Congrats!!! Now for the anticipation. Just follow break in procedure and keep her oiled up every 3 to 6 thousand miles, and you're going to love it!

What is the break in procedure like? Have not done that on a car in years :) Do these engines use oil every 3-6K this is my first Hemi…or are you just stating the oil change interval?

I actually did keep it under 55 the 1st 100, then went pretty easy on it for the next 200 while using the paddles to shift up and down to exercise the rev range all on the way home from Granger so it only cost me a little bit of time. After that I let 'er rip.

Congrats! Now grab a drink and enjoy the waiting party! 🍻

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS
This breaking in occurs mainly during the first 500 miles (805 km) and continues through the first oil change interval.
It is recommended for the operator to observe the following driving behaviors during the new vehicle break-in period:

0 to 100 miles (0 to 161 km):
 Do not allow the engine to operate at idle for an extended period of time.
 Press the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid acceleration.
 Avoid aggressive braking.
 Drive with the engine speed below 3,500 RPM.
 Maintain vehicle speed below 55 mph (88 km/h) and observe local speed limits.

100 to 300 miles (161 to 483 km):
 Press the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid acceleration in lower gears (FIRST to THIRD gears).
 Avoid aggressive braking.
 Drive with the engine speed below 5,000 RPM.
 Maintain vehicle speed below 70 mph (112 km/h) and observe local speed limits.

300 to 500 miles (483 to 805 km):
 Exercise the full engine RPM range, shifting manually (paddles or gear shift) at higher RPMs when possible.
 Do not perform sustained operation with the accelerator pedal at wide open throttle.
 Maintain vehicle speed below 85 mph (136 km/h) and observe local speed limits.

For the first 1,500 miles (2,414 km):
 Do not participate in track events, sport driving schools, or similar activities.

NOTE:
Check engine oil with every refueling and add if necessary. Oil and fuel consumption may be higher through the first oil change interval. Running the engine with an oil level below the add mark can cause severe engine damage.

Thanks for posting, that’s pretty intense Much like the older solid lifter engines running leaded fuel! Well I’ll do the best I can to follow this, I am buying this one not leasing. When leasing cars they get treated like a rental car, WOT every time I drive it like I stole it…who needs warm up! Again, as I am likely keeping this vehicle in the collection, I will treat it a bit differently. That first 100 is gonna be rough, that like grandma grocery getter!

Got the email with the Order number! Will there be another when it gets a VIN?

I followed the owner's manual for the break in because I haven't owned a Hemi before and I definitely haven't owned an $84,000 "toy". I did my first oil change today at 1,376 miles just because I can and I think there might be a little more metal shavings in this beast. Used a larger oil filter to make me feel better. :geek:

My dealer e-mailed me a VIN about a week after placing the order.

Rumors are 2023 Wrangler production starts next week. We get an American flag decal on our fender in 2023!

  • Following the footstep of newer Jeep vehicles, all Wrangler name fender decals with feature an American flag.
