and less frustrating. The first year we went to Moab EJS I had a Bronco guy ask me about the Blue OX part that fits below the front bumper like it's an accessory, he wanted one for his Bronco. I was like Dude it's so I can tow the Jeep behind the RV!!

We use "Brake Buddy". My husband say's it doesn't really work that good. And if anybody knows a better brand, let us know. We tow with 40"ft motorhome. We have towed without the "brake buddy".

I was hoping to tow without a brake system but apparently it’s required in 49 states and all of Canada. Good feedback on the brake buddy, I had looked at that system.

The factory cigarette light is used for the brake buddy, but it shuts off after 15mins. We had an additional cigarette lighter wired in to the battery. The issue is the brake buddy drains the Jeep battery and when you get to your destination the battery is dead. So then we had a Genisis dual battery with G button installed. We still needed to use a jump box to get it started. I have Nothing good to say about the Genisis dual battery system, my shop worked with the tech from Genisis to get dual battery system working correctly. It's been back to the shop several times, it's still broken. But I purchased another Jeep - 392 and did 40's, long arm, ECT. You couldn't pay me to install another Genisis dual battery system. Complete Junk.
