So I saw it in person today. I do like it. Actually better than Hella Yellow - and they had one of those on the lot to compare - a 2018 MOAB. Where the Hella has a darker tint towards orange, the High Velocity is less rich, but definitely does have a tiny tint of green.
I see many people not liking it, but for me it’s what I was hoping… that tint of green. It most definitely changes based on angles and lighting.

The pics of it by itself in the lot in the direct sun are dealer pics, so different camera, but it’s actually that dramatic of a difference from angle to angle and different light.

Thanks for posting these @YukonCornelius . I really like this and man, the world does need more fun, bold colored Jeeps! But being 18 weeks in, I just can’t see slowing it down… so tempting though.

A few more… granted it has a bluish tint because it’s now under a blue awning, but the pictures are still a pretty accurate representation to what the eye sees. The green is present. You can see how dramatic the color changes in the bright spots that are in direct sunlight.

I like the different look from different angles. I loved my dozer how it would look yellow or orange.........Sarge varies a lot from different angles too.

Just giving a quick update to those who might've followed earlier...I was successful in getting my order changed from the HVY to Sting Gray. Yeah I know this could come as a disappointment to some who dig the yellow, and I know that they will be a rare (especially 392's)...but in the end I just couldn't make myself like it enough. Thanks to all who posted the up & close pics in person, as it definitely helped aid in my decision.

Glad you and the dealer were able to update the color. You'll like sting gray. I test drove one and loved the color.

How are you guys able to get a color change approved? My dealer told me to fly a kite when I asked like 4 days after placing the order. They said once the vin is assigned they cannot make any changes. Seems silly as I am D status not D1.

They are feeding you BS. I had my color changed weeks after I placed the order. And I’m not the only one. They might have to do some legwork and get the district management involved, they might not be able to do it without higher authority, so it might be too much work for them. Ask to speak to the sales manager at your dealer. If he doesn’t want to bother with it, you’ll have to live with the color or order your Jeep somewhere else. Don’t wait to get it resolved though, the longer you wait the slimmer your chances.

@GB-man your dealer may be slightly correct... they can't "extremely, like with zero effort" easily change it... on their system. My dealer just contacted the regional rep and he was able to make the change. So yes, it most definitely can be changed in D and even D1 (I was D1 but still had no start build date)... your dealer might not want to do anything more than a simple mouse mouse click as far as effort - so push the issue.
