Update:
We did the full day on the Arkansas through the Royal Gorge, it was a blast. Water level was low (864ft3/s) so made it a much more technical raft, but a Class IV is still a Class IV. Lost my better half off the back of the raft at Sledgehammer which was an interesting 20-some seconds and despite some bruises all ended well.
No major wheeling on this trip. We just did Shelf Road up to Cripple Creek then back Phantom Canyon Rd, and a handful of other backcountry trails up Hwy50 and around Canon City. We shot up towards Colorado Springs and hit Pike's Peak since we were so close and I had never been up to a +14'er.

The entire trip was going great... until the ride home. We had just got through the OK panhandle at Woodward when I stopped for gas and smelled burning rubber. Popped the hood and knew the trip was over... Glad it didn't happen in the +100mi of nothing in Kansas :)

Big shout out to Vernon at McIntosh Towing in Woodward who didn't hesitate to make the 328mi tow at 4:30pm on a Sunday afternoon (unlike a few others) and the dudes in O'Reilly for letting my crew camp out in their store to stay out of the 100deg heat. The rig is at my local dealer now. Yes, I could have stayed in Woodward and hit their Jeep dealer the next day, but given the size of the town I would have likely been stuck there for several days and I'm not certain it's only the alternator; so I made the call to sleep in my own bed and have her carried home. 🍻

Great pics from the rafting trip, looks like a blast.

First trip in the 392. Malibu, CA.

My wife and I spent Labor Day weekend running trails with the Red Rock 4 Wheelers in Moab as part of their Labor Day event. On Monday's trail my wife took this picture of one of the indigenous species. That is a 500 ft cliff overlooking the Colorado River that the Big Horn sheep is standing next to. I would have been a little nervous standing that close to a 500 ft drop, but it didn't seem to bother the sheep in the slightest, LOL. We had a great time in Moab.

Fun day exploring the western side of AOAA with fellow forum member @WHLN392. Earned our badges on Fern Ridge, and I got to explore one of the black offshoots. Each of us nearly got stuck in the mud at different points, but made it out without having to winch and no broken Jeeps. Looking forward to the next ride!

Great pictures. Glad you both had a great time.

A little afternoon trip

With the wife out of town, and having moved furniture all morning, I decided a nice, easy drive through the 3 local covered bridges would be nice to enjoy the beautiful autumn afternoon. While in the area, I thought about trying the Frederick Watershed. It was a lot worse than when I had previously been on it. Given the questionable transfer case, I used 4Hi and was extremely pleased with the way the 392 could crawl in 4 Hi. There was a lot of deep ruts, so I stayed in first or second gear. The BFGs were great at spewing rocks over the Rubi Steps and body.🤬

Hardly the Rubicon Trail, but a good first taste of offroad for the new Jeep. Yeah, the GR8PNKN needs a 392 now. These will be the last pictures before the lift and 37s and extra lighting for the night trail rides.

Definitely great time!

@7.62x392 392 is a beast offroad! Obstacles he could scamper over gave my Metalcloak Undercloak a workout with the factory XR suspension.

Here I am on the blue bypass while I help spot @7.62x392 on the black option of Fernridge

Fern Ridge is a super fun trail but definitely look forward to getting my lift and 38s ASAP lol.

We had a really cool spot for lunch

The mud today at AOAA was no joke.

That last mudpit I unleashed the 392 to make it through. Love these engines!

I'm already bribing my two daughters to help me clean this up tomorrow

TBH I made a mistake on the last mudpit, there was a sign that said go right that I missed and went left. o_O But the Jeep made it.

Here I'm airing it up back in the parking lot, if you zoom in the front half of the engine bay is mudded up. All going to be cleaned tomorrow

I've never been at the car wash for that long but it's never really been all that clean when I leave either. I usually just goto knock the chuncks off before I get home so they dont end up in the driveway. I have considered washing it while parked in the grass.

This was some thick nasty mud, and it didn’t help that I left my windows open while charging thru one of the mud pits, the inside was a disaster.

100% thick nasty mud.

About to go get some Simple Green to clean out the engine bay and deal with this:

How was Deer Valley? Did you run it from North to South?
Ran it south to north and then ended up camping at Lost Lakes.

It was pretty relentless…not overly difficult just rocky and slow going from the beginning to almost 2/3rds of the way through. Lots
Of fun.
