After a great trail ride with fellow member @7.62x392 at AOAA yesterday, spent just shy of 4 hours cleaning the Jeep.

Hit a really nasty mudpit at the end of the trail ride where the water level reached my headlights.

Bribed one of my daughters to crawl under the Jeep with a garden hose for about an hour inside the Metalcloak undercloak skids.

Discovered why my steering was jiggly on the way home, have a small "scrape" on my steering stabilizer lol. Most likely from the Fernridge trail at AOAA.

Given how deep that mud pit was, I'm pleasantly surprised that the air filter has zero mud on it. The dark pieces are just regular dust and pollen.

Going to order a Teraflex 9550 steering stabilizer and a new mopar air filter tonight and install them when they arrive, hopefully in a couple of days.

Side note, I'm going to avoid mud like the plague next time lol.

Is that a hole in your steering stabilizer?! Also the Jeep looks great post clean, what did you use to clean the engine bay?

Yup, here's another pic. The stock location is a really bad design as it's really exposed to rocks:

I'm just putting a Teraflex 9550 in the stock location until I get the lift with relocated stabilizer,likely the FOX ATS.

I used Simple Green spray. Covered the battery, alternator and intake. sprayed the engine down scrubbed a bit then hosed it off at low pressure everywhere.

Just be careful with the Gold 392 under the hood. Mine flaked off a bit so work around that.

Get some SteerSmarts to get that steering stabilizer out of the way. I damaged mine last year on a trail in KY/TN. Going back next week, but have added 38s, full underbody protection, and full SteerSmarts front end to get the steering stabilizer out of the way. I couldn't turn left after I damaged it and held up the trail until a trail fix corrected it.

Doing the following all at one go: a 2.5 inch lift with Rock Krawler springs, 7075 aluminum control arms with Adventure joints, Artec truss kit for front axle, Rock Krawler no limits swaybar links, rcv front axles, Metalcloak baller joints, Adams front driveshaft, split fenders with Quaker led kit, Artec inner liners, clayton track bars, Cavfab tire carrier, Fox 2.5 DSCs and 7075 aluminum tierod/draglink with Steersmarts ends with the stabilizer relocation kit with a FOX ATS. All to compliment 38 Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Until then I'm just throwing in the Teraflex 9550 in the stock location until I get the above work done Can't wait!

But I'm sure I'll do at least one more trail ride before then lol

Despite having only one good arm to use (surgery to repair a torn tendon), the wife and I assembled a Top Lift Pro 2.0, removed the top, and installed a front and rear Spiderwebshade.

I wanted to see how close the 40" Toyo MTs I posted a picture of two post above were to their stated size. So, I stood one of them up, put a construction level across the top of the tire and measured from the floor to the bottom of the level, that was level with the top of the tire. They are 39 7/8" tall. That is pretty close to their stated size if you ask me.

We took 3 of the grandkids and ran Medano Pass. That's an easy trail in Colorado that leads to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. I'll post pictures when I have the chance.

Went to Albuquerque for the Ballon festival last weekend. My brother in law and myself got to sneak out on Friday and hit the trails while the sisters shopped. Went to Coyote Chamisoso trail. Used the On X app to find it. Cant imagine not having hat app when traveling. Month before went to Cross Bar Ranch in OK for a day of wheeling. Note to self, that red dirt is impossible to get out to the interior wheeling with top off all day!

My friends got dropped from their insurance because of multiple windshield damage claims. When a new vehicle or newer vehicle has a windshield replacement it’s usually OEM because aftermarket windshield doesn’t exist yet. Or if they do and electronics don’t line up properly insurance will cover OEM

Hmmm. Never had an issue with multiple claims or electronics not lining up. Good food for thought.

It is recommended that when you replace the windshield you use OE glass. Some cheap glass does have distortion and can cause the adaptive cruise to not work or not work properly. However I replaced mine with no OE and have had no issues. The glass guy said if I did he would replace it so I was willing to try it.
