Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition Discussion

It certainly does - Totally Unacceptable in every way - Just Completely Frustrated at this point! I guess they figure we are all desperate for these 392’s at this point and nobody will give a hoot and just be happy to get one. I am not that buyer and don’t need this vehicle nor am I desperate for it. At these prices these vehicles should be NEAR PERFECT out of the factory - The new 2024’s and 4Xe’s on this lot are all perfect. Go figure.
Totally agree, this would be my first Jeep so I’m hoping for a good experience. In a few ways that expectation is falling short already with stuff like the hinge corrosion issue, red seats, etc. but I’m still hoping things will turn out. I recently checked out a 20th 392 and an 20th AEV at my local dealer and they appear to have arrived in excellent shape. If all that happened to mine I’d probably pass also.

Well my 20A arrived at the dealership yesterday morning - And what a shit show. The Truck arrived with zero exterior protection along with multiple scratches through the clear coat -
Several Bad ones on the hood and both front fenders. Front Fenders both have small dimples midway down (Small Dings that’s are noticeable) Hydro Hood Scoop is not installed correctly and does not sit flush in the hood scoop and sits proud and uneven in the scoop. Had hand written notes on the windshield “Missing Rivets in left rear” multiple unreadable white stickers on the glass - looks like this truck was shuffled around up at the Plant quite a bit - Showed up with 33 Miles as well. All from the factory as I saw it come in yesterday still in the ship mode. Dealer said give us the day to address everything and PDI the vehicle properly - They called me yesterday afternoon and I went to see what was done and take it for a test drive. Other than a shitty wash and shitty wheel tire treatment nothing was addressed. Took it for a ride anyways and the truck was literally all over the road from the start. Nothing firm and tight at all about the ride on this one as I have seen mentioned here by others - Had some serious rear end wobble on smooth back roads while in slight curves. Something rattling in the front dash. Other than that the interior was pretty much flawless and really nice. I checked the tire PSI which they obviously never checked during the PDI and they ranged from 46 to 48 PSI which certainly was not helping the ride. Overall the ride was extremely rough, and the vehicle was not firm or stiff in any way - Quite the opposite - Loose, wobbly and Soft is how I would describe the ride. Definitely not happy at all after waiting 6 months. They were supposed to take a good look at the vehicle today and do a proper PDI however I just stopped by and nothing was done. Most likely passing on this vehicle - Simply has a bad vibe with too many flaws which is really frustrating. It really is a beautiful truck other than all the factory flaws which I can not tolerate or accept on a vehicle of this caliber- Completely unacceptable in my book. Dealer has offered to discount the vehicle further however price is secondary to the overall build quality in my book. Will keep everyone posted - recommend everyone checks their vehicles carefully😕
If you don’t mind me asking, what color is it and did it include half-doors?

Still trying to figure out why mine has been delayed in shipment for so long…

Sting Gray and SOT Option Only.
That’s why the inside was nearly perfect.
Other than the bad scratches the overall paint job is excellent!

At the dealership now - Nothing done zero resolutions - I told them basically to stick this vehicle up their ass - I am out!😡

Wow. Hard to imagine they wouldn’t want to correct the issues in order to move the vehicle.

The next buyer will most certainly have the same issues.

They will take it and clean up or cheaply repaint the scratches and mark it up 10k... They are not mad he walked away.

Hmm looks like you can get half doors and SoT with Earl now. At least the configurator lets you do it. If mine falls through, I know what I'm doing. I like GCM and Sting better than Earl, but with lack of those choices, I'm perfectly happy with Earl.

I have to say after seeing this thread and seeing this YouTube video, I'm glad I got my 20A...

Agree, I saw a 24’ yesterday and I’m glad I’ve got a 23’

If anyone is still interested in a 2023 Jeep 392, Red with hardtop (non XR) not a 20A it's on the lot and ready to go. Hit me up and I'll put you in contact with my salesman, great guy to work with. Sticker is about 88k

I think it's about break even for me. I do like some of the changes, but I was pretty disappointed to see how little it changed from a looks standpoint. I know that other than the sport to family bar change, the YJ refresh didn't change much visually. The TJ refresh didn't change much visually as I remember, but I was hoping for a JK style interior refresh in the JL (meaning how much the interior changed during the JK refresh), which didn't happen.

I like my 20a, and I'm not sure that wiggling all the snap together plastic trim is an indicator of actual build quality.

Well I got notification from the dealer that my 20th arrived, 5 plus months. We shall see if it’s in good shape and hopefully the process isn’t too painful…..

Picked up the 392 today. Experience at the dealer was pretty darn good. Easy, non adversarial, guys were very helpful, Jeep was in great shape. Pretty happy, this thing rides great. (y)

Love it! Man, that Punkin' looks great! HOT CHEETOH! :)

What is the purpose of this piece near the right front fenderwell?

Saw it on a 20A edition and ‘24 models that I was looking at today. My ‘21 392 doesn’t have it. Not sure if the 22’s do or not.

That is a new safety barrier to keep the tire , in certain crashes, from crushing the floorboard into the passenger.

BTW, BOBO57 when you get a chance, post up a measurement from the ground through the center of the front wheel and the back wheel to the bottom of the fender flare extension. I measured a Recon v6 with 35's at 41 3/16 and 41 5/16.....curious if the 392 is taller....

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!

Makes sense. Thanks for the info. I can see the logic behind the design, although not great for ground clearance.

Looked at the one ordered in my name at the dealership today and am now debating as to whether I want to take the hit and trade my ‘21 in on it…

Used a level to make sure I was accurate, both front and rear dimension from the ground to the bottom edge of the fender flare are both dead on 41.5 inches.
