New Z Automotive things coming

I’m on the fence only because my warranty just expired last month. I’m considering an aftermarket tune. I would just tune it out at that point. But I do have several Zautomotive products on both my 392 and TRX and have been pretty happy with there products and customer service.

Is this detectible by the factory during any repairs or service? Does it need to be removed or returned to factory settings when taken in to the dealer? I religiously unmarry my Tazer when I take the vehicle in for service.

I understand that the advice is not to add a taser or the "No Limits" to your vehicle, however, I'm not quite clear whether the text string above says that the "No Limits" product from Zautomotive is detectable or not detectable by the dealership, and whether it should be uninstalled or deactivated when taking the vehicle into a dealership. I have sent an email to Zautomotive as well, but typically have not heard back from them quickly.

It really depends on your dealership shop and the problem you might be having. My dealership could care less about them for anything I’ve brought it in for. That also includes the pedal monster. That being said, I’m sure if I have some electronic failure that they can’t explain otherwise then they might point to one of those add-ons.

I would say unless they are diving into the computer system at the dealer you could leave it installed but de-activated.

Thats the way it should be rather than "we are not going to warranty your engine failed lifters because you disabled the triple honk when the key fob leaves the vehicle"

Honestly my shop has been great with me and my mods on the 392 and TRX. I’m sure if it came to blows over a catastrophic failure they would give me shit. But they really haven’t been picky about anything yet. I’m literally knocking on wood as I type tho

Two years and 5 months and I have not even slowed down while passing a dealer.

There was just an episode on Engine Masters about this. It did say that the best way to go about it is to change the cam and lifters
Disabling the MDS does change the oil pressure and delivery, not my words, true engine builders.
My 392 rarely goes into 4cyl mode and I almost always just put the shifter into drive. I think that you should do what you are comfortable with.
Looks like it could lead to big problems or no problems at all?? I checked out changing the cam and it sucks that you have to remove the heads but I would bet it is worth it

If you think about it, MDS is not active while driving aggressive. Only at low rpm’s with limited load on engine.

Again, my local service manager said using NoLimitz is no issue at all.

This is a very valid point, MDS activates when load conditions are low, low rpms, flat or down hill, oil pressure would also be low under these conditions. I have an earlier 21 which goes in to 4cyl mode far too often for my liking to include OffRoad+ mode. It seems the factory engineers had no issue with tuning this out of the newer 392s in OR+ so I’m not worried about it. Of course a cam and lifters would be best but for now I’ll go with the NoLimitz.

Following along on this one. I don’t really need the speed limiter removed, but the MDS delete would be real nice. I can hear every time the 392 switches between 4cyl/8cyl thanks to the AWE exhaust.

It’s annoying and doesn’t sound healthy. 😬
Mine doesn’t spend much time in 4 cylinder mode😂

I have a late built 21 delivered in 2/22 and I can honestly say it very rarely goes into 4cyl mode. I have spent time driving on long trips constantly checking the instrument cluster to see if it was activated and maybe 3 times while driving on the highway for 200 plus miles.
I hope it stays that way

I also have a late 21. My 4 cyl light comes on frequently but it only shows up if you are on the MPG screen in the DIC.

It's just too easy to put the Jeep into OR+ mode and drive around and not have 4cyl mode (MSD) activate. Compared to taking the AC out of the dash and glove compartment apart to install Tazer No Limits. Sometimes I will run around in OR+ but really not usually.

I was just at my Jeep dealer getting that free oil change and free 5 tire rotation. I did the 1st oil change myself at 800 miles and this one at 3600 miles....anyway talking with various service guys they do not care what mods are done really...including Tazer. They and myself really doubt the Tazer will do anything to harm the engine as it is not changing spark and air fuel ratio etc. they said just remove the Tazer and No Limits when bringing the Jeep in for warranty work or service. Personally I do not want to take the dash apart to remove No Limits if I need to take the Jeep in for warranty work. Ive seen the install of the Tazer and it's easier but I still do not want to have to go through the process of unmarried Tazer and so forth.

HOWEVER they advised me that the warranty is really with Mopar and not the dealer. If something happens MOPAR can and will void power train and electrical warranty if the ECU is tampered with (fooled). More and more vehicle manufactures are blaming down on mods not manufacture approved to how the power train and electrical operates on the vehicle while under MANUFACTURE warranty.
