called jeep again today. 118 days and counting. with 0 happening. again told me a Mentor will get to me in a few days.
found a 23 on line, almost exactly how we built it. only they want $25k over what i am paying. well if i ever get one. actually Jeep has no idea what is going on, they just say crap to make you feel better. Not Feeling Better at all.
Still waiting since early June and no build date.

I gave up checking. Just waiting, when it arrives then good for me. As for now keep yourself busy. I started getting little accessories and mopar parts that should've been included for the price of the vehicle. I'm not doing much to the vehicle since I got every available options available Incuding Half Doors Premium,SOT, etc... plus It'll be my 5th Wrangler, so i'll be resting modifying it for a long while. If anything I'll probably just get the Amp XL due to its bigger design of the steps and it's the only design that looks similar to stock Rubicon side rails. And defenitely changing the shocks to Fox 3.0 + Fox 2.0 ATS steering stabilizer, due to the massive size that personally I trully believe they do belong to the vehicle especially with the XR stock form of 392 Rubicon. I just wish FOX have better color selections than just orange. Probably upgrade to Steer Smarts YETI all around Front and Rear with HD Pro Series. Just few things and little tweaks that should've been included in this 392XR in a stock form. The goal is to make it as stock form as possible , but over built thicker, bigger, oversized, massive design that I can replace or upgrade to make it look like the vehicle came from the factory without making the vehicle too modified looking.
I'm sure it'll be well worth it once we all recieve the vehicle.

Alright.. Just curious if anyone has seen this happen with a their Jeep heading to the West Coast. I have the Sales Gal for the 392 informing me where the vehicle is in production and shipping. I also have a great relationship with a Salesman that I've bought a couple vehicles from this past year. I would have bought from him, but his Manager would not allow me to use the Tread Lightly discount with him. Go figure.. I had bought a TRX and a 21 JLURD from him last year.. Anyway, I digress. My Sales Guy has been able to follow the movement of the 392 ever since it was released from the plant. He was able to find the window sticker and started to watch it move. He has been providing me with daily updates. I went in to see him today and he said that the Jeep was "loaded onto a truck" and moved to Belvidere Assembly Plant which is in Illinois?? Has this happened to anyone else? He did say it's sitting and waiting to be loaded on the rail and the update was as of this AM at 10:21... Just seems strange. Every other custom order I've had with Jeep was loaded from Toledo. Anyone??

That is news to me. Mine was just loaded from Toledo on a train and now parked in Benicia (Northern California) waiting for truck transport. The only thing I can think of is maybe weather or a problem with train unions.

There is another possibility of a rail strike. I doubt if that’s why though.

Called the GM of the store I ordered from, and he is trying to reach his factory rep who is on vacation till next week. Anyway, the GM told me that other Jeeps are arriving just fine, it seems only the 392‘s that are stalled. I am speculating it’s a parts thing specific to the 392. I am now at 124 days, status C. Seems that I won’t be seeing my 392 in time for xmas or b4 the end of 2022.

The rail strike would still be impacted in Illinois I'd think. Who knows. I just thought it was strange1. I'll see if there's any movement tomorrow. Crossing fingers.

So I’m assuming XRs of other models are arriving ok too?

I'm at 165 days, my dealer said anything with a 392, including cars, takes forever for some reason. I do see others that ordered later than me getting theirs though. I'll never understand it. A friend of mine waited 7 months (last year)

Happy for you man!! So how long did it take going from D1 (scheduled) to E (in production) ?

Yes, same here a few folks that ordered after me have been built…seems no rhyme or reason to it?

We need someone to get to a factory rep, call your dealerships and put them to call!

Thanks! Just over 2 weeks. Now we all need to hope there isn’t a strike early next month. ugh

Just booked my flight up to Granger to take delivery on Friday. I have been waiting since April and went through 2 VON's (1st one I walked away from non Granger, 2nd being Granger order). I have pretty much exhausted all the 392 clips from youtube so the excitement is real. Time to read through some break in material and get ready for a 14-15ish hour drive back home to San Antonio TX. Below is my timestamps and options to help those who have been waiting and ordered near the same time I did. It was delivered the 16th and paper work was wrapped up yesterday the 21st remotely. Any "break in" feedback from those who drove it long distances upon taking delivery would be great lol, I got about a 900 mile drive home over 2 days.

Never rely on estimated delivery. It will change and possibly back to TBD. Anyway, congrats with the beast.

I ordered March 10th of 22 my salesman said not to expect it for 4 to 6 months. So as much as I thought about it the first two months seem to fly by. Then I found out about the Jeep tracker, so I caved and texted my salesman to get my VON. By then my Jeep was scheduled. The next month dragged by because I was checking the tracker like 5 times a day. A month later it went into production, I was expecting it to sit for a month on the storage lot. Two days later it was built and two days after that it was shipped. Then the longest four week train ride ever with no delivery date, again checking the tracker 5 times a day. I finally got a delivery date that was only a few days away. So I picked up my phone to call the salesman to see if he could confirm the date and my phone rang. I saw it was from the dealership. I answered the phone and said ”I was just going to call you.” The salesman gave a big laugh and said, “why is that?” I replied that I had got the delivery date and was wondering if it was correct. He said “Well I was calling to tell you that your Jeep was delivered late last night and it’s getting prepped right now.” An hour later I was picking it up.

my experience went faster not knowing anything than it did when I was checking the tracker every hour. 119 days total

Now it’s parked for winter and I have an even longer wait before the roads are clean and I can drive it again.

My man!!! CONGRATS!

Pick up was a breeze - it'll be over before you even realize what's happening, and you'll be standing there with some keys in your hand wondering "wait this is mine now, that's it!?" I drove mine 1800mi home to sunny socal. Was a blast!

I followed break-in from the manual, maybe going 5MPH over the recommended in some cases just because I was getting passed at 30+ over my speed. I didn't care, and nobody seemed to mind too much. People see a jeep in the slow lane and just assume "it's slow, it's a jeep." They'll cut you a break. Little do they know...

Basically, break-in looks like this:
  • 0-100mi on the odometer:
    • chill, take it all in, play with some buttons, put some music on, just get comfy and put some music on and enjoy your NEW MAGNIFICENT RIDE.
    • drive around 55mph
    • this will be over before you know it,
  • 100-300mi on the odometer:
    • chill
    • keep it around 70mph
  • 300mi+
    • "EXERCISE THE FULL RPM RANGE BABY"🚀
    • probably best not to drive over 85mph... much
    • but also "don't participate in any track events until 1500 mi" lmao
Best advice I have is - after you get through the first 300 miles, play with the adaptive cruise control: it's amazing with the 392. Took me a long time to trust it (and it's worth paying attention, for sure), but it does an extremely good job of giving your foot a break on the long drives, and seems to be very responsive to lane changes/speed/follow distance. I'm so amped to have smart cruise control after driving a JK for 10 years. You're going to be blown away.

@Membrain was kind enough to type up actual break-in here:
0 to 100 miles (0 to 161 km):
• Do not allow the engine to operate at idle for an extended period of time.
• Depress the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid acceleration.
• Avoid aggressive braking.
• Drive with the engine speed less than 3,500 RPM.
• Maintain vehicle speed below 55 mph (88 km/h) and observe local speed limits.
100 to 300 miles (161 to 483 km):
• Depress the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid acceleration in lower gears (1st to 3rd gears).
• Avoid aggressive braking.
• Drive with the engine speed less than 5,000 RPM.
• Maintain vehicle speed below 70 mph (112 km/h) and observe local speed limits.
300 to 500 miles (483 to 805 km):
• Exercise the full engine rpm range, shifting manually at higher rpms when possible.
• Do not perform sustained operation with the accelerator pedal at wide open throttle.
• Maintain vehicle speed below 85 mph (136 km/h) and observe local speed limits.
For the first 1500 miles (2414 km):
• Do not participate in track events, sport driving schools, or similar activities during the first 1500 miles (2414 km).

haha yup it is finally here, thanks a ton for the detailed write up! I appreciate the feedback you and Zach at Granger provided through out the whole process as well as their team that has been taking my phone calls and emails lol. Im picky when selecting a dealer to work with but seeing your and other folk's posts here on how great Granger is, I felt good about working with them, word of mouth goes along way with me when its from happy customers. Granger has been super easy thus far and am looking forward to meeting their team this Friday. Thanks again my man, much appreciated!
