As others have said- they can definitely do it if you're still in "D" status like I am. When I emailed my dealer, I simply said that I belong to a large online forum and many have done this with much later timeframes than mine with the assistance of a district manager if necessary. They responded back that they'd have to reach out to their "Rep" to see if they could change it....but 6 days later he emailed me & said it successfully changed. Dealers don't like to hear that their name could be potentially dragged thru the mud if their lazy...I'd push back if I were you for sure. Good luck...

Thanks guys I reached out again and asked to speak with a sales manager. Don’t really appreciate being lied to previously. It is what it is. If I place an order with a different dealer will jeep just cancel my old order or do I need to get them to agree to cancel it? There’s no deposit.

You can just walk away. Not like dealer is losing anything since they will make a pretty penny on the machine. Not like they will have trouble selling it.
Only way I would feel bad for walking out would be if I had ordered something that would end up shafting the dealer i.e. they would end up with very unique vehicle that was not particularly desireable. That is not the case here......You couldn't option out a bad 392 if you tried too..........Any color, any set of options is going to sell.......
Hopefully won't be an issue since it sounds like they are going to probably get the color swapped.

So these pics are thanks to @Jeepish3000 over at WranglerJLforums… finally some full-on sunlight photos. She also confirmed the slight green hue in person, so I’m glad my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me. I think it’ll be nice and bright yellow in the sun, and have that nice greenish hue in the shadows. Can’t wait to see how the 392 wears it!

Ordered first day of ‘22 orders… switched to High Velocity within 2 days of the color announcement. How the eff are they delivering HVY 392’s and can’t even start mine??? I really thought I’d have the first HVY out there.

Every day I think that... then I think, it's been this long, it HAS to be any day now... then suddenly it's another month passed.
Oh, I should mention that this IS another dealer after I went through this last year. Really losing faith in Jeep and their dealerships after this whole "I need a 392!" journey started... thinking I could score a Bronco Raptor quicker than I will get my Jeep. (JK! I would NOT get the Bronco Raptor! A full-on F150 Raptor, yes... but not that Bronco monstrosity.)

But notice, this one is not the XR - you will have the first XR version for sure!!
I think you are stuck, if you change dealers now, you will not be able to order the XR I'm sorry to say.

They're probably trying to figure out how to do your unicorn build of 392 + XR + High Velocity Yellow! This wouldn't normally fit on the mfg BOM based on timing of 392XR getting pulled and HVY getting added.
On the bright side, you gotta be pumped the way the color is looking in these photos with the black accents.

You can bet there won' t be many of them and I hope yours is right in line behind it. Hang in there. When you start driving the beast, the wait and frustration will quickly be forgotten. You are going to have one of the rarest combos of them all.
