Trading a 2023XR for a 2024

I have a nicely built '13 JK and just bought a '24 392. The differences between those two are night and day, but I still love my JK. The 392 is an amazing machine, but you already know that. I test drove a '23 XR that was identical to the '24 I ended up buying, minus the refreshed features. The overall experience was very, very similar in both machines. The screen and wind noise are such a small part of the overall 392 experience (especially when I'm in my happy place wheeling with the top off). I ordered the '24 mainly because they were charging just as much for the used '23, so it was an easy decision. If buying the '23 would have saved me 20 or 30 thousand dollars, I would have bought the '23 and used that money on upgrades. Don't forget about the cost of taxes and registration fees on a new vehicle too.

If you were ordering your Jeep today, and you could check the box for the '24 upgrade, is cost of that upgrade worth it to you? Either way, you will own one of the best Jeeps that may ever come out of the factory.

I think we and you all agree you should order a 24. Please let us know when you do. Cheers! @AnthonyRI Mark Dodge would be a great dealer to order from. . .
I have an email string going with Anthony right now :)
Very prompt and that is who I would probably order with, IF I did.

Also worth checking with Koons in Virginia for the group orders. They were still offering great discounts as of last week -- still applicable if you are not going to order the SOT. They set up a specfici email for this: [email protected]

I bought my 2022 from them and everything was easy and straight forward.
Yes I may check with Koons. They are pretty much offering what Anthony @ Mark Dodge is. I bought my 2023 at Koons and I had a great experience with them. Their DOC fees are higher, so there is that.
Thank you!

At this stage in time I wouldn’t upgrade. I was originally looking to upgrade when they announced the 24 but now it just doesn’t make sense. Back then you could get away relatively unscathed from a dollar perspective. With the car industry coming back to reality this has went away and it’s really more of a 30k+ proposition to switch. That’s even assuming you can get a below invoice price. To me it’s not worth that cost for the minor differences. If it was 10k sure I could see that.

Yeah, I waited on the '24 and I'm glad I did. the sound deadening was surprisingly a huge difference. Granted I came from a 106 JKU, but the dash and interior quality is a huge jump. As far as trading up, I think if you can get a good deal, it's worth it.

VERY vaild point. I think best case, I might be out 17K, between trading/selling and ordering and taxes and all that stuff.
That is a pretty significant jump, but I have had my 23 for a little over a year. Is it worth that kind of loss?

I appreciate the insight. I am glad to know that the sound deadening is a huge difference. I just think the 24 is the right combination to keep for a long, long time and build and grow with.
If there is a 25 392, then I would say that is the one to get, but who knows.

Thank you for the information. This is especially good that you have both currently.
I kept waiting and waiting for the big screen and I pulled the trigger on a 23, and them boom they upgrade it.
The bigger screen and "quieter interior" is mostly the reason to upgrade. Just trying to weigh out if it's worth it or not. I know you can't order a SOT now, but I was thinking of not ordering that on my next one. It's a love/kinda like thing.

You can add Dynomatt and end up with a quieter vehicle than the factory 2024. Also upgrade to a larger aftermarket screen if you want.
For the trade price you can do all of that plus install Dana 60’s.

That Heigh10 looks great. I wish Jeep would have done something like that instead of what they did with the 24 screen. It looks so much more integrated and it keeps the round vents.

Saw this post on Jeep Wrangler 392 Owners Group.

Bill's post...
It’s a Navos gen 6 which was just this month released as I was told.
And it has very button on it to meet all the existing buttons that came with my Jeep including the exhaust.
You don’t need magic box as a side piece.. it has everything . Insert a SIM card and you can watch pornhub from the comfort of your jeep
🤣
😂

This may be what I end up doing, especially now that 392 orders may be closed??

I like that, but I sure wish they would add wireless carplay support.

Well, the decision was made easier. Sometimes we need that. ;)

If you didn't really care TOO much about the upgrades, it's all good. Last year runs and other special editions really don't seem to hold as much value as they used to. Modern autos are just different.

I have a Bronco FE. Not all that special imo. I daily driver it. My 20A AEV. Special now, but I'll start driving it more/beating it around in a year or so. If we got any lessons from the 10A, 20As won't hold much more monetary value than a similarly maintained 392.

The exception in my mind is an 06 LJ Rubicon. That's still the holy grail of jeeps imo.
