Tazer NoLimitz JL for 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler JL 392 @ JustBoltOns.com

Having read an account here, or on the other forum, regarding an issue with the hill- descent-speed-control feature (don’t know the proper name), which was eventually resolved via a Z software push, I reached out to Z before I installed my NoLimitz to ask for their latest file. They told me I probably had nothing to worry about, but sent me their latest file. Not a difficult update…and frankly may have been updating with the same software version that was already on it…but better safe than sorry.

I will say I referenced their instructions very carefully for the install. making sure to disconnect the right harness (similar harnesses on left and right, you need to pull the left one, nearest center console). And, it’s easy to confuse wires - brown vs beige etc. But their pictures were helpful. Also, just to be safe I plugged the removed wire into the same open slot that was pictured in the instruction.
Not saying you did it wrong, only that it could be easy to do it.

The connector that I pulled wasn’t the one nearest the. center console. It’s second from the one nearest to the console - just like in this picture (the screw driver is going through the two wires you want). Note, this pic was taken after the green Star connector had been rotated from its original position, so now the wire connector is 2nd from the one nearest the passenger door. Am I wrong?

No sir, I believe you are right, based on my recollection.

My reference to ‘nearest center console’ concerned the green star board itself. I removed the wrong one (nearest passenger door) at first, before realizing mistake. (My terminology was poor, apologies for adding confusion. )

what I see there, in your picture and as you describe, is what I did as well.

fwiw, I believe I used the slot on the far right (in your pic) to home the green connector. Just as pictured in the instructions.

I was kinda hoping I was wrong. lol! And I tried a couple different spots for the green connector, including the spot in the picture, but there was no difference.

So just to be clear, I can use this in conjunction with my tazer mini? Does one need to be installed before the other?

Yes… you can run both.. This existing thread will help you out. Also there were a few hiccups with use for some early on, but it seems to have been worked out with the firmware update.

FYI, I ordered my NoLinitz on the first day of availability, and the firmware fix did not resolve all the issues. I have a RMA for a return/replacement. The story from ZAuto was that there was a timing issue with a few units, and a hardware replacement was needed.

I ended up trying it out. I had one of the early units… Same thing… it crapped out on me and triggered a fault for the adaptive cruise. It worked flawlessly for a month or more prior to having the issue. I did the firmware update and it still didn’t work. They replaced the unit and it’s fine. I’d say with the new unit installed they worked out whatever the issues were in my original unit for me, but time will tell. I figured I’d Guinea pig it like you and some of the other folks have and report back. So far so good….

Update to my NoLimitz issue. I emailed Z Automotive about my issue at 7:30 am CST (they open at 8:30am EST). Haven’t gotten a response yet. I’m kinda disappointed that they don’t have a phone number I can call…maybe I missed it? I understand wanting an email for documentation purposes, but taking longer than a day to respond…..I don’t know…maybe they don’t have the staff and they’re flooded with emails. I’ll give it another day and maybe try getting them to respond via Facebook, but if nothing then, I’m returning it. Not a stellar experience so far.

They’ll get back to you. It took them a few days but their customer service was excellent once we started communicating.

Good Q&A
👍
I absolutely love the freedom of bringing our 392 monster rigs to their full potential. I’m sure we can all agree that’s why we bought a large displacement V8 to begin with.
