On the news this AM, Possible Electrical fire!

Brand new 392 experiencing high steering fluid temps as soon as it started getting tested on the trail.

Minute 6:20 in this YT video:

To me, it sounds like high fluid temps and high temperature wiring are separate issues. The fluid cant make the wiring hotter but both could be caused by high steering demand, as in the rocks.

Yeah. I read hot steering fluid for the Electric pump can ignite at high temps...in the 300F-400F degree range. It may be a perfect storm scenario - high temp fluid, poor connection creating a spark - in some cases.

Problem solved:

Yep, on the scale of jeep issues, the solution is easy. That and the RPM extreme fan controller have been my favorite mods so far.

I'm running the PSC belt driven pump with the stock steering gear and no ram.
How do you like it ?is that the $1500 kit? More pictures please.thanks

Yes, I self installed the $1500 one. There isn't much to see once it's installed, the pump mounts where the idler pulley was, cooler mounts blelow the radiator. Steering is much lighter on and off road, it also reduces steering feedback from bumps in the road and rocks off road. You can hear fluid moving through the box at certain speeds but it's not annoyingly loud just something you hear sometimes. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Thanks👍

I just ordered the PSC high performance pump. My hope is that it will lighten the steering especially when aired down.
Anyone has any experience with this. It also includes a cooler.
I looked at the manual pump conversion but didn't want to flash the computer.

Hey all,

I blew the hose on my 2024 from my water pump to the oil cooler this past week. It totally sucked balls! It happened during morning rush hour on the highway. Anyhow after it was towed into the dealership they did perform the 21D recall. All the tech did was inspect the connector and make sure it was fully seated with the locking tab in place and no wires backed out, that was it. I'm still waiting on the hose "back order" to complete the repair. Hopefully this Monday they said.
