🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

Installed rock sliders from White Knuckle Off-Road. Got them in black painted steel with step plates and angled at 90°. Kept the Rubi rails so my boots wouldn’t kick the door panel and to have the sliders a bit lower for my vertically challenged wife.

Those look like they will help with rock strikes on the rear fenders 👍

I luv these rock sliders! I put them on my 21 Sarge, but removed them before I traded for my 20A. I did the same set up with the 90 degree angle and kept the Rubi rails. I had them add the diamond plate for the top plate as I didn't care for the top with holes in them. I haven't put them back on because my 20A came with the Mopar heavy duty rock slider with step assist. We also have a set on our RAM 2500. These are so strong they stopped the truck when a stump got caught under them and no damage to the truck.
Glad you had a positive experience with them.

Decided to re-config the storage area for my upcoming trip. So removed everything and started over. First item installed is the adjustable AAL shelf.

Since they are arriving at dealerships and a few members have already taken delivery. Tell us about your modifications, upgrades, repairs and customizations!

Today: PSC Steering box, synergy O-ring brace for steering, New Rear Drive shaft, old Adams was worn with the new Atlas, and a new tire sensor. just a few things. hahah

Nothing big, added a fire extinguisher and a hitch skid for sliding off small ledges. Heading to Ouray soon.

Ahh Elegance! My spine is fused from C2 to L5, so I'm unable to bend, which means the most negative changes from my '23 392 AEV to my '24 392 AEV were:
  1. electric seat motor which cost me 1/2" headroom
  2. hard plastic airbag on head rail - great for smashing one's skull - a not so safety device
So heavy foam and Guerilla tape on the air bag make egress less painful.

I do like how clean that looks .

😂🤣🤪 sorry I just couldn’t resist you got to do what you gotta do to be comfortable. What do you suppose will happen if that air bag goes off?🧨

Haha,

Clean and elegant is my middle name:cool:

A splatter of Guerilla tape? I'd really like to remove that airbag permanently.

I’ve removed many an airbag…. Measure resistance of airbag removing, add resistor, no occupant restraint lights/codes.

i actually didn't buy them. I ran into a local guy who "painted" them using body color paint and the resin used for Rhino liner bedliners. He used a technique so they came out smooth like typical body paint. He claims it is more durable than powder coating. Since mine will never see off road use, this finish worked out fine for me. I paid $250 for 5 rings and considered that a fair price.

Prior to getting mine painted, I hunted for months to find someone who could powder coat them as I consider powder coating quite durable. Problem was....NO ONE had the powder in that color (2023 Jeep Earl Gray code PGP). BUT.....the powder is now available from Prismatic Powders. All you need is a local powder coater willing to order the powder.

Prismatic Powder PSB-11523 They call it "Jeep Earl"

The powder is relatively inexpensive. They even sent me a swatch and the swatch is an exact match to my Jeep. I get a lot of compliments on the Earl color as well as comments about the rings.

I installed front and rear mud flaps by Rokblokz. They’re extra large in size to help reduce the amount of rocks/debris kicked up towards the side & rear of the 392. One nice feature is the quick release aspect of these mud flaps. A few turns of some threaded knobs and I can remove the flaps just before crawling over boulders, for example. The manufacturer sells them in various colors and two sizes, regular and xtra large.

There is one thing I wanted to mention. I had to remove a small section of the rear well in order to install a bracket for the rear flap. I thought I could re-install that section once I was done mounting the bracket, but the new bracket got in the way. I didn’t like how exposed the rear well was. When looking underneath the 392 I could see the backside of the tail light and the electrical harness. Water and other debris would find its way up there and potentially cause issues so I decided to figure out how to put the plastic rear well section back on. I ended up trimming a small portion of the plastic off and was able to put it back on so the exposed area was now covered again.

I included some pictures so you can the exposed area and the before and after trim on the plastic molding.

Installed the Metal Cloak 2.5" Game Changer lift finally, next up is the Motobilt Gladius Bumper. Looking forward to cutting those damn bull horns off the frame and gaining a ton more clearance for approach angle!

I debated on door sill protection. I know decals/graphics are not everyone's thing. I opted for @Underground Graphics door sill and door handle cup PPF.

I thought, gosh might as well add some "bling" before the PPF goes down. I like how it turned out, probably not for everyone I know.
[My new Ram 1500 came with PPF behind the door handle with a RAM logo, so I stole the idea for the 392.]

Here's the latest addition. Added some storage and didn't want plastic. It's a little hard to tell, but it does also add a center cubby for storage of smaller things. The storage baskets attach to the console using the factory hole and provided hardware for a sturdier installation. I chose not to use the additional double sided tape. The baskets will interfere when moving the seat too far forward, but shouldn't be an issue for most. We'll see how they hold up.

I abuse my Jeep so much, and it did so good at the Great American Crawl on Saturday and Sunday, that I decided to baby it so I purchased a power washer, foam cannon, undercarriage power wash attachment and some soap. I was kinda afraid to see it clean but it didn't look bad at all.
