🛠️ What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

Ha, I consider myself strong for an old man and I struggled getting my 37'' spare on my 4" lifted 392.

I finally figured out a better way than just trying to lift it. I stuck a hitch extension into the hitch and laid the tire on the edge of the extension and then flipped the tire up and it was 1'' to the mount so it was pretty easy to get it on from that point. I was hoping the housing tube was strong enough to hold the weight of the spare as I spun it around to line up the lugs. Seemed like it was strong enough.

I put a stool behind the mount and was able to put a tire edge on it the flip it vertical, from there I could lift it a few inches and pilot it on. It’s heavy but just damn awkward to lift from the ground.

I don't have room in mine to carry a stool and I wanted something I could handle on the road/trail. I will try a stool if I ever have to do it in my garage alone again.

Yeah the stool was obviously a garage thing not a trail thing. Maybe a cooler could suffice off-road.

At home I use a garbage can upside down for the spare.

So glad you posted this. I actually forgot I had a set still in box. I ordered after so many positive reviews but hesitated to put them on because the arms in my LJ were a real bitch to line up.

If you have those Mopar arms still and have not mounted them up, can you give me a measurement from center to center of each hole please?

When I have one stock arm removed I will measure both side by side.

I use the stool method in my garage too. A back saver.

Installed Mopar LCA from the 2” lift kit. Other members have done them and reported a massive improvement in how it drives. I will concur with this assessment. If you’re looking for a cheap and easy / straightforward install I highly recommend them. So far they’ve been the best cheap mod I’ve done.

The install is a breeze if you unbolt one side at a time. I did the drivers side first. I did the front axle end and jacked up the frame with my Badlands Off-road jack to line up the holes for the rear. Once that one was in, the passenger side was a breeze and didn’t require any adjustments. The whole job took 20mins with an impact gun.

Dam things are heavy. You have to jeep with a friend that’s just one reason multiple jeeps are best. IMHO

Yes they are ever so slightly longer. That guy on the other forum is going to kill him self using concrete blocks like that.. he needs some 4x12’s .

I changed my transfer case fluid today. She had 1.2 quarts come out, took 2.1 quarts to fill. Current milage is 19,300 miles. I have owned her two weeks tomorrow and can't help but smile every time my butt is in the driver seat.
Up Next:
Tomorrow it is off to the dealer for a leak in the coolant reservoir that I can't imagine being more than a really quick change out.
Next week I will stop by CloakWorks and do a few tweaks for better road manners.

Leaking reservoir is fairly common. Like many fairly common problems I hope they dont have supply issues getting you a new one.

I need to see what flex I have. I have been on some big rocks where I was thinking it was fully flexed and I get out and it still has plenty of stuff left and rear is firmly planted.

What front diff skid is that?
