Can not be detected by dealer tools................ So the first time the Jeep app reports you have exceeded the the preset limits, you are committing to us, you guarantee in writing they will not void our warranty? Simply reply in the affirmative so we keep this.

LMAO, these are manufacturer's product notes. Just don't exceed the speed limit then if that's your concern. We are NOT guaranteeing that. That's ridiculous.

You fail to understand the question. Everyone, at sometime or another, will exceed the speed limit without retribution. If the Tazer manufacturer states it can not be detected, then the Jeep app will not see it right? I think the Jeep app is used to spy on all of us and may be used against us as they deem necessary. IOW the manufacturer statement, if relied on, would make them liable if your warranty is canceled for exceeding preset limits.

That’s fine then so then don’t exceed the speed limiter. I don’t foresee many people taking a wrangler up to those speeds anyways.

There you go trolling again! I already own all the tazer products. Does your mommy know you're playing with her computer again? I simply asked a question directly to the poster and you jumped in. Do you work for him or did he simply sic you on me for the inquiry? OTOH, I suspect you're smarting because you didn't know JEEP tracks all these 392s did you? Somehow you didn't know opting out of the program only means they don't send you the information to your phone or computer. BUT! They still collect it and your dealer can access it. Now STOP while you're BEHIND! I assure you if you even own a 392, Jeep is tracking you! If you exceed the limits preset from JEEP if they want to, they CAN VOID YOUR WARRANTY! Should you make a claim! If your RPM's exceed limits in the low side of the transfer case ,THEY KNOW IT! It's been fun but it's time for you to let it go!
Serious question - aside from max speed limit (which i doubt i will ever test in the 392), what are common use cases ee could encounter that would cause a warranty issue? RPM seems an easy/obvious trackable event, and anything else to add to list? Oil Life - (something we can control) but temperatures/tire pressure/ oil pressure etc?

I am going to be getting this. Not for speed limiter removal but for MDS disabling. I can noticeably tell when MDS engages and disengages. Theres that little bit of lag if MDS has you in 4 cylinder mode and you wanna get rowdy.

Also, key programming blocking is clutch. At a very attractive price. We all know that a huge part of theft of these vehicles is being able to relay a signal of an existing key or reprogramming a key on the fly.

I have had mine installed for maybe a month.

I honestly didn’t hate the MDS as much as lots of folks…didn’t think the exhaust note in 4cyl was terrible, I didnt think it was laggy, felt like the jump back to 8cyl was fast enough. Also, in my 2021, MDS is not disabled in OR+ mode. Bottom line - I wasn’t that annoyed by MDS.

Even so, wanted to try the NoLimitz. Partly just to experience it without MDS. Of course, also for any reliability benefit / avoidance of MDS induced failure. (Not sure this really achieves that. have read some make arguments that hardware modification - non MDS lifters, etc - is the only way to prevent MDS related failure. Above my pay grade).

turns out I love this thing. Money very well spent, would 10/10 recommend. The feel, exhaust note, responsiveness…just better than I expected. Wheeled it too, a few hours in 4 lo, locked, 4 hi, etc. no issues or complaints. I was kind of meh, but really enjoying more than I thought I would.

That's great feedback, I'm glad to hear this. I know the MDS was designed to help with fuel efficiency, (I guess) have you noticed any difference in that aspect?

I agree with you. The RF hub block is a great added bonus, yes they can probably still disable but they'll have to find it. I tend to bury my Tazers to make their jobs even harder. Why FCA couldn't offer RF hub lock out on all of their vehicles is silly.

Is there a future plan to allow the user to enable/disable certain features like with the Tazer or will this be an all or nothing product?

As of right now, it's an all or nothing but you can literally enable / disable it from the steering wheel controls in less than 5 seconds.

I honestly haven’t kept that much of an eye on it, but I will. I’m usually just shy of 12 around town, and up to 16 or 17 for long highway hauls. Pic to make it interesting..

I have over 7.5k miles on mine with the MDS disabled. No real affect on MPG at all. It's dumb to me that they add all of that complexity and future failure points for no real gain. Optics, I guess.

Also, I sent my oil in for analysis to see if disabling the MDS caused any increase in wear, and the report came back with no signs of additional wear/damage from keeping it disabled for an entire 5k mile oil change interval.

This is kinda long……I just took delivery of one of these NoLimitz and connected it as per the YouTube video above and used the online instructions to verify. My first attempt, before pressing the left arrow on steering wheel and pushing ignition to run, the Tazer light was a solid red. I then pushed and held the left arrow button and push ignition to run……flashers on the dash blinked 5 times. I thought all was good, but the Tazer light was still a solid red. I tried to deactivate the Tazer by following the deactivation steps, but nothing happened. I tried reactivating it….nothing happened. I then disconnected and reconnected every connector and tried the same sequence and nothing….still a so,I’d red light. Yes, I verified multiple times that I pulled the tan and yellow wire connector. I then went back through the motions of connecting it, but still didn’t get the flashers and Tazer light still solid red. I thought maybe a test drive would tell me if it’s working or not. Big mistake! The dash threw codes all over the place and it wouldn’t shift right. Limped it back into the garage, cleared the codes with the Tazer Mini, disconnected the NoLimitz again, and returned everything back to stock. Then I disconnected the battery and let it sit while I reinstalled the NoLimitz. Reconnected the battery and then pressed the left arrow and pushed the ignition to run. I got the 5 flashing flashers and the NoLimitz turned green. Got it!! I put the dash back together and backed out of the garage onto the street. Put it in Drive and as soon as I pressed the gas pedal, the Jeep slammed stop and the dash lit up. I was stuck. It wouldn’t go forward or backward. Put it back in park, shut it off. Uninstalled the NoLimitz, cleared all the codes with the Mini, started it up and drove down the road like nothing happened.

I’m gonna call Z Automotive tomorrow, but has anyone heard of this happening with the NoLimitz? I’m wondering it has anything to do with using it in conjunction with the Mini or the fact that I bought the NoLimitz through Amazon. The NoLimitz came with a usb cable, but looking at the Z Automotive website, I see no options to update it.

I guess I’ll find out from the company tomorrow what they think is the issue. I hope it’s something simple.

Glad to hear that on the oil analysis. MDS alone is a great reason for the NoLimitz

Oh wow interesting. First time hearing this and I'm sure the guys at Z Automotive can tell you exactly why that may have happened. Currently there's no updates for it, future plans I'm sure. Keep us posted.

I’ll definitely write the outcome. The thing is so easy to hook up, it surprised me that I ran into this issue.

Having read an account here, or on the other forum, regarding an issue with the hill- descent-speed-control feature (don’t know the proper name), which was eventually resolved via a Z software push, I reached out to Z before I installed my NoLimitz to ask for their latest file. They told me I probably had nothing to worry about, but sent me their latest file. Not a difficult update…and frankly may have been updating with the same software version that was already on it…but better safe than sorry.

I will say I referenced their instructions very carefully for the install. making sure to disconnect the right harness (similar harnesses on left and right, you need to pull the left one, nearest center console). And, it’s easy to confuse wires - brown vs beige etc. But their pictures were helpful. Also, just to be safe I plugged the removed wire into the same open slot that was pictured in the instruction.
Not saying you did it wrong, only that it could be easy to do it wrong.
