🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

I loved my Nitto Trail Grapplers for years in 35", but for the 37" I went with the MT BB AT wanting a lighter tire on OEM axles.

The Nittos were indestructible on trail and surprisingly good on the highway, never ever had a flat or deep cuts, albeit they did loose a lot of chucks here and there.

That’s funny. I actually had those Mats in my cart and made a last minute swap to the Nittos. I beat this one around and around, think it’s 10 lbs/tire weight difference.

I had planned to keep my old BFGs as a daily driver set, but as good as these drive, probably just leave em on. Don’t drive it that much and daughter went off to college, so it’s extra now. That’s how my wife let me go big .

So what tire pressure has folks found best on road, going to the mall ya know!?? My BFGs were 30-32. Got these at 35 psi.

I installed the Mopar engine block heater. Easy install just time consuming. The hole is behind the starter, so you have to remove the heat shield and starter (easy). The clip with the mounting screw on the heater unit needs removed, so the heater will fit in the hole, then put back on for mounting (easy). Power cord can get routed however you want. I went around the back of the engine and up passenger side, in front of battery, around PCM and stopped between the fender and fuse box.

Installed steer smarts track bar bracket. Very beefy. Trimmed the extra metal plate. Heavy duty bolts. What’s even better is No Logo!

What made you want to do the upgrade? I know the proposed benefits of the brace, but just wondering if you had some issues resulting in getting the brace? With it installed have you noticed anything significant?

Can't talk for @CO_Jeep, but I just installed the same bracket (including the steering bearing piece), and had no trouble whatsoever. Their 2024 compatible version doesn't required any cutting but it has the (IMO) nice SteeringSmarts logo.

I had mine installed recently, I had to center the steering wheel too. It was fine before, at 11:00 after the bracket.

Yeah, before the upgrade I had to slightly correct the steering to track straight, it was either at 11:55 or 12:05.

Now it's rock solid at 12:00 all the time.

I’ve actually seen a few instances of this part of the frame bending, and cracking

I didn’t have the need to be honest. My Jeep is daily driver and only couple of trail runs. I do see that welded piece as a potential weak point. For the sake of improvement.

No I don’t feel much of a difference after it’s installed. Maybe a tad tighter steering. I’m very tolerant and not as sensitive in terms of steering feeling.

After a great trail ride with fellow member @7.62x392 at AOAA yesterday, spent just shy of 4 hours cleaning the Jeep.

Hit a really nasty mudpit at the end of the trail ride where the water level reached my headlights.

Bribed one of my daughters to crawl under the Jeep with a garden hose for about an hour inside the Metalcloak undercloak skids.

Discovered why my steering was jiggly on the way home, have a small "scrape" on my steering stabilizer lol. Most likely from the Fernridge trail at AOAA.

Given how deep that mud pit was, I'm pleasantly surprised that the air filter has zero mud on it. The dark pieces are just regular dust and pollen.

Going to order a Teraflex 9550 steering stabilizer and a new mopar air filter tonight and install them when they arrive, hopefully in a couple of days.

Side note, I'm going to avoid mud like the plague next time lol.
