Order status and Jeep chat

Jeep tracker shows delivery date of 7/31 for mine. Starting to get impatient since it has shown up on autotrader etc. First few months was a breeze, but now........
 
Welp, it's officially 6 months since I placed my order for my '22 392XR.

Been stuck in "I" (inspection NOT ok'd) status for the past 59 days! A little frustrating because I feel like that means something's wrong. It'd be one thing if it were in D status, and just hadn't queued up yet, but knowing it's built and not out the door is a little more painful.

Build (for reference) is:
  • 2022 392 Xtreme Recon
  • Sarge Green
  • Front Trail Cam
  • Tow Pkg
  • All-Weather Mats
I made the mistake of getting my hopes up when it went into D1 status on May 18th, thinking it'd be a week or two, then shipped! Figured I'd have it by mid-June.

I know I'm still in the final stretch, and lots of people have waited much longer than me. There are still some status codes ahead of "I" that it could potentially get stuck on, too. Then shipping... haha.

Anyway, not the end of the world, just checking in at the 6 month mark. Holding fast, staying grateful, and living vicariously through all of y'all! Hope everyone has a great week, cross your fingers for me!

That’s rough, have you tried contacting your dealer or Jeep Cares to see what the hold up may be?
 
I'm a week away from 6 months. As time went by, it got harder watching orders placed after mine get delivered wondering what the delay was. My dealer thought it was the XR package and I agree. At least we can see the finish line now. Being able to come in here and see where everyone else was at really helped.

Production Scheduled - 6/15
Production - 7/13

The Jeep order status website was nice to have but the info was spotty. My "In Production" date jumped around from a few dates in May to a date sometime in early June and then in early July it settle on 6/1/22. Then, things happened quickly. See below:

Ordered 1/10/22
Scheduled 4/28/22
In Production 6/1/22
Vehicle Built 7/6/22
Shipped 7/7/22
Delivered 7/10/22

At any rate, I'm happy that I fly up to Granger, IA to pick up our 392 XR next week.

I was told Gorilla Glass was in short supply also and had to skip that option on my order.
 
Finally waiting on my ship date. Per Jeep's track your order:
1. 1/23/22 - Ordered
2. 4/28/22 - Scheduled
3. 5/13/22 - In production
4. 7/20/22 - Vehicle Built "Your vehicle has been built and will be shipped to your selected dealership"

Dealer called this week. New Jeep will be delivered on Thursday. Next week is real busy for me. Big rodeo and concerts this week in old Cheyenne. The build went quick. The ride from Toledo took 2 months?

Finally show an ETA on Jeep Tracker for my XR from Chapmans - 8/16/2022. Ordered 10/28/2021!

Now, what to do with the one I already have? Anyone looking for a White, Hardtop (with headliner) XR with Tow Package, Mirrors, and Gorilla glass? I'll make you a "deal." :) Super low miles for a 2022 (around 2K).

FINALLY picked her up today. Ordered 2/28, tracker on Jeep site was reasonably accurate until after the build date (7/10) and then shipping just said "TBA". The next thing I know it lands at my dealership (Koons in Tysons', VA) 10 days later. Dealer experience was great & fast with no surprises, and honored original price agreed upon in Feb.

ONE thing...MAKE SURE you sign up for the tread-lightly discount at least 30 days prior to picking it up. That would've been an extra $500 off- but I had no idea.
 
Update if it matters to anyone considering an order around now. I just put another order in yesterday and Gorilla glass either is still not available or is not available again.

With the lack of warranty support and the real world results of it being just as crackable as standard glass, I don't think it matters.
 
Yep. Also, if/when it becomes available, I'm guessing it could be used to replace normal windshield aftermarket if one was so inclined.

I kinda wanted the little gorilla face on my windshield though. 🦧

Only sad news is vehicle arrived with damage. Now we keep waiting! Waiting on determination of they can fix it in-house or if it needs to be sent offsite to body shop. I'm guessing the latter, which means we'll probably have to wait for parts. So close yet so far.

Well, I’m on my third. Safelite threw in Gorilla the second replacement without me even asking. That was today 8/11. It did ship with Gorilla from factory; the second windshield was OEM. As JC said not sure it matters (the glass) but there is the Wrangler Easter egg, too. Put enough miles on it maybe you’ll get the Gorilla too…
